Milwaukee tools are built to last

I have loved Milwaukee for several years now but what made me continue buying more was when my packout rolling toolbox wheels went bad I contacted Milwaukee trying to find a replacement set and Milwaukee had the best customer service I have ever experienced completely took care of me so I am now a Milwaukee man for life. I have several different types of their tools nail guns, blower, weed eater drills, lights, grinder, etc. and have yet to experience an issue with any of them.

Small light and powerful!

i’ve been wanting a new hammer drill for a while as my old one ( not a Milwaukee) is big and bulky, and I was waiting for something small, light and powerful and this is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
this tool has been added to my collection of Milwaukee fuel battery powered tools that I already own. I needed this tool for a particular job that I was going to be working on in a scissor lift about 25 feet up and it did not disappoint. This was another great purchase.

Off label use of my M18...saved my hobby!

I have other Milwaukee portable drills but most are several years old. They still work great but I need one for a "odd job" that required more power. After an elbow surgery I was unable to start my Stihl chainsaw, I needed my chainsaw operational since I use to support my hobby of woodturning. I happen to remember a mentor of mine starting his lawnmower with a drill, since he is now deceased I scoured youtube and sure enough there was a number of instructional videos on this subject. I followed the instructions on the films but needed a drill with a little more "snot", s I bought a new Mi8 FUEL Hammer Drill! Put together the attachment and fired up the M18 Fuel Driver in #2 mode and the chainsaw kicked over immediately and purred...what a great sound! Thanks Milwaukee, I now can continue my hobby and enjoy my retirement.

No other drill compares!

Amazing drill! Very balanced with little feedback on hammer setting. I owned a version of this drill since 2019, and I just reached a point where I needed another in the toolbox. No other drill in this category, from other companies, compares to the quality of this drill. This drill is heavier, which is great for hammer drilling, but could be tiring above your head for long periods. It’s not enough for me to give this drill anything less than 5 stars.

Great power and features in a small package

My 20+ year old Ridgid 1/2" hammer drill finally had to be retired. I really love my M12 FUEL drill, so I figured the M18 FUEL Hammer Drill would be a good replacement and upgrade for the Ridgid. There is no comparison, the M18 FUEL is nearly half the size, but more than twice the power. The torque release when the drill catchs is fantastic, no more torquing your wrist off. I am super happy with this drill and looking forward to another 20+ years

Powerful Impact Driver

I made the switch over to Milwaukee after smoking the other brands impact. I’m glad I did, the M18 Fuel line has incredible power along with the ability to last for what seams like forever. I tried a buddy’s impact and liked it so I got the whole kit. By far my favorite impact on the market, every tool in this kit is top notch. After having the set for over a week I’m impressed and I will be going to get the multi tool to go with this set. Well Done

Ice fishing and what it was built for

I use this drill for drilling ice fishing wholes in the winter with 8" lite flite bit and it does amazing plenty of power also use it around the house for its main purposes drilling holes running in bolts and screws etc. love this drill and i also love the fact that they went back to the mechanical clutch with this instead of the electric clutch the 2804 had which at lowest setting was a little to high for some things

This Drill is the best out of all other platforms!

I am an iron worker and use my 2904-20 to drill holes in steel up to 1” thick at times and never has it failed on me. It’s power is unmatched compared to other name brands plus the new auto stop I really like because I don’t have to worry about breaking my wrist if the drill gets bound up. I have 2 of the new gen drill and 3 of the last gen. Milwaukee always delivers and will never switch to another platform again.

Powerhouse of a drill!

Great drill. I actually bought this drill for Ice fishing. Plan on using it with a 7.5" K drill auger bit. When I bought it from my local dealer I didn't realize that Milwaukee had come out with the 4th Gen back in August. I thought I was buying the 2804-22 Kit. But when I got home I realized that I had gotten the latest generation model. That's cool. I'm sure it will perform excellent. I'll keep you guys updated.

M18 Fuel Drill

All in all a really good tool. The Variable speed trigger makes drilling different materials super easy and effective. It’s compact but definitely has a lot of power behind it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the attachable side handle only connects to the drill one way and that makes it not usable in some tight spaces. Other than the attachable handle I absolutely love the drill.

I'm writing this review after the first use. I used the drill to run sanding disks rather than to drill anything. For this purpose, the benefits would be entirely different. I found the trigger to be quite heavy after a few minutes. This wouldn't normally bother me if I was drilling, because if a bit took that long to pierce something my problem would be with the bit, not the drill. However, sanding takes a while. I used up both the included 5.0 packs in an hour or two, so I think capacity is acceptable. The drill heated up, but not uncomfortably so, as long as the ventilation ports remain uncovered. I found that I could hold the drill securely and comfortably without covering up the ports. The power was more than adequate. It remains to be seen how much life I took out of the tool with this type of use. I will perhaps edit this review at a later date once I have more information.

Great hammer drill!

Fantastic hammer drill. Really a game changer when drilling pilot holes for tapcons. It’s definitely a great drill for all purpose use as well - I’ve drilled a handful of pocket screw holes so far and I’d say it outperformed my corded rigid for the task. Only minor complaint is the chuck seems to have a slight wobble. Only noticed at full speed with a larger (1/2”) bit but it’s a minor annoyance at most.

