Dimensions seem incorrect - 64 Qt Latching Tote

I bought several latching box 64 Qt boxes - 1497 Titanium and dimensions on box label say 16 inches wide. In website "Specifications" tab say the same and also note that Carton Dimensions are 16 1/4 inches wide. As I cannot put in a legal size expanding folder which is 14 7/8 inches wide in width-wise I find the 16 inch width dimensions misleading.
My measurement of interior width at opening is 13 7/8 inches and external width is 15 1/2 inches (lip for lid to fit on).
Disapppointed dimensions are so far off from label.

Great Litter Box

These are the best storage totes I've ever used, hands down. And they make awesome litter boxes too (although the Sterilite folks might cringe at this suggestion). Because they have a large footprint, I can put plenty of kitty litter in and everyone has a "clean spot" to go. Because they are tall, my fastidious girl who likes to really sling the litter around doesn't get it all over the floor. This latching box is a multitasking must have and I hope it's never discontinued.

Hurricane ready

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ok so we are about to be hit by Hurricane Irma, and while everyone was rushing around getting supplies I picked up a few more of these. Through the years I have bought these for storage for various things. I bought a few more because you konw what I found out last year? These containers float lol they're not completely waterproof but they help out a lot and they are great for storing snacks or whatever to help you wait out the storm. 5 out of 5 stars

The best clear storage bins

The perfect size for holding my garland! I've recently acquired some really lush lighted garland to go around my doorway and this box is the perfect size to store it in when it's not holiday season. I love that the box is clear so I can see into it and know exactly which box I'm looking for without having to open all of them. The red lid makes it so Christmas-y, but the white lids would be perfect for everyday, year-round storage!

Not as good as the previous 6 qt design

I've purchased hundreds of the 6 qt totes of the previous model (before 2017). The new design for 2017 are inferior in many ways. The prior design used curves around the vertices and corners, which minimizes the stress and improves strength. In all directions the prior design is stiffer and more robust. The lid latching mechanism on the prior design is much more elegant and user friendly. There is more space on the sides to put labels and still be able to see through the tote to view contents. Also, the new design is less transparent when the lid is off, since the latch is integrated with the tote body. In the previous design I could change the color of the lid handles (green, blue, cyan,...) to easily group totes by project type or progress status. [I know, I have way too many opinions about totes.] Finally, the length-to-width aspect ratio of the new design is too larger (i.e., the width is too narrow).

Perfect storage tote!

I’ve had this storage box for a year. It’s perfect for storing things you don’t use all the time. I stored it in my shed with other totes stacked on top and it held up perfectly. Even with the hot and cold weather it was still in good shape. And you can see what’s inside so there’s no guessing what’s in it. The only problem was a missing latch. But that was my husbands fault.

Excellent product

I started organizing a garage full of stuff when I came across this tote in my research for storage containers. It's a medium-size, so it's easy to pick up two of these together (stacked), and can hold a good amount of belongings inside. The clear sides are a great feature that allow me to see what's in each container with just a glance or quick look. The latches are nicely durable as well. My family and I just moved and the movers put packing/moving tape around a few of the handles, and once we peeled off the tape, it just took a few scrubs with a sponge to get the residue off. The containers themselves made it through the move very well: handles, lids, containers are all tough and faired well. I highly recommend these storage bins (we have about 20 of them now), but I would like to see the lids come in some different colors. The gray/titanium coloring is somewhat...eh. Overall, though, these are great containers.

So much nicer....

I have been going to the "bush" of Canada since the 60's. If I hadn't remembered to save sturdy boxes for provisions it was tough to get any at last minute. For a number of years now I have used 6 sterilite containers. Easier for me to pack and the "bush" pilots love em because they stack so nice. Some of the guys have now purchased more for their own gear. We love em !

Great but…

I have so many sterlite products and they serve their purpose and are very functional, however, there are times that the lid fails, by cracking, bending, warping to the point that it is no longer usable. Sterlite does sell replacement lids and this is unfortunate. I will assume some of the responsibility because perhaps these containers should not be stacked.

Long Lasting!

I’ve had a Stearlite box that’s been holding my prescriptions for over 10 years. Each evening, I pull it out, open the individual Rx bottles, and load up my daily pill containers for the next day. It’s begining to show a little wear & tear on the corners, and one of the hamdles is wobbly, but otherwise is in good shape. It could last another 10 years easily.

They fit perfectly stacked in the space; she has a narrow sliding door closet). The secured lids were great for safely keeping contents inside as she pulls the boxes on and off the shelf. Sturdy and Spacious

I use this in my linen closet for keeping personal grooming products organized and out of the way. The container is very sturdy and the latches are excellent for keeping the lid securely attached to the container. The container is very durable and the size allows for me to store a wide variety of things neatly, yet still have easy access to them.

Great way to keep things organized

I own more of this size, but this review goes for all the sizes I have. I love that you can see what's in it. The clasps, knowing it protects throughly. And the company cares . Bought a couple that were missing a clasp. Didn't realize it til after I got home. Wrote the company and replacement was sent. Top notch customer service in my book!

Best Storage That I Own

I have several of these bins that I use for all types of storage in my basement. They're useful for storing extra clothes, decorations, bed linens, etc. They're very durable and I like that they're clear so that I can see the contents. I also like the latches on the cover which makes it very easy to take them on and off. Highly recommend!

Misleading dimensions

Bought this item at a local big box store to store a large collectible fitting the size of the printed dimension label. The label on the product stated 24x16x7 which seem to a fit the top of the container, not the actual storage are of the container.
STOP MISLEADING CUSTOMERS BY PRINTING MISLEADING DIMENSIONS IN YOUR PRODUCTS!!

I bought these boxes years ago and have never been able to find them again to complete my storage needs. I like then because they shout with the orange lids that it is my Halloween decorations. No one has carried them since. Why ??? Halloween has become a major holiday for decorating. Bring them back would you!

Great large boxes to store things!

I store a lot of stuff and Sterilite is the most durable container for the price. The plastic is tough and plyable. It won’t crack like the cheaper ones. Tops last longer because of the latches.
I was able to fit more into the same closet space because the lids latched.

Great Storage

I love the 15 Qt. Latching Box for my clothing needs. I'm able to store overflow socks, scarves and belts in this container. This Sterlite container is wonderful. It offers me a lot of storage and it fits nicely under my bed. Its one of the best investments I've made.

Sturdy and Stylish

Great for Book Storage

I love these bins! They are great for storing things in the classroom - particularly as book bins! I store the lids so that during the summer, I can keep my books safe and clean in the containers. Then I can pull them out, stack up the books and set up my library!
