before you all get huffy I know all about safety, but as an electrician in the field, most of my days are troubleshooting. Leave the makeup for the kids. Troubleshooting often means everything is live when looking for problems. Working on live wires with a pair of plyers that has an exposed metal can lend for quite a surprise. I love these things except for the single time I took a shock when using them to strip a wire. I am not a big fan of the plastic lock and spring so I removed those. I would recomend them but with a warning about the shock potential. Make a pair with the insulated grips running up the handle further and I will trumpet these from rooftops.

These are the best strippers on the market klien needs to take a page out of Milwaukee book here. The needle nose stripper combo is Awesome and the reamer would be great but the hashes are placed in the wrong direction. Also the locking mechanism is great but the plastic is just plastic thus breaking easily and gets weak quickly. I would like to see the same design in the locking mechanism but made from the same metal as the pliers or as strong as. And resolve the file design and turn it into a reaming design. I look forward to buying the updated version of this product it will for sure get s 5 star review.

Work mostly residential electric, some commercial. Have tried out numerous wire strippers and these are hands down the best I’ve used. Don’t believe the negative reviews on sharpness. I’ve used the best of the usual brands and they are garbage compared to these. One thing that sets them apart from 99% of other strippers is they easily open enough to cut wires. They strip extremely well and have a great shape as needle nose pliers.I removed my spring and the locking latch and it made them even better. Haven’t had any durability issues (besides the ole post co-worker tying my circuit branch into power without telling me explosion) but they are so much faster than other strippers I’d keep replacing them before using anything else.

This tool should be standard issue for all electricians. Every pair of wire strippers that I've owned, could be used as needle nose pliars, and this is the only one of them that you can actually use for this purpose. They cut and strip wire as good as Klien, or Greenlee, but the needle nose function is what makes them stand out. The reeming function is nice, although I wouldn't use this tool over a reeming conduit driver, or Linesman Pliars, and the locking mechanism needs improvement. Other than that, this tool is awesome.

These strippers are amazing. They're beefy, strong and well built. The lack of a "rivet hinge" makes this tool a real winner. I make use of this tool many times every day, even if I don't strip a single wire. The needle nose is very strong and works fine for knockouts and reaming smaller pipe (1/2"). My only issue is the locking mechanism. It's a plastic slide that tends to 'let go' whenever it decides. If you can get used to just leaving them open and unlocked, they'll make a great addition to your tool pouch.

Best strippers I've ever had . I guess the other people leaving reviews must be cutting whole cables with the jacket still on or cutting some 10 awg or something. I've had mine for a year , and i have no complaints. The wire cutters still look new so do the grips . They're great for making loops with the hole in the hinge or by just grabbing the wire with the nose . Also like having the bolt cutter built in. I will never buy one of those flat stamped steel strippers again.

Apart from the obvious,y (being made in Taiwan...)the only drawback is the "plastic" tool lock. It has A VERY generous cutting area for the wire, and the needlenose part is a very good size also. it is really, really comfortable to use all day long and I generally don't like the "all-in-one type of tools, this really is a stand-alone tool for electricians. I almost always use AWG 12 AND I am more than happy to use this tool alone. Got mine in Mexico!

I’ve been using the 6 in 1 electrical pliers for five weeks now and so far I haven’t had any issues. Built very rugged and haven’t noticed any dulling on the stripper after stripping over 2,000 wires, (90% 18ga), for panel building. I have noticed mild deformation of the cutting edge shown in the red circle of the picture after cutting just a dozen or so larger 10ga wires but nothing that prevents me from using them. This is a problem that may be easily solved by not making the cutting edge too sharp and also making sure the material has the proper hardness. I’ve noticed that some larger copper wires of 12ga or 10ga solid have a greater hardness than say, 16ga or 14ga stranded. With that said, I still have these a 4 star rating for their overall ruggedness because I’ve purchased lower cost brands and had them wear out after stripping just 1,000 wires.
