Tracteur, Pony, 15,5 hp, 42"

I've had mine for two years. First year, worked great. Second year, couldn't get it to start at all. I called a lawnmower repair service and he said it was the safety switch, that it wasn't recognizing that the blades were turned off. He adjusted some things, and it worked fine for a few more goes. Now it won't start at all again. Betting it's the safety switch. This is frustrating. I know nothing about lawn mowers, so I can't check these things myself. I've never had any trouble with past mowers and so I expected the same of Troy Bilt. This is my first and last time I ever purchase a Troy Bilt piece of equipment.

For me personally, it took some getting used to with the clutch/brake, but once you find the sweet spot to let go it doesn't jerk forward/reverse. Other than that, would recommend for smaller lawns. Thinking about getting a bag attachment. I'm on like 1/4 acre and I can mow on the lowest speed in about 20 minutes, which is much better than the hour+ it used to take with a walk behind mower.

Not the same as my Bronco 42. The Bronco has a bad transfer/ transmission. The Pony is very laud, I wish I can find a more quiet muffler. The deck is too thin and feels like it is going to fall apart. I thought I was getting a better price, not so. I should have gotten a cadet which is quieter and smother. I regret buying it. Be careful what you ask for.

Bought a Pony 2 years ago. Went to start it this morning and the battrery was dead. Charged the battery, started it and put it in gear. Let out the clutch/brake and it wouldn't move. Behaves like it's in neutral, though the forward and reverse gears engage to the extent that it won't move when you try to push it.

I am just under a half acre and some parts of the backyard are pretty hilly. It handles better than I thought it would and my mowing time has been cut in half. I am loving this purchase!! Highly recommend!!

But what a difference! This one is very nimble, cuts much faster. Great job-and made in America! Thank you!

if you have a small flat yard you might be able to get away with this. but at that point, buy a push mower. this mower looks nice but is cheaply made and i'm constantly working on it even though i maintain it better than 90% of owners would.
