Totally awesome tool!!
il y a 3 ans
Hanging drywall is not something I do everyday, but I do enough to warrant having this tool and it is a game changer for me when it comes to doing drywall work. I used my impact driver in the past, but with this screw gun it’s makes the job much quicker and easier. The screw gun is extremely quiet and drives in every screw to the same depth every time. No more over screwing. The AUTO function makes driving in screws so easy. Great tool to have!!
Great cordless drywall gun. I especially like the auto start feature. It's nice to not have the motor constantly running and definitely extends battery time. After trying both 5ah and 2ah batteries, I much preferred the smaller 2ah. The 5ah lasted all day but the tool felt off balance and heavy. I would like if the depth adjustment cone needed more torque to adjust. On a few occasions the depth adjusted accidently while clipped to my tool belt.
it is a strong durable drywall gunn 1 lasted me 3 years untill it broke due to my clumsyness so will say does have heavyduty durability and can handle abuse for cluts like me but will recomend that the screw gunn is on the heavier side compared to dewalt but is fine to me but now waiting if gonna make a new gen screwgun love its durability and ability to handle abuse but the weight is definitely on heavy side compared to other brands
I was very excited when purchasing this tool, but my excitement turned to disappointment. The tool does not drive well and the bit constantly slips out of the screw head making it difficult to drive the screw the rest of the way. Excellent at stripping out bits. I have to go back and finish with a Ryobi impact or a screw driver. How many screw guns does it take to install a drywall screw?.... for me, two. Not very efficient.

Faster & Quieter... I will take it.

I purchased this because I was tired of dragging a cord around sites to use a perfectly good screw gun. Little did I realize how much better the "clutch" is on this model, and how well balanced it is. Yes, it is a bit heavier than a hard-wired Drywall Screw Gun, but it is so much quieter and easier to place screws EXACTLY where you want them. I had a good laugh at myself for fighting the purchase for as long as I did.
It’s functioning very inconsistently. I have over a dozen of your tools, and have had no trouble operating any of them until now. As an Industrial Engineer, I’m one of those “read the instructions first” people. But no matter how I adjust the tool, I can’t seem to get it to set the drywall screws to the correct depth. I will try again this weekend, but I may have to return this tool if the situation doesn’t improve.
We recommend sending your M18 FUEL™ Drywall Screw Gun through one of our warranty options, which can be found on the Milwaukee Tool website under the "Support" tab. If you have any questions about the options or process, email our team at social.media@milwaukeetool.com. - The Social Team

Well worth the investment

Purchased this along with the collated magazine, tool itself is very simple to use. However when you attempt to use it with the magazine, there’s no sufficient detail information or illustration on how to assemble the collated magazine to the tool. Once you’ve figured how to remove the initial Phillips screwdriver bit attachment, the tools is amazingly fast, when you set it to “auto” mode to installing drywall.
I bought the screw gun along with the correlated screw attachment. It makes installing ceiling drywall in small spaces easier when I don’t have a helper. The screw gun is great, way quieter than corded. Fast too. The correlated attachment is a little inconsistent both for depth and consistent feeding of screws. Still does the job without having to run cords. It’s definitely time saving and convenient.
This WAS the best drywall gun I've ever used in 25 years in the trades with lots of power and long periods between battery changes, unfortunately the nosecone wont stay adjusted and after only two weeks of use I've had to go back to my dewalt. cant seem to find replacement cones anywhere. They definitely need to come up with a better cone and in the meantime sell replacements

