Battery life and reception are lacking.
il y a 2 ans
I work commercial construction, I got this radio for job sites. It does okay, but I’ve noticed that if I have a charger plugged in anywhere near the radio and I’m trying to get a radio signal that I get almost all static. As well I’m lucky to get 5-6 hours on a 2.0 battery at medium volume at best. I usually need 2 2.0 batteries to get through a 8hr work day with the radio. The size is great, the sound is good. But it troublesome that it can’t be near a charger and the battery life isn’t as long as projected.
Amazing sound! I was hesitant after reading reviews from the other M12 radio's and speakers, but this unit is awesome. I was very impressed with how loud it gets and even with the bass and treble maxed out there is no sound distortion. Bluetooth connects quickly, it gets good reception, and its a perfect size. I do wish the unit had a small storage compartment to keep the cord handy if you're not using a battery as the power source. Other than that you will not regret this product. A homerun for Milwaukee!
I purchased this radio/charger with the intent to use it in the dog kennel to keep the pup company. After messing with it for a little while I really enjoyed the sound quality and how well the reception was for the FM Radio . Now it goes almost everywhere with me. I plan on taking it in the Kyaks this summer as well. Very small and compact and will easily fit in there . I'm assuming I will also put it in my backpack for hiking and bike trips as well. Just an all around great little radio!
Great overall performance if you are looking for small portable bluetooth radio.
Good sound in the mid range volume but if I compare to the Model # 2890-20 that I have, the 2890 have a much better ritcher sound and way more power.
The sound level control is not precise and if you in a situation were you wanna keep it low level, i find myslef always shifiting between level 2 and 3. 2 beeing too low and 3 too loud...
Great bluetooth range and autonomy on m12 battery and lightweight.
I use this part time construction work. Good sound and keeps my tool batteries charged. Last night had my first issue with trying to remove battery. It's very hard to get your hand in there to depress the battery clips. Last night the batter would not come out. I had to use an object to reach in and depress the battery clips. AMFM reception is not great but enough to get some tunes while working. Bluetooth works OK but not a great distance.
Bluetooth connection was simple and sounds good. Only issue I have is the charger is hard for me to use. I plugged in a battery and started playing music, noticed battery was at 1 bar so I plugged in power source to charge. Flashing lights. Turned off and back on, still flashing lights. New battery, flashing lights. I had to power down and un-plug 12v DC power. I could power on with 12v DC wall power then insert battery to start charging.
Radio was good when I was able to use it but the Power chord didn't last very long and I need to replace that but not sure which or where to get? Other wise radio was nice pretty powerful but I bought mainly for smaller compact convivence and charger capability. Previously I had the larger m18 jobsite Milwaukee radio and before that the m12 cordless but both couldn't charge batteries like some other brands radios only run off battery.
I picked this up as a more robust Bluetooth speaker for in the shop and out in the yard. I have several M12 batteries and found the music played most of the day on just one battery. Sound quality is good compared to other Bluetooth speakers. Super nice that the unit charges your M12 batteries when the unit is plugged into a wall outlet! It’s already been dropped a few times and left outside overnight and shows no issues.
Great sound, really like the am/fm and blue tooth function. Hard to find a blue tooth radio in the compact size that also offers am/fm radio. Also nice to be able to customize the sound with the equalizer. The charger cord being separate is the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star review. Only a matter of time before it’s lost, now that I think of it I don’t even know where it is and I haven’t used it yet….
Radio is fine, works as you would expect it to, connects to Bluetooth easily. Has good sound. Unfortunately for me, mine has an issue. It randomly turns on when a battery is connected. Once on, it connects to bluetooth and starts playing music at the volume it was last set to. I store my tools in my basement, on more than one occasion I've been woken up in the middle of the night by this issue.
It took me several trials to figure out how to access the settings for the equalizer and presets.
As soon as it enters the flashing mode, release the button you pushed to get you there. Then use EITHER the volume buttons or forward & back buttons to select the level or the preset location.
Sound is very good for the size of unit.
negative: can not charge from USB UNLESS the radio is on
I like the volume/loudness of this unit. I purchased it to take in my backyard, it works great. I only have 1 dislike from the radio, you have to cycle all presets to get to the one you want, their are no dedicated preset buttons eg. 1,2,3 etc., it only has a "preset" button you push until the preset you want is on. The sound, setup and battery life is great.
I have the old M12 radio and I have the M12/M18 Bluetooth speaker. This had to the functionality of both and one package for me. The sound quality is not bad and volume is decent couldn’t expect much more I guess out of M12 platform. The only town side is an external power brick with wire that plugs in a water sealed door. Please give me an attached cord.
I use it at work and next to my sleeping area. Great sound, but it could be louder. I like the ability to stand up my mobile phone and water-resistant cover for the USB-A receptacle, but should be wireless charging too. I like the clock, radio, BlueTooth, and m12 charging ability. I want a backup alarm for my cell and make it for an M18 platform.
I use it in a large shop and it isn’t the best in that environment. Have to turn it up and it gets a little distorted. But when I have it at home or inside a house it’s definitely much better. I like that it’s small and portable, and that the battery lasts a full day. I like it , but would recommend a larger unit for better sound at louder volume.
