Awesome little sander
il y a 5 mois
This sander is wonderful. It has 4 speed settings and a lock to set it on without needing to keep your finger on the trigger switch. It can be used with the regular backing pad or add a foam backed pad to conform with contours. It sands extremely well and has been so useful in cleaning up items machined on my CNC. In fact, I bought 2 so I could have different setups to go from one to the other. My only wish is to add dust collection but that might be a design issue. Note that it does not throw dust all over when used.
Love this tool. I use to struggle with sanding in corners. Mouse sanders and multitool sander always resulted in dents to the wood from the sanding pad beating into wood. Hand sanding took forever. This oscillating sander is awesome. The multi speed selector and variable speed trigger make this invaluable when doing a lot of corner and detail sanding. Battery life was great. The sand paper is expensive. But I got good life out of it and to me the time savings, efficiency and control out way the sandpaper cost.
Works well, mostly comfortable to use, and saves tons of time hand sanding small parts.
After an hour-ish of use (full charge down to half on 4ah battery) the head of the tool, directly behind the sanding pad, is very hot. Too hot to comfortably hold, very hot air blows out of the vents enough that I avoid placing my hand in it's path; the handle and battery don't heat up beyond expected. I limit my use so it doesn't burn itself up, but it doesn't seem this would be the intended use.
This thing is awesome! Lightweight and gets the job done in weird spaces. Only comments are: The speed lock button usually takes me a few tries to get it to engage, which I believe is just a design quirk mixed with a lack of muscle memory on my part. I also find myself wishing that there was some method of dust extraction, but I can't think of how it would be achieved while keeping this tool true to its lightweight compact form.
I own a number of orbital sanders from a variety of well respected manufacturers, and this is one of my favorite to use. The orbit diameter is very small which is great for finish sanding, but it has enough power to remove a surprisingly large amount of material fast when asked to. A dust collection method would be a great additional feature, but it would come at the cost of dexterity, which is really where this tool shines.
Great working tool to get in tight spots as well as levelling areas. I appreciate being able to select different speeds then being able to feather control with trigger for real small details . Paired with the 5amp H.O. battery it goes all day. I also appreciate how quite it runs, doing a job in a working radio station studio meant I couldn’t generate a lot of noise, so saved me a tremendous amount of hand sanding.
I got this to the improve my detail sanding game. If you’re like me you hate the fine sanding in tight spots. This sander is amazing. It cut my sanding time down considerably with a much better result than I could pull off with my assortment of wood blocks and folded sandpaper. Knocking off excess wood filler was no problem as I was finishing up some paint grade kitchen cabinets. I’m definitely recommend!!
This little sander is truly unique. It is extremely versatile, given its size and shape, not to mention its light weight even with a battery. The metal sanding sheets may the thing that really sets it apart. The coarser grits are surprisingly aggressive, so its great that Milwaukee even offers them up to 400 grit. The sheets seem to last much longer and clog much less than even high quality sandpaper.
I wanted a compact sander to get into tight spots. The power grid mesh sanding sheets work very well and last longer than regular sandpaper. I purchased the M12 12V Lithium-Ion CP High Output 2.5 Ah Battery Pack which lasted over an hour of continuous use on speed 3. The variable speed trigger gives you lots of control. Nice weight for the size and feels well balanced. Great addition to my toolbox.
Exactly what it says it is. I have used this sander to get into hard to reach areas and along interior edges. It takes material off fast, I had to run at level 3 about 1/2 speed and it worked great and left a smooth finish. Low vibration in the hand and has the mesh sandpaper as an option which is all I use. Nothing else to say, it works great and is exceptional at detail sanding.
The design and ergonomics are good. The sanding mesh lasts a long time. It is not an ideal finish sander as advertised. It’s best to do the small areas and corners by hand. The tool doesn’t do great in corners. It’s hard to control due to the vibration and it tends to scratch and dent the wood. Also the battery or tool gets too hot and shuts off after about 20 minutes.

This is a very handy sander to carry daily of your a painter or carpenter. I have only on complaint, I wish it had a way to hook up dust collection, as cumbersome as that can be but most the time it’s used in short bursts. This tool is perfectly balanced and sized for the application. I use my M12s everyday and this tool is another great addition to my collectionz
Another Milwaukee Home-run. I couldn’t wait to have a reason to purchase this sander after seeing review videos. This sander is every bit as good as advertised. Light and easy to use. Very comfortable grip. The home plate design of the pad is brilliant. This has been the most used tool in my shop since the purchase. Definitely a go to tool for detailed requirements.
The perfect sized sander for detail work! The length is shorter than an oscillating tool so you can get into tight spaces. The sanding plate is able to be rotated so that the sander fits into tighter spots and can lay flat for consistent contact with the surface being sanded. The included sponge contour pad is great for sanding the offsets in trim and groves in fine woodwork. The job I bought this for was sanding window frames for repainting. The frames were beveled slightly so the sander had to sit at a slight angle in order to sand evenly. The fact that the sanding pattern is orbital instead of oscillating eliminates back and forth scratches leaving a smooth finish. The kit comes with three sheets of each grit (80/120/180) and they last a very long time. Hoping Milwaukee can come up with a dust collection shroud so that dust is caught at the pad rather than having to hold a vacuum nozzle and the sander to eliminate a mess.
