Torche répulsive

I bought 2 of the thermacell torches that comes with tall poles. I was super excited to try them as I had recently tried the original canister thermacell... well needless to say the first use I was a lil sad because the light didn't work in one but I figured no big deal it'll still repel, I went to use it for a second time now the other one won't light to repel which disheartened me so much! I wanted to love these and tried to get past the first issue to only be met by another. I am sure if you get working torches it will work nicely for you but unfortunately I now have to buy 2 more torches to replace the ones I already bought in just 2 uses.

When I received this I was confused on how to install the batteries so I called and the person I spoke to had no knowledge about this product and told me I would receive a call back , no call back ever happened the following day so 2 days later I called and after speaking to 3 different people I finally got the info I needed. The instructions are completely incorrect , talks about rotating to a position that says open but their was no wording that says open , anyway all you needed to do was just pull down which that is what I thought but was worried I might break it. I have not used it yet but I do have the MR 150 Repeller and it works great so I would think this will as well.

Owned this for a month. My 24 x 16 ft porch is relatively mosquito free within 15 to 20 minutes of lighting it. Moderate mosquito activity. Im wondering how well this would work in Alaska where the mosquitos have reenforcements to their reenforcements. The first pad out of the box outlasted the butane canister. I got out the refill pack and the pads in there were disappointing compared with the pad in the original box. So, I am assuming the pads in the box with the lantern are 12 hour pads and the refill box were 4 hour. A good purchase. No fraud here... works as advertised.

Purchased for a patio setting with the primary purpose of repelling mosquitos and a secondary purpose of providing ambient background lighting. This is a perfectly capable ThermaCELL as all other ThermaCELL products and easy to operate. Admittedly knew this product required batteries to operate, but didn't anticipate needing (4) new batteries after 4 hours of operation. I highly recommend the torch for serving as a mosquito repellent, but do not suggest if you expect it to serve as an ambient light for an extended period to offset lighting with a solar light or someother bug light.

I've had this torch for a couple of years and while the light & repellent features are great, I keep threatening to toss it in the trash every time I take it camping. The battery compartment is in the base but the base does not securely fasten to the torch so you are basically balancing it and hoping for the best. The pieces of the pole also fall apart very easily. This past weekend, I found the battery holder on the ground at our campsite, it having just fallen out while I was packing up. Great concept, terrible execution.

Our house backs up to wetlands, which I often refer to as mosquito-infested swampland. Since the mosquitos love me, it makes enjoying the deck impossible in the evening. We bought the thermacell as another, sure, we'll try anything...and it worked! No bug spray smell or worry about spray getting on the food, no short-term relief...it gives us a full evening on the deck for one replacement pad. We have a big deck, so we bought a second one to give us full coverage. This product really works!

Bought this today and spent 30 minutes trying to assemble it. The instructions for opening and closing the battery compartment are completely wrong - it tells you to twist until the "arrow points to OPEN", yet there is no arrow and there is no Open or Close label. The parts are flimsy and plastic, and eventually one of the little clips broke when I was trying to push the base back in. Even if there were actual instructions, I would be returning it anyways. Don't waste your money

I was selected to receive this unit for free and jumped on the opportunity. I currently own two patio lanterns and a hand held unit. These are used for different situations and I love them all including this new addition to our Thermacell family! These are great products and I recommend them frequently. I Florida we have many mosquitoes and this product allows my family to stay outside after dark without having to deal with pesky bugs biting us.