Conect right away to bluetooth and volum can be adjusted from your phone. Really good radio signal. Sounds really good for a compact device. Highly recommend! Get the biggest battery(xc6 or something like that) and its gonna last a lot , 30+ hours. Also have a usb port to charge your phone, Really handy. The only downside is the high price.
Unfortunately this unit is a letdown.
I live in the heart of Annapolis, MD and I scanned through every single FM station with the antenna up.. I got like one christian station and that's it. Literally.
The volume is weak. Only decent for indoors... outdoors you wont even hardly be able to hear it if a car passes by.
The worst part of the whole thing- The bluetooth connection is pitiful. About 15 ft is the max before it starts stuttering and skipping. What is the point of this radio if you can't take your phone with you more than 15 ft? Recently I have had it start losing connection at about 10 ft or less. This product has definitely taken my pride for Milwaukee down a notch. It's 2024 and we can't figure out how to make a "Radio" that picks up FM or decent range bluetooth? I want a refund.
Battery Life is good, sound quality is decent.
P.S. Why does this web page ask for a Nickname and then tell me that "Dan" is one letter too short?

Good sound from a little box
il y a 3 ans
The fact that it charges batteries Is why I bought it. The sound that comes out is great. It Could use better woofers. The usb charge port is convenient I haven’t timed it but the radio has run for many hours on mid volume with a 6ah battery and it isn’t half dead yet. This was worth my dive into some m12 fuel tools. Very happy purchase
I absolutely love the radio! I was skeptical on how good the sound quality and overall volume of the unit would be, but after using it all day and only using 50% of a M12 2ah battery, I am more than satisfied and impressed with this little guy! I can honestly highly recommend it! Good quality radio and doubles as a charger as well.
This a good little radio. Loud enough to be heard on the job over power tools running. I like being able to charge my smartphone from it without having having to go back to the truck. Besides the Bluetooth connection, the AM and FM stations in our area come in clearly. It is also nice to have an extra charger around when needed.
A small radio with big sound!
Easy to turn on and off and setup presets and bluetooth connection. What I realize was when we traveled overseas for a job the FM and AM radio frequencies was not tuned correctly. It seems the radio is only for USA FM/AM frequencies. Very disappointed. I am hoping Milwaukee has a fix for this.
I was waiting for a sound device for m12 like the first dewalt radio. It's the same, but better, especially with the EQ feature. So you can customize your sound. Found that out after I purchased it. I'm oldschool, not great with the new tech yet. The only thing to make it even better would be a plugin for my mp3 .
After a lot of back and forth on it after I own the larger m18/m12 loudspeaker which is amazing I thought well I will try it out as a smaller one to take with on the boat or when working. Not that loud at all not full sound as the larger unit. For the price it’s going back not worth it. Sorry maybe on the next one.
So far seems to be great I use it everyday for watching YouTube in semi truck during 10 hour breaks and listening to music outside of the truck while chaining strapping and sometimes tarping loads bass could be a little better and sound in general a little higher but otherwise amazing speaker for its compact size
I recently purchased this radio/charger it’s beyond amazing. I’m a maintenance guy for an apartment complex. When I’m in turns I have my radio on even when I’m working around the house my radio is on. I would absolutely recommend this product hands down. It’s a must for work or just around the house or parties.
I like my speaker/radio bring it everywhere, I have my phone with all my media Bluetooth connected as soon as I turn it on it looks for my phone and connect imidiatly in the truck , at home ,on the job sites it's on and they say 10 to 12 hours well I have balance the battery that at lunch I give it an hour charge in the truck and it's good till way later and when I want to listen to music or TikTok on my tablets it keeps going ,at night before I go to sleep I plug it in for the night ,I know it's charged in 2 hours but it's connected all night in the morning I unplug it ,turn it on . It's taken a lot of tumbles off window sills ,counters, tailgate and it keeps going it's like that bunny except much better I have 9 diferent Bluetooth speakers from the megaboom to jbl party thumper. this one gets used the most and I haven't changed the battery since I bought it ,it hasent shown any loss of power, I don't even think of getting another one but who knows . Great speaker/ radio
The sound is better than I expected out of a job site radio. The Bluetooth is very responsive. Picked up all the local radio stations I listen to. The treble and bass adjustment was another nice touch I didn't even know about until after I started using it. Quality and convenience, you nailed it Milwaukee.
Clear speech, loud music, good quality sound & speaker. Battery life is ok but the clock refuses to keep time. I inserted AA battery and it keeps presets but clock flashes 12:00 every time I swap M12 batteries. Antenna outdoor be more robust and I wonder how long it will survive. Could use a lanyard.
Great overall Radio, very good sound quality, the blue tooth is very fast auto connect and easy to use, portable, and it can fit anywhere and everywhere. It can run long time of use while charging a battery!
I’m very happy with this M12 Radio and I highly recommend it as a gift or for personal use.
If you DO NOT need an FM radio, then there are many other better options.
Maybe cause it has the very old bluetooth 4.2, sound quality is bad.
The battery charger is basically useless cause of the power cord type. I would prefer to lose the charger and add one more speaker in it for stereo sound
