I would refer anyone looking for a small saw !!!!!
il y a 6 ans
I trimmed trees all weekend long and it is a very impressive tool. very quick cutting never bogs down or stall out. 12.0 battery last forever and charges back up quickly with the rapid charger. I thought the 16" bar would be too long for the cordless tool but it is a perfect match with the Milwaukee power. I have been asking tool reps for 3 years now when this was going to happen and the day has come, all i can say is Buy Buy Buy.
I've come to expect great things from Milwaukee M18 tools. My previous chainsaw was a Stihl 048. It was great. I loved it. But I have moved and I used it infrequently since moving, so I decided it was time to down size.
I'm very pleased with my decision to go with the Milwaukee chain saw. No more gas engine maintenance. I'm very well pleased with what it can cut, and how fast it cuts. It is not a toy, it is a chainsaw.
I have never used such an amazing chainsaw. I purchased it after throwing my shoulder out trying to start my old chainsaw. The power it delivers is unbelievable. It rips through 8 inches of Live Oak like it’s butter as long as the blade is sharp. The machine never gets hot, nor does the battery. The battery lasts all day with continuous use around the house. I cannot wait to purchase more Milwaukee products and grow my collection.
My big other brand ranch saw has been collecting dust since I picked this up. Batteries I already had last all day. Have 100 acres of cattle field and 3 miles of new wooded trails we cut and maintain with this saw. It now rides on my front ATV rack almost always. Light, powerful, and quiet no pull starting too many good things to list. Buy the matching pole pruner along with this and a home gamer would need nothing else for life.
GREAT saw, Punches way above its weight class. light easy to use tons and tons of torque. the chain is extremely sharp and replacements are cheep. I have shoulder issues and the simplicity of this tool make it great for me. Make sure when you first use the saw to tighten the bar nuts. I didnt check them and through the chain. Had to file the chain guide teeth down once that was done it has preformed without issue. Great Product.
Perfect for the average home owner. Saw has great power. The body is well made and has great balance. I’ve made many cuts on 10 to 15 inch diameter oak using only a 3 amp battery. Don’t have to store gas and oil or worry about starting issues. I do own 2 gas powered chainsaws and prefer to use them if I’m not near an energy source to keep a battery on charge. But again, I have to say this saw is great for the average home owner
Very pleased with its performance. Had plenty of power in various types of trees, great for trimming trees and working around the house. Cut trees and branches bigger than I thought it would be able to handle. It’s wonderful to it have to worry about fuel and mixtures and especially while being up in a lift and not have to have the saw use fuel while not being used. Great product recommend to anyone even considering purchasing.
Love this chainsaw. I've had it for about one month and already cut down multiple trees with it and I can tell you this has plenty of power to get the job done. I've used some quality gas powered chainsaws in the past, but what I really like about this saw is not having to mess with trying to get it started. The moment you pull the trigger, you're ready to start cutting. I also love how quiet this is compared to a gas chainsaw.
I have been using this 16" chainsaw around the house and property for a few months now and I find myself reaching for it more often than my gas saw with a 17" bar. They are similar weight wise but not having to deal with the engine noise and 2-cycle fuel really stands this saw apart. I also haven't run across any issues with running out of power before I ran out of things to cut, and that's not even counting my spare battery.
Surprise how good it cuts. Love it I have a lot of pain in my hands and not much strength in my hands so it’s hard to start my gas saws. I cut every thing from about 8” and down with the Milwaukee electric, saves my hands. Bought a norther battery and when the battery are charging we stock and split. Or cut the larger wood. My wife and I cut 5 full cords ,split and stocked in 3 days great saw. Thank you for great product.
Bought this saw since I injured my shoulder trying to start my old saw. It's a great saw for the average cutting and cleaning up brush. You just put the battery in and fill the oil tank and then cut away without having to pull a rope. Cuts straight and battery lasts a long time. If I was a young man I would get another 12.0 amp hour battery but I got another 6.0 with it and that is about all the work I want to do in a day.
I've owned this saw for 2 years. Cuts well, battery lasts a good amount of time. The main issue with this saw is how badly it leaks the chain oil. Within 10 mins of filling, its seeping out of the bottom of the saw. It stains everything it comes in contact with and I don't even want to use it. Going to get rid of it and buy another brand. It's really too bad, but seems like it's huge design flaw and a widespread problem.
A bit heavier than I expected it to be for a 70 year old lumberjack to be slinging around, but this baby has worked like a charm. It arrived fully assembled and the chain was perfectly tensioned as-is. I applied chain oil I had for my old gas model, charged the battery, and after some couple of hours, away I went. Strong and fast, and with get characteristics for control. I have other Fuel systems. They’re ALL great.
First of all, I love this saw. I have a country property that I am managing the forest on, and I use this to cull out the over growth and control the growth. It requires that I use a chainsaw to take down some large and some small, some old and some young trees. These are hardwood mostly, Ash, Maple, but some softer Birch, Poplar as well. In the beginning the saw battery was awesome and I could cut as more than I could clean up in a day so I was happy to use it because I had no way of charging it where I was. However now the battery after about 6 cycles is losing the longevity. It is about half as long as it was previously. I am good at sharpening blades, so the saw sharpness is not the issue, at least I don't feel it is, the battery just seems to not have the capacity it did in the beginning. I need to understand if this is expected normal or is it a bad battery.

Great saw, with limitations!