M18 drywall gun

Love it..nice grip, lightweight, i like the autostart feature i use it sometimes the only thing that would be nice is a better magnet to hold those 2" screws when i hold the drywall sheet to ceiling and get my gun from my belt the screw falls off 1 1/4" they stay, i have a wrist band magnet so its not really a big deal for me so 5 stars anyways best drywall gun out there
Excellent sheetrock gun! Comfortable in the hand, very balanced when paired with a smaller compact battery like a 2.0 or 3.0. Either one of those is plenty sufficient to power this drill in my opinion.
The auto feature works like a dream, saves fatigue on the trigger fingers and preserves battery life too since it only kicks on when the tip is actuated.
Having the 18-volt XC 5.0 battery really helps! I thought it'd be a little heavy, not at all I got use tu it pretty quick got used to it pretty quick . You can adjust your depth pretty quick, you have enough torque and the battery will last you quite a bit. Very happy I chose fuel. I thought about it for a couple of months I'm glad I chose well!
Its a nice screw gun love the auto start. Would have given 5 stars but the depth adjustment is to loose if you grab it by the tip it spins and moves the depth setting. Also could use a little long time on the auto start it times out within minute or so when not in use. Other than those minor issues it seems to be other quality milwaukee tool.
What's great is, it's so quiet when running and the Auto is awesome. Just bought last month and bought dewalt today for comparison. No comparison when it comes to Auto but dewalt will catch up when the patent expires. I have no problem with dewalt/black decker but Milwaukee scored a grand slam with the Auto. B&D's drywall router rocks tho.
I bought this screw gun about 3 weeks ago for a complete remodel drywall project. It has exceeded my expectations. It drives consistently, uses little battery, and the auto feature works impeccably. Additionally, this thing can take a beating and still looks great. I have been impressed and satisfied with all my Milwaukee tools.
For first use, play with a spare sheet of drywall to set your depth properly. You don't want to tear throw the paper every time and you don't want to go around with a screwdriver to set the depths. However, once depth is set, it's a breeze to use and no cords to trip over. As a DIY with limited help, having this tools saves me.
The screw gun worked well, so well that I bought two, I also purchased the collated magazine attachments for each and they also worked great. Yes there is a learning curve, but once my crew overcame the "new tool" syndrome, they actually ordered their own. High praise for the amount of time samed.
Can not say enough. It's awesome. It's smooth it's lite. The auto start is amazing. The nose cause is fantastic. All the other guns should be trashed. I am a Union Carpenter in Southern California. And just made the switch back to Milwaukee. And I glad I did. And mad that I did not do it sooner.
I’ve been doing drywall for over 25 years. I have tried several different cordless guns, and usually end up pulling out the corded gun. With the auto feature, even the smaller battery lasts several hours, and keeps the weight down, and has great power. Very pleased with the quality of this tool.
Im a remodeling Contractor bought this gun to go cordless previous gun was a Dewalt. Must say great gun plenty of power increase production time. There is no dealing with a cord or safety issues from a cord. Love the auto start mode you don't have to hear a gun running constantly great buy!
I hang drywall for my 9 to 5 amazing tool had it over a year then my locater started spinning on my gun and can't properly set depth the lil plastic nose cone should be replaceable incant find it anywhere had 2 buy another gun if i wasnt so invested into the m18 I'd go back 2 Dewalt

Fantastic tool

Awesome! Love it. Highly recommended. It just works. It does get a tiny bit heavy but an easy trade off from having to drag a cord around all day. Nothing to get caught on scaffolding, ladders, tools, people, ruin corners etc. When it gets heavy just switch to the pancake batteries.
I loved using the gun alone and with the collator attachment. What I found extremely difficult was pulling the cone attachment off to attach the collator and I didn’t like the fact that the proprietary bit meant I’d have to buy the same bit from Milwaukee rather than a cheaper bit.
Good run time on even the smallest of M18 battery. Well balanced up to a 4.0 amp hour batter. The depth set adjustment is easy to adjust and holds if you use the tool as intended. Bet to rough with it and it will walk. The magnet and bit holder is great. Haven’t lost a bit yet.
Great design but right out of the box the automatic feature was faulty. It would work fine for 20 minutes, or just one screw. It would then stop. I had to turn the tool off and then turn it on and set the trigger appropriately. Very frustrating and time wasting.

best screw gun I have ever used...
il y a 2 ans
light weight.. super easy to use.. comfortable fit in my hand.. the depth adjustment is dead on accurate.. getting rid of my two corded drywall screw guns.. buying another one of these.. WOW.. should have had this years ago.. looking for an M18 Brad Nailer now.
I would not recommend this becuase when use 5/8 screws the chuck slip right out. I would only recommend this for screws that are 1 1/4 in. I never had problems with Milwaukee, but this screw gun just doesn't work. It's junk, DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY on this.

Life just got easier

I have been using a DEWALT corded screw gun for 28 years. Finally changed to the Milwaukee cordless screw gun. I should have made the switch in 2017 when I thought about it. So light, powerful and convenient. I don’t miss dragging the cord around at all.
This screwgun is as fast and as strong as an electric model, without the inconvenience of dragging a cord up and down a ladder or scaffold. It is very quite and smooth working, the auto start mode makes it more so. My only regret is not buying it sooner.