Shockingly powerful little tool. Does not lack power at all. Even when using a corser 60 grit. Best surprise of all is the noise level. Out of all the tools I have bought in the last 40 years. This is the most quiet.
I had previously used Milwaukee’s m12 multi-tool to take the edge of hard wood. It did a great job but the noise level was extreme.
The Milwaukee detail sander is absolutely the most rugged, powerful, and superior quality sander that I have used. I am always grabbing it for finishing my woodworking and DIY projects. Its precision and clean finish mean I actually enjoy sanding! I can get this tool into tight places that my other tools cannot, such as inner corners. The sanding pads from Milwaukee also seem indestructible after much use, even when used on edges. The varied speeds help to ensure just the right kind of sanding for the workpiece. A few things I may like in future would be to have the light be more than flashlight so that instead it could cast shadows on the work surface to highlight areas that aren't smooth. It may also benefit from an ability to set the angle of the sanding head to get into even tighter areas, but really that isn't required generally. This is an awesome sander that will give you the precision and quality smooth finish you are looking for.
I have been using this sander even more than I thought I would, it is so handy and works really well! I have been using the pocket hole jig to join 1x4 oak together for window trim. This sander not only does great on sanding that 3/4" edge, it does surprisingly well at flushing out the joints in the face of that 1x4. I really like the mesh sandpaper, not only does it work better than paper, I have found it to last a really long time. The feature I really like having though, is the variable speed trigger. When I am sanding, I can easily slow up the speed as I come to a corner. It just gives you fantastic control! The one thing I will say is, the sander is sort of power hungry, but I think that's true with any sander. I have lots of batteries, so it's not a problem for me. I haven't tried an extra capacity battery yet, but I'm sure that would help if you are using it a lot. Another great M12 tool! As a trim carpenter, I am loving the M12 lineup!
I received this as a birthday gift and it has become and handy tool in the shop. I use it to break the corners on freshly cut wood and touch up any marks or scratches I see as I go. It's incredibly light and easy to use one handed. I honestly didn't think I was going to use it as much as I do and it has become a valued tool in my arsenal.
Great sander for smaller projects including work with CNC signs. Battery life is good and removes good amount of material for such a small orbit. Very minimal vibration and comfortable for extended use. Hoping for some higher grit sheet options in the future. Foam pad is great for curved surface but is very firm until broken in.
This is a game changer for smaller projects! Unbelievably fast at removing material for it's size and doesn't leave swirl marks. The speed settings are a fantastic feature. I have been waiting forever for a company to come out with a detail orbital sander. Totally worth the price. If you are considering it.... Just buy it.
This thing is AWESOME! I turn apartments and this thing is handy for sanding all kinds of trim and millwork, or I also use it to make quick work of sanding down small hole patches on drywall. It is super lightweight and ergonomic, and has plenty of power for any detail work when combined with the right paper grit.
I use this product to get into the corners of the furniture especially when I'm Sandin the antique desk Corners.
This detail sander is extremely lightweight very easy to use on overhead Crown molding. This is one Extremely Easy to use sander. Especially when it comes to the fine detailed architectural molden
What a handy tool! I don't have another power sander since the sanding I do is usually fine work and would be overkill for a full-size sander. This Orbital Detail Sander fills the gap between hand sanding and a larger sander.
It is easy to operate, light, and maneuvers easily even on non-flat surfaces.
I was very impressed with how fast Milwaukee responded to this issue. I had mailed in my tool on a Tuesday and I received a brand new tool the following Wednesday. One week turn around is amazing. I had text alerts the entire process of this explaining what the updates have been. Milwaukee is amazing!!!
I’m a painting contractor and wanted a little sander for finishing details and tight spaces. This sander far exceeded my expectaions and I find myself reaching for it first for just about any task where a sanding sponge just won’t cut it. I can’t wait to try it on exterior window sills this summer.
As usual, Milwaukee has created the near perfect detail sander. This sander gets those hard to get to spots on your project. It’s lightweight and comfortable to use, and does a great job. This tool saves me hours of hand sanding those pesky contours. The mesh sanding medium seems to last forever.
The only solution for quickly smoothing inside corners where your orbital sander won’t reach, without leaving swirl marks. The included pad is great for sanding routed edges without damaging them, or even softening corners. Screens last a surprisingly long time and are easy to blow out.
Great sander for crafts and furniture refinishing, especially detailed sanding of wooden spools on chairs. I highly recommend getting the 4 Ah battery because the 2 Ah doesn't last very long. I can't say anything derogatory about the sander, but sandijng sheets are hard to come by.
Great tool, very quiet and easy to use. Fits in spaces that are otherwise complicated for normal orbital sanders, and comes with a lot of different sand papper options to try out. Only real knock is trying to find the sandpaper in stores currently is a bit hard, have to order online.
Needed a sander that would fit between styles of wooden railing on our deck. This fit the bill 100%.
Can be a little dusty, but can be very gentle to aggressive in its sanding. You have to let the sander do its job, and don’t push down on it while sanding. Battery life is very good.