Great little chainsaw. Cuts easily through 12 inch logs . I used through a 12 inch twice and a few 2-3 inch limbs and it was done. The 12 battery would be mandatory for more intense cutting. It does cut very well as long as the battery lasts , nearly as good as my Stihl gas saw, better than I expected though. Just wish it lasted longer. I will use it for trimming , etc, and safe the Stihl for larger more intense cutting.
This chainsaw has plenty of power, great battery life, and can really keep up with my mix powered saws. Cutting brush and smaller logs is fast and quiet, no problems at all.
My only complaint centers around the bar/chain combination. The supplied bar/chain would be great for chainsaw carpentry, the fine kerf is impressive.
I’m searching for a stronger, more aggressive combination, to make it more useful in the woods.
For what it is it does a great job. We produce lumber and fire wood on a small to medium scale. It is great for the smaller or quicker jobs. It has the endurance of a tank of fuel if not a bit more. It has enough power for the full bar length and spits out big chunks of shavings. All that and for the quick cut and set it down and go again jobs you are not constantly pulling it to start it, just pull the trigger and go.
I bought this on a nice sale and have been very impressed so far. The 12amp battery lasts moderately well. I mainly it use for firewood cutting. If I was to guess I'd say the battery would cut ~1 month worth of firewood for my woodstove. Plus it's a lot quieter (barely need earplugs) than a comparable gas burner, and you don't end up smelling like burnt oil after an hour or so of cutting. So far it's been a joy to run!
Great tool to have around. Never needs gas or a tune up, it's always ready to work even if it sits for a long time. Not having to worry about bad gas is awesome. Plenty of power to do all trimming jobs and felling of small trees. (Anything you would use a 16" gas saw for). Low noise is also a plus. Even if you are a pro arborist I would recommend this would be great for quick jobs or when you can't make a lot of noise.
The saw was easy to set up out of the box and was ready to use immediately. It worked great cutting medium size trees and limbs. It's fast, didn't bog down. The chain came off 3 times during the first initial use and I had to tighten it but once it was warmed up it worked fine and didn't have any issues with it. The tool to undo the two bolts and tighten the chain down fell out of it spot, that was my only issue I had
I live in a residential area so the electric is perfect to not disturb the neighbors while cutting wood for bonfires. This saw rips through 15" ash almost as fast as my Stihl but with rhe convenience of electric. I did switch the bar to a 16" Oregon with a S56 chain. The Oregon bar and chain are a bit more durable than the stock bar and chain and are much easier to find replacement parts at the local hardware stores.
My Saw kept throwing the Chain and then the Stud Bolts that held the Bar came loose and I could not get the Bar off. It also leaked Oil. I sent it back to Milwaukee and they sent me a new one. The new one has only lost the Chain a couple times while cutting Brush.
I have used it a lot and it works very good for small jobs just grab it and pull the Trigger. For bigger Brushing and cutting Wood I use my Gas Saws.

Hot knife through butter.
il y a un an
I've been a Milwaukee addict for 15 years. So I had no doubts this chainsaw would perform great. I love the blade lock out safety measures. I didn't wanna climb trees with a gasser. This was the perfect solution. It rips through the larger tree limbs and is not to heavy to create fatigue from using. Now I just need more to cut down. This tool is fun to use. Great job Milwaukee, your chainsaw is brilliant!! Thanks.
They both sling oil everywhere, the m18 seems like I can’t get my chain tension right I was really excited to try this Milwaukee product but it’s let me down. The power is great it cults great when it cuts. definitely some room for improvements though. I was hoping it would replace my sthil but not at the moment. I hope Milwaukee improves the design some or fixes the issues so I can come back and change my review.

Happily surprised

I had to do some land clearing on a wooded lot we own, so I bought the saw, battery and charger kit. Wow! This thing went through wood like a hot knife through butter. I did mostly small saplings up to 3", but also went after some 12" stuff on the ground. It handled it all. I used for about 1 1/2 hours of steady use, and still had half a charge showing. Very happy with the product. You should check the chain tension after 10-15 minutes to readjust. Mine came off the bar, and I think it was just the chain wearing in. Oiling seemed good, just the right amount without being too much and wasteful, or too little causing chain wear. I did get into some green vines and plants which tended to wrap around the inner housing, but it did not slow the saw down. Easy enough to clean out at the end of the day. On a side note, I got a lesson in identifying poison ivy...I hate that stuff!
I am completely satisfied with this tool. This is great for a nice lightweight grab and go chainsaw. Just keep the bar oiled by adding oil to the chamber and and i guess eventually i will have to sharpen the blades. I would give it 5 stars but for some reason i can't find the correct file for sharpening the blade. If Milwaukee makes one like other chainsaw manufacturers i would have nothing to complain about.
Cut through 10" Maple Branch in seconds. Runs smoothly and has good balance. Made somewhere between 100 and 200 cuts on varying sized Box Elder without battery dying. Only recommendation is if you have many trees to cut then buy a spare or two batteries as the battery takes ahwhile to charge so having spare backup is beneficial. However your backyard do it yourselfer 1 battery is sufficient, just plan your work.
I love the saw it’s quite a workhorse. You do need good batteries though. I would recommend at least the 9amp. That’s the best size for me as it works long but is still quite light.
I would caution that you don’t over tighten the two nuts on the chain guard as I did that and destroyed the plastic housing for the bolts. This meant buying a new chainsaw. I had used it for a few years so can’t complain too much.
It’s the perfect little chainsaw for what I need it to do. After all, I’m not trying to cut down forests or win lumberjack competitions. I use it for the convenience of making quick work of fallen branches and small diameter trees & bushes. I was actually in the market for a gas powered chainsaw when I came across this item. Already owning a few Milwaukee tools and batteries made this purchase an easy decision.
I’ve only used the saw twice but it burns through small trees and large shrubs like they aren’t even there. I’ve long been a huge fan and user of the Kobalt 80V line. But the M18 line is replacing them now. Don’t get me wrong, the 80v line is awesome. And I have nothing bad to say at all. But despite the 62V difference, the M18s are simply better. Just need them to come out with a tiller attachment and I’m set!
