For some reason, mosquitos love to hang around our back and side yard. I've made sure there is no standing water, but they seem to find some attraction and they love to snack on us. A good friend suggested I try these products since they work well for him when he goes camping. I bought 2 lanterns and 1 patio shield at the beginning of May. I will admit my son and I were skeptical, but they work great! Mosquitos buzz around but these work so well that we haven't been bit yet!! Even house flies seem to avoid us. My son was so sold that he is buying some for his house!! Totally recommend and would buy again!! Thanks, Thermacell!!!

Works and is attractive - ideal for New England

Admittedly, there's some getting used to - and it's easy to forget to shut the thing off when you're not on the deck so you can go through more accelerant - but this gizmo provides a protective "shield" that deters not just mosquitoes but no-see-ems, gnats, and black flies. It takes about 10 minutes or so for the "shield" to get going, and you should buy refills ahead as the mat works best if you change it each time. Refills are inexpensive and I've not found another product that works as well. We run mosquito magnets in the summer, but they don't deter gnats and black flies - this does. We're on our 3rd season and are buying another for our back deck.

Never heard of Thermacell till recommend by a friend who mangrove fishes in the keys. He had an invisible wall around him at night. I've owned units now for at least 5 years. Live in Miami. One lantern undercover outside the patio door, one under canopy in driveway, one for working in yard or bushes and a belt model for the car. I fire up about 10 minutes before I use those areas and it works wonders. If have a slight breeze while working, I put one about 10ft up wind. Maxlife great for extended social occasions, but I use regular 4hr pads (megapacks) mostly. Get to enjoy the outdoors here year round. Definitely not a scam.

I went to old forge this past weekend and I was told bring bug spray but as a camper I went in the camper and grabbed my thermacell and let
Me tell you it saved us with out it we couldn’t even sit out the next following night because I had forgot my extra cartridge to refill it because the bugs where so bad anyone who goes up to the Adirondacks in ny knows how bad they are well these things are a must have let me tell you don’t waste your money on the bug spray we had all the kids out there my daughter has Asthma and they don’t bother her there is no smell my sister has a 1 year old and he had no bites I normally don’t leave reviews but it seriously worked !!!

Wow! It literally saved my life.

Turn it on and mosquitoes are gone! No better way to explain it! Before this product, I spent my summers dreading going outside, even in my own yard because of mosquitoes. I had no other choice than to stay inside because I am actually severely allergic to mosquitoes. But I have to fear no more! The Thermacell Cambridge Lantern has destroyed that fear (and all the nearby mosquitoes). Thank you Thermacell for making my yard enjoyable again. Not to mention, it is nice and sleek looking, so no one will even know it is a bug repellent; it looks just like my other outside lights. My only complaint is that I only have one! I need more! I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

I bought this as a last resort after looking up information on the internet on the best mosquito prevention. My grandson and daughter get attacked every time they are outside, and I was wanting something for our back yard patio and didn’t want to use repellent every time we stepped outside. This product ROCKS!! I couldn’t believe how effective it is! We can now enjoy the swing in the patio and my grandson can play without being attacked. In addition, I also purchased the travel one that you clip on your belt or stroller or whatever you want, and it’s awesome because you can take it on walks or camping,etc. I love this product and have already ordered two of the lanterns for Christmas gifts!

Has the essential chemical that works

I used the OFF brand mosquito lanterns for several years. When the product started being discontinued and it was pricey and difficult to get refills, I did an Internet search for another lantern that used the SAME chemical in the wick -- since that had always been the ONLY mosquito control that ever worked for us, the same as used by the US government to protect troops in mosquito-ridden areas. Luckily I was able to find a new supplier in these Thermacell Patio lanterns, using the same chemical in the wicks and a slightly different lantern technology. I was pleased with the new lanterns and also with the fact that my new supplier is a strong company that is unlikely to discontinue a popular product.

Mosquitos are VERY attracted to me. I get so many bites and then welt up from them. It is awful. My brother-in-law told me about this products, swearing by it so I ordered immediately and received it last week. NO MORE NASTY BUG SPRAY. I always have to saturate myself in the Deep Woods or similar products with lots of DEET and then I have to shower off each night because it feels so gross. I am SO happy he told me about Thermacell. I ran out of butane tonight and the mosquitos came right back so I came on here to order more butane. THANK YOU for such a GREAT PRODUCT!!
