Locking mechanism broke before first use.
il y a 4 ans
I love all my Milwaukee tools and I bought this 6.5" circular saw thinking it'd be lighter and easier to carry around for small projects than the bigger one I have. Reading the instructions it says to lock and turn counter clockwise, however the nut says clockwise. After reading online and watching YouTube I gave it a harder push and the lock button went flying! Even with the metal lock piece exposed, I can no longer get it to lock. After reading reviews, apparently this is a known issue. Definitely not typical of Milwaukee tools! I'll be calling tomorrow, as I know they are very good at helping or replacing!
I purchased this circular saw as a replacement for my grossly underpowered Porter-Cable and alternative to my corded DeWalt. I hadn't realized this is what I really needed for the type of DIY work I typically do. I worked on my tabletop for an electric standing desk using this tool and the sliding compound miter saw from Milwaukie and got the whole thing done in a weekend. Cuts well, as powerful as the corded version, and much, much better than my economical Porter-Cable version which is as likely to burn the same material as it is to slice through it. Definitely a Milwaukie convert at this point.
I would say this tool is perfect for home use. It’s extremely quiet if you’re used to your old corded model. It’s pretty light and does the job, currently using the blade it came with on 1/2 IN shiplap and it cuts like butter. This being the least expensive option Milwaukee offers for a circular saw, you can tell. The guard is a bit flimsy and feels cheap. This is what knocked it down to a 4 star. The increments on the table are not the best either. It also does not come with a removable fence but has a spot for one. Happy with the purchase for how often I use a circular saw.
I had a previous brand of saw blade for about 5 years, it worked okay but struggles to cut anything 2 inches or deeper. It also only took 5 1/2 blades which were a pain to find and cost a fortune. The deck is easily adjustable on this saw and I like where the blade removal Allan sits. Button and break are very responsive, and saw dust seems to stay clear of the deck. I haven’t cut anything too wet so how it speaks with that is yet to be seen. Overall it has some nice weight to it and has already stepped up on some projects that my last saw struggled with.
While the function of the motor and cutting action work fine the table and angle adjustment are thoroughly disappointing. The angle indicator does not accurately read the table/blade angle. Making angle adjustments while building requires the use of a square or angle indicator to ensure the cuts are true. At full 0 degree lock the blade is actually performing a 1-2 degree undercut. The table pins are loose out of the box new and the blade guard is plastic. I’ve bought better quality grellow and orange throwaway tools at the depot. Disappointed

Not straight right out of the box
il y a 3 ans
As i do with all circular saws I buy, I check the blade to make sure it is 90 degrees to the shoe. The saw was out of alignment right out of the box and I figured I’ll just adjust it like the manual states I should no biggie. I adjusted it but the saw is at the 1 degree for a 90 degree angle/cut. This is very disappointing as I have a 20v Dewalt cordless saw and it is straight right out of the box. Sad as the Milwaukee name is very overhyped nowadays and it is not the quality is used to be at least for the brushed models. I own both m12 and m18. My fuel tools are no issue but only time will tell. Very disappointed in Milwaukee for poor quality control. I will be purchasing elsewhere at either dewalt or Makita and hopefully will get better quality.

Tough little go-to saw
il y a 11 ans
This saw feels like the corded versions by Milwaukee, saws I have that will surely outlast me!
Because of it's size and ergonomic design and left side blade, it is easier to set up on a cut line. I can easily see either side of the blade.
This saw makes my free-hand cutting look guided, easy plunge cuts, and
it's the straightest, best cutting saw I have ever used! It does not slow down during tough cutting. The saw is exceptionally quiet, probably due to 3500 rpm's, like Makita's saws, sound-wise...battery life is good, get the 4.0's.
This has fully replaced my corded Milwaukee tilt-lok 7.25" saw. This is my "go-to" saw. Highest recommendation.... I am aware of the new Fuel version...this one is a pound heavier, cuts less,
but is quieter and, well that's about it. Get both.

Works great but doesn't come with wrench
il y a 4 ans
I started building my house and started with a fuel hammer drill and impact kit. Then i bought this saw when i got tired of dragging cords out for the saw. The saw worked great for framing up and to the drywall....now im getting ready to build cabinets...ive got to change the blade...ordered new milwaukee blade come to find out i dont have a wrench to switch blades...i am sure i could use a pair of pliers but this seems to me about like not putting a chuck on a drill or the quick disconnect on the impact...