Good torque

I picked this as part of the free tool with 6.0AH batteries. I had let the smoke and chunks out of my old 26 series drill after years of hard use. The thing I like about this new drill is the position of the light over the battery pack and the anti counter torque feature. It feels about the same weight as my 27 series fuel hammer drill but it is more compact and has plenty of torque in low speed.

Freshly Opened Set

Just acquired my new toolset, but already am glad I have it. My old cordless tool was struggling with some fasteners; tried them with my new Milwaukee unit and it handled the load no problem. I also have used the new brushless circ saw. Fantastic.. I burned out my last circ saw from another brand, the Milwaukee unit did just fine. This is my first brushless set, even the sound it pretty cool.

Got a super deal on a super drill

I am a small town general contractor. one man show for the most part and my battery platform is Milwaukee . love them all . table saw rear handle and on and on . i did not think I needed this hammer drill at all . Then bang there it was with 2 batteries and a great price . i am as impressed with this drill as any tool I own . All the speed and power I will ever need in a drill. Just crazy good.

Needs a keyed chuck

Used in residential remodeling construction. Plenty of power. Since it has so much torque compared to other cordless drills it really should have a keyed chuck. When drilling through tough materials the chuck can get very tight necessitating using pliers to hold the chuck to unlock the chuck. I probably would not buy this model of hammer drill again choosing to get one with lower torque.

Great drill and works fast

I needed to relocate a ring doorbell to a brick wall. My old Milwaukee drill can’t cut it so I used this excuse to purchase a hammer drill. It’s smaller seemly lighter, works very quickly and chucks down to small drill bits that my old drill has forgotten how to do. I already own other M18 tools and batteries so I was glad to be able to purchase the drill naked. Good purchase happy buyer.

Useful farm tool

Been using it to run a tilther in my market garden beds for the last week with no issues. Using it to drill 100's of 3" by 6" holes in planting beds for transplanting tomatoes, the anti twist is appreciated. No more having a drill jump out of my hand, tweaking my wrist in the process. Now I need you to make a more powerful electric chain saw and a reasonably priced electric mower.

Great set!

I have had sets from three other major manufacturers. This is by far the most powerful cordless set I have used. Tools feel extremely solid! Very happy with my purchase. Can’t wait to add a few more. The amount of tools available is amazing. I have to keep an eye out for promotions otherwise my wife may divorce me. I’ll be keeping an eye out for sales after the holidays!

I saw reviews on YouTube and for those who said there is no difference from gen 3 to gen4 does not use them on the job site. I am an electrician and when you have to drill holes in framing it can be tiresome on the wrist. First it out performs Dewalt. Second it drives hole saw paddle bits and hole saw bits through wood like butter. You won’t regret buying this drill.

Hammer drill performance

This is a workhorse. The drill has gotten smaller but it actually has more torque than the previous model. We use these for hours every day in harsh conditions and they perform really well. Our units take a beating every day and continue to perform flawlessly for us. I’ve been through most cordless tools over the last 30 years and by far Milwaukee is the best.

Looks like another great Milwaukee tool! Although I've not used it yet it, I fully expect it will perform exactly like i want and unless there are "weak" parts hidden in the design (like my Dewalt DCD790D2 Type 1 Drill-Driver, which this is replacing), I'm hoping it will give me the long life that my other Milwaukee power tools have traditionally delivered..

Decent Product but Terrible Support

The tool is fine but online support has failed yet again. I purchased the drill by itself and submitted a request for a part number of a hard case that supports both the drill I purchased and an impact driver. Crickets. CS0171421. A few months ago I asked a question about batteries and it too was not significantly answered. Support is terrible.

quality of the milwaukee drill.

i can say that the tool is powerful enough but the chucks seem to slip when drilling.After so many times of the chuck slipping on drilling projects you either replace the chuck or the drill.also after decades of useing milwaukee products and entering the contest that are offered that by now i would have a least won a milwaukee shirt by now.

Lots of power.

Five star product all the way. Very powerful and comfortable to hold. The improved rubber grip reduces fatigue. The secure lock on the chuck is awesome, it holds a bit more securely. I also own an another Milwaukee M18 1/2” hammer drill, 2607-20 I believe but the improvements on this model are far better. It comes with a removable handle.

Torque Monster

The ver. 4 is a torque monster! The chuck operates well and doesn't appear to loosen. With the right M18 battery, it is balanced very nicely. The trigger allows you to very precisely control the speed for starting screws for example. The only negative i have found is the the handle is a bit fiddly to install but at least it's very secure.

High RPM great for wood drilling.

Great for wood drilling the high RPM has a very high torque and two speed
settings. Quite compact slightly larger than a average driver. Its light but the heft is top forward indicating high quality gearing and motor. Heft is balanced by a a smaller battery for easy handling. Bit jamming injury is reduced by automatic motor shut down.

Amazing Tool

Amazing product. Before I bought this one I had another Milwaukee drill for about 7 years or so. It was time to upgrade and what an upgrade it was! You can instantly tell the difference in power! I’ve only used it a few times to drill into some 1/2” metal and it didn’t disappoint. I’d definitely recommend this product to other users.

Best tools on the market

Ive been using dewalt since i started in this business 15 years ago. Its all ive ever owned. The milwaukee fuel tools completely blow them out of the water. It is night and day. Being so committed to one brand its hard to admit that another is better, but they really are. Ive slowly been switching eveything over to milwaukee now.
