Lots of Power and Very Quiet
il y a 6 ans
Purchased about a month ago and have gone through three battery charges worth of work. I am impressed with the power, ease of handling and the longevity of the battery. Two negatives are one :- chips and sawdust are not cleared as well as you would expect and two :- chain oil feed is not adjustable and feeds more than required. These two result in having to remove the side plate and clean the oily chips and sawdust more frequently then I would expect.
I have only used this chainsaw on one occasion, and it felled a 6” diameter tree and cut a 25’ oak limb (about 8” diameter at its base) easily. It still had 2 bars left on the battery when I finished cutting. It is a very sturdy chainsaw with much less vibration and noise than a gas chainsaw. Easy to clean and adjust. My neighbor has another brand of electric chainsaw, and he thought that this Milwaukee chainsaw had more power and cut more quickly.
Amazingly surprised! Perfect workhouse saw with amazing battery life. The power and grit of this saw blew my mind. Out of the box, charged, chain and bar lube and I put 6 hours under the hot sun cutting large trees and branches. This saw made me a Milwaukee believer. I bought the pole saw and blower box set after. Amazed. I am now switching all my pieces for Milwaukee. You won't be disappointed with this product. Day after day of hard work on my ranch.
It is a great saw but one of the problem they need to address is bar and chain the chain keeps coming off the bar is to thin making it to flexible mine had a slit bow in the bar when I bought it I been using saws for over 40 years I went to hardware and bought a better bar and chain now I works great us it for cleaning up fence lines and I cut about 20 cords of wood a year so I wore a few saws out in my life good saw just have to address the bar issues
I am not a professional logger, but I have lots of trees on my property I have been taking out. I absolutely despise a gas chainsaw, way too many variables to go wrong, for someone who doesn't use a saw but a couple times a year. But since I bought this saw I haven't stopped using it. My friends and family won't need fire wood for years now :-)! I paired it with a 8.0 battery and it goes forever. All the torque and power you'll need for the home owner!
I dont use a chain saw every day , so I always had the fuel going bad thing to worry about . This saw is perfect . put it in the back of my side x side and go to work clearing my road of tree's that have blown down or brush that I cant get to with my tractor . It has amazing power and simple to maintain . they only down side might be it's weight , it is a bit heavy but it dont bother me . A quality built product at a fair price . I would buy it again .
This saw is preferable over my Poulan gas powered saw. I was cutting up trees and pinched the bar and the chain came off. I fixed the chain and wasn't able to start the saw again. I purchased the M18 FUEL™ 16" Chainsaw and have had trouble free service since. The saw works every time I need it and it is much quieter. I don't need to mix fuel and carry a gas can around with me when driving to another location. All I have to do is recharge the battery.
I wasn’t sure about a battery chainsaw at first but I have a lot of other milwaukee tools and love them so I figured it would be a decent chainsaw but it exceeded my expectations just as good as a gas of the same size in my opinion cuts through pine with ease haven’t had the chance to cut down a oak tree yet but I’m sure it will do it with no problem ran for about 2 hours on a 9amp hour battery before I had to switch that was cutting pretty consistent
I was looking for a chainsaw to cut dead limbs, small regrowth along fence lines and smaller firewood. This saw is very portable and light. The convenience of not having to restart as with a gas saw after making a few cuts is very desirable. I was very surprised at how many cuts I could make on a single charge with the 12ah battery. The saw is not without its drawbacks. The chain has a tendency to come off the bar and I think the bar is a bit flimsy.
I have had/tried other battery powered chainsaw offerings to only be disappointed. This saw has the power to limb a tree, cut a tree down and the smart built in feature to not allow you to destroy the tool when it there is a jam or an overheating issue. Fits in well with my other M18 red lithium tools. Hope to pick up the string trimmer with pole saw soon to round out my outdoor tools to make yard maintenance more enjoyable and efficient to get done!
