One powerhouse of a grinder. I ended up giving up on my DeWalt FlexVolt grinder. I get all the power with my new Milwaukee Angle Grinder and nowhere near the weight. I’m enjoying this. Very much. I’m going to be doing a lot of tool reviews as I’ll be exchanging my DeWalt for Milwaukee. I have a long way to go but I’ll get there.
The grinder is great, it was a replacement for one that my husband wore out after years of hard use.
Shipping left a lot to be desired, it didn't move for 2 weeks until I filled out a survey then couldn't be delivered to me and wasn't left where I told the guy to leave it so I had to go on a treasure hunt around town to find it
20 minutes hard grinding on a 5.0 battery and didnt even slow down.
I thought it might run iy down quik for what i was doing but not even close. Didnt get hot. I used it to cut 1/4 inch mild 14 inches at a time with a grinding pad. Was all i had at the time.ground off all the edges after and still had half a battery. Impressed!
I have retired all my other grinders. I wish i had not waited so long to purchase this amazing tool.I have a bad habit of abusing my tools. With Milwaukee tools it seems like the tool will abuse me. This grinder is a shop tool and employees will take it home for personal projects. I hear nothing but praise for this grinder.
Great grinder. Powerful enough for what I need, and then some. My only complaint is with the paddle switch. It’s just kinda awkward. I definitely prefer a regular switch like you’d see on most other angle grinders. But all in all it’s a good, well made tool. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars was the paddle switch.
The grinder seems good. I have only used it once so far to cut off about 20 pieces of rebar. I took one star off because it went through an 8 AH battery and 3/4 of another to do these cuts. I am not sure what they were cutting to get to the 135 cuts. All in all it made short work of the job and I would buy the tool again.
The convenience of a cordless grinder is totally worth it. I really didn’t think it would be that big of a deal but I find myself grabbing this grinder any time I need to grind. The auto stop of the wheel is a nice feature that I’m liking more and more. Grinder works like it should, has handled any task I’ve ask of it.
I like cordless tools. Cord is one less thing to drag around while working. I use the tool around the house. I have small jobs and can just grab the grinder add sanding wheel, grinder disk, cut-off wheel or concrete cutting disk and then I go. Tool seems to have more than enough power for what I have done so far.
Originally 5 years ago, I purchased a non Fuel grinder by Milwaukee by mistake. I had decided to go with it anyway and it handled large tasks quite well before overheating and dying 5 years later.
As with all Milwaukee M18 Fuel products, this grinder does not fail. Powerful, runs cool and makes big jobs small.
This grinder has exceeded my expectations. Even with the 5Ah battery - the tool is well balanced and easy to handle and position for cuts in different situations. I was primarily using it for cutting through 1/2" rebar and it did it without hesitation. After making about 40 cuts, it still had over half battery.
This grinder is great! It has plenty of power to drive though whatever the task at hand is. The braking system on it is great too, you let off the paddle and she stops! Great safety feature for when others are working around you and you don’t want the grinder taking off across the shop floor when you set it down.
I love this grinder, I wish is used X-Lock besides that I really can’t complain, I tend to use my electric grinders but if it’s something quick I don’t want to drag extension cords out, or working where there is no power, this is amazing, plenty of power, uses my other M18 batteries, keep up the good work
This grinder works great it has a lot of power and the battery last long the tool feels sturdy and well balanced . Highly recommend it for cutting metal or cutting tile. The size is compact and doesn’t take up too much space in my toolbox. The only thing it’s missing is a carrying hook to carry on my pouch
Great grinder, needs more then a 5amp hour battery

I have owned the grinder for two weeks now and it great for sanding and grinder small parts. The paddle switch works but your hand get sore from holding it the whole time a locking switch would be great. Unfortunately a 5amp hour battery only last and hour or two the grinder needs an 8amp to run all day.
Lighter than expected with the 6.0 ah battery. Simple to use and easy to adjust the guard to whatever position needed. Paddle response is great for adjusting the needed speed. From cutting chainlink fence poles to knocking off rust to a smooth new metal finish. Definitely will be put to many other uses.
This grinder is a big upgrade from the non-fuel option with better run-time on the same batteries, a much nicer handle with a spring in it to absorb vibration, & a non-marring cover to the shield. There was a lot of good thought put into this fuel version of the M18 4 1/2 grinder. I am happy I upgraded!
I went back and forth between the paddle switch and the on/off switch. I went with this paddle switch and im glad. The paddle to turn it on is the perfect size being big enough to locate and not strain your palm. The thing stops so quick its crazy. No problem with cutting power either. Would buy again.
I had to replace an older model M18 grinder. I liked the features especially the paddle switch is user friendly even with gloves on. The guys on the crew really like the power and braking too. They were also cleaning stubborn concrete off shovels with the wire wheel, I just hit them with a hammer....
I have already pushed this grinder hard and it has held up remarkably well! Not quite as much power as a corded unit, but it seems to have more torque and the true versatility of the grinder is that I am not tied to an outlet. If I ever manage to break this grinder, I will most likely buy another!
Great build quality and power when using just a 4.0ah batt, however the reason for not 5 star. The spark guard works as it should but it’s not a nice fit. I’m rather embarrassed, the way it flops around when locked in place not sure if this is random on mine on if all have this problem feature no
It does what you need it to do, the paddle switch I think is the the best part of it. I hope the moving parts of the switch last, but with a five year warranty there’s really no reason to worry. I don’t use this tool every day but I’m glad I finally have a grinder in my arsenal of 18v tools.
Easy to adjust guard allowing you to use the grinder at any angle you wish.
The handle can screw into both sides for right/left hand use.
Paddle switch is an easy to use safety feature that came in handy when accidentally bumping into something and losing grip on grinder, shuts off fast.
Great grinder, a xc5.0 battery lasts for a good long while! I do see why the angled head and slim profile one was a bit more expensive but if your not trying to grind in tight spaces this one is perfect. The auto stop function comes in handy for quick handling as well, overall 4.5 out 5.
The auto stop feature stuff working within a week... The grinder overall is a fantastic tool however this purchase just need specifically for the safety feature which does not last. I currently own three of these grinders and not one of these had the safety feature last more than a week.

The best grinder made

This is a superior product compared to other brands. Well built and a super dealer network. So much safer than an electric corded model. I use mostly thin cuts and have never had one explode with this grinder. This model has the quick stop and I like that making it faster to set aside.
This is an awesome grinder. This is the first grinder this type that I’ve ever owned and so far I love it. I’ve only used cut off wheels in it, but I can see it’s potential. Comfortable to hold the paddle trigger is a nice feature. Ramps up to speed quickly and brakes quickly as well.
I like this grinder I have four of them now it handles really well gets into tight spaces this is my first one without a safety it's kind of handy when I needed to keep running it still has guards it's just annoying switch that keeps you from running it I'll get another one next year
This grinder is nothing short of the quality you expect from Milwaukee. The well thought out ergonomics and quality build make this grinder a great addition to my packout box. With the grip being easy to get your hand around . I just added it to my collection but I’m pleased so far.
I bought this grinder a few weeks ago because I needed a new one for work. All of my cordless tools were Milwaukee so it was a no brainer to buy another one. I’ve put a lot of hours on it already, never had a complaint. I will recommend you buy 5.0 or 6.0 batteries with it though.

Great Ergonimics

I chose this grinder for several reasons over other brands for multiple reasons. One of the deciding factors was the overall ergonomics that it has. The weight balance, along with the paddle gives a comfortable and controlling feeling even with arthritic hands to get the job done.