I was pleasantly surprised when I made my first cuts. This saw cuts and handles like a gas powered chainsaw but without all the noise. The saw balances well in my hands and is lighter than a conventional saw. My first day, I limbed up a large spruce tree which fell during some strong winds here on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. It worked so well that I proceeded to cut up three more large trees I had pushed aside, which had fell last year in a hurricane. I had used my 12 ah battery which had plenty of power left to do pruning on some larger fruit trees that had gotten a bit out of hand.
I highly recommend this M18 powered Milwaukee chainsaw for anyone tired of mixing gas, wearing hearing protection, fixing busted pull cords. I could go on and on, but will end by saying it is totally worth it to make your life cutting wood much easier.
Nice chainsaw, works well so far. I love that I don't have to deal with fuel costs or mixing oil with gas and storage of these plus filters and cranking the recoil to start the saw, hoping that it will. I've only used it twice to cut a little bit of firewood that was too big, so we will see how it performs when I tackle a tree. To sum it up-great on convenience, more expensive than a regular one and we will see how it performs with cutting trees.
I work for a non-profit. Part of my responsibilities are doing lot maintenance, landscaping, and site improvements. I originally purchased this saw for work around my yard, but now will take to work with me. This is better than any gas chainsaw I have had. It is balanced well. I have a 12 amp battery which was only half drained of power after an hour of slicing logs. The logs were up 12” in diameter. I love the variable speed of the saw too.
this thing is a beast that will not stop. if you plan on using this saw, you had better eat your wheates and pack your lunch. in other words you had better be ready when you stsrt and be prepared to stay a while cause it will flat out cut and cut and cut and cut. i have had a half a dozen different brands of cordless chainsaws. this is the ONLY one that will get the job done and still be ready for more. i would definitely recomend and buy again.
This is an excellent chain saw. I have used it numerous times without an issue. The chain is easy to change and the saw has more than enough power. The battery has a good life span (I like it, by the time the two batteries I have need a recharge, it is time for me to take a safety break and recharge myself!). I highly recommend this chain saw, you will be amazed at its’ easy use and power. I have cut down several 50’ trees and I am still going!
Maybe I had low expectations going for an E-Saw. But I trust Milwaukee. I, unfortunately, have a pretty small space to keep all my tools, so the idea of not having to store fuel or mix 2-cycle oil was very appealing to me as well as the compatibility with my other Milwaukee tools.
But I so was surprised at how beefy this little guy is - I mean you're not going to clear-cut a forest with this, but it can handle some hardwood, and my nemesis down in SoCal was a bunch of Yukka trees - thick, juicy, and fibrous. Chopped right thru it. And easy to handle and move around in tight spaces - easy to clean. And I've got more to chop!
I run a couple of bigger batteries to get through a whole day, but very impressed - and I grew up cutting trees in eastern Washington with my pop - so stoked on this new generation of battery-powered power tools!
I made a commitment to Milwaukee tools a couple years ago and with each new addition I am glad I did. The 16" chain saw is a case in point. I do a lot of rental maintenance and in this instance had to cut down a dead tree. It was the perfect excuse to buy the chain saw. It blew through an 8" trunk in a hurry. Milwaukee tools make me money by helping me be efficient and safe. I highly recommend the chain saw as an addition to your 18V arsenal.
The saw works well on 10” and smaller trees. It is quiet. It would be great to be able to put a 12” bar on it to fit better on an atv. It would work better with a 12” bar. It is also easy to forget checking oil when changing a battery. Normally a saw would run out of fuel before oil and you would remember to grab both to refill. Maybe a red led on top for an oil low reminder or an oil low shutoff switch could be added.
Thank you Milwaukee
I have not really had much of a chance to use yet, just sawed up half of a fallen tree. I could not believe how well it worked. Cut through a 12" fallen fir tree like butter. I was amazed at how balanced it was while cutting. I had made 20+ cuts on this tree and the battery still had three lights. I know that being battery operated has it's limitations, but for use around the yard and carrying in your truck, you couldn't ask for better.
This saw cuts smoothly and is quiet enough to be able to talk to somebody within reason while using it. I’m a distributor of Milwaukee products and have heard so much positive feedback I decided to try it. Absolutely recommended to anybody. I also have used their pole saw, string trimmer and a hedge trimmers and they are all top notch. Using for personal use at home and can’t see why these shouldn’t last forever for maintenance purposes.
The positives: The saw feels like a Milwaukee tool - built for business. One battery charge lasts about as long as a tank of gas from my old 14" Stihl. Love setting it down between cuts and not having to hear it run. Love knowing I can ignore it for months and it's ready to run with just a battery charge. The negatives: Have to keep the chain REALLY TIGHT or it jumps off the rear sprocket when finishing a cut. Could use better bumper spikes.
I bought this saw to use for limbing. I cut mostly white oak to sell. It cuts threw branches like lighting. I tried it on a ten inch tree. It worked well. About ten cuts and the battery was down to two bars but this saw wasn't meant to be used for the big stuff. Excellent saw for a backup if your gas powered one gets pinched. Yeah happened twice after I bought this one, glad I had it. Would I buy this battery powered saw again? Absolutely.
Had the same problem as Alaskan Adam. Chain kept coming off and eventually wasn`t able to tighten anymore. Milwaukee sales rep came to fetch it after 16hrs work. They sent it in for check and repair. Two months later the sales rep came out to show that it works. Cut 6 branches and that was it for the fully charged brand new battery. Rep took it away and now 5 months down the line still no replacement, credit or any word on what`s going on

Milwaukee Chainsaw

I purchased the Milwaukee chainsaw and I could not be happier! Out of the box it comes with a blade cover on the tool only model. I used a 12 amp batterie and it sliced through 10” trees like butter. Highly recommend this product to professionals and DIY enthusiast alike. After using the debris can be easily cleared with how the chain guard was designed. Now if I could only win one of those Red shirt!! Thanks for reading Milwaukee Family.
This tool has all the power I need plus there is no stinky two cycle exhaust Not to mention it’s so quiet in comparison. I used it right out of the box to trim some 12” limbs that were 20’ off the ground and it is nice not having to climb an extension ladder with a running chainsaw. I was overly impressed with this tool.. not to mention that I had my wife using it with no problem all. She would have never used a gas one to intimidating.
This is the perfect saw for the homeowner that needs a saw occasionally. It cut fallen oak and anything I’ve thrown at it with ease. It does use a lot of bar oil. Watch oil level while cutting. I used various size m18 batteries, it worked well with even m18 5.0. M18 9.0 is heavier to me. The main thing I love is, turn off the chain brake and no pulling, mixing fuel and fighting a machine that has bad fuel for sitting. It’s ready to cut.
I bought this chainsaw after a lot of research. I don’t often need a chainsaw, maybe once a year or so, and I’ve dealt with enough gasoline powered ones to experience significant frustration. While this one was a bit pricier, it’s exactly what I need, which is a powerful reliable chainsaw. I used it to cut up several downed trees from the latest hurricane, and quite honestly, by the time the battery died, I was ready for a break myself.
We have used these saws as a ground saws everyday since last December, as a professional tree service. Coupled with the 12.0 batteries it will run all day on 2 batteries. No gasoline and mix, starts every time and NO IDELING NOISE. Hopefully they come out with a top handle saw and we will replace our 201’s for climbing/bucket work! Recommended to my father to replace his seldomly used, never wants to start gas saw. Couldn’t be happier!
Amazing little saw that holds its weight. Running the saw with a 12 amp high output and it cuts for roughly an hour. A must have for maintaining a property. No pulling a cord to start it and way more torque then a gas saw. Best of all you can cut a branch, haul it away and go back to cutting with no restarting the saw. Has a 16” Oregon bar so no hassle to find a replacement. Just add oil and start cutting. You will not be disappointed
I use this saw around the farm daily. From cutting brush out of fences to making four wheeler trails for the weekend!! Holds up great!! It is also light!! I had neck surgery last year and this saw is very easy to maneuver when cutting!! This saw along with the M18 hedge trimmer is the ultimate pair to maintain or even build walking trails, bicycle trails or atv/utv trails!! No more carrying a gas can and pull starting for every cut!!
