Absolutely happy with this grinder.

I have almost replaced my corded 4 1/2 grinders with this one, I have a DeWalt 20v 4-1/2 grinder and this one outperforms it by a fair margin. I am not going to lie and say that it outperforms my corded grinders, (maybe it outperforms some cheaper ones but a good Milwaukee or DeWalt 12 amp corded grinder will out preform it, however I find that it has plenty of power to get the job done and is very convenient to use on jobs where dragging around cables is a bother.
If I have 3 rapid chargers and four 5ah batteries I can keep it feed for some pretty heavy usage without ever having to stop for a charging battery.
In the end one of my best Milwaukee purchases.

Only a single speed and a very noisy gear train

Milwaukee makes several M18 grinders so be careful what you buy. This model is one speed only. I thought I was getting the variable speed one when I ordered. I needed to use it when it arrived so I cannot return it now. I may put it on Craigslist if the single speed bothers me too much.
The grinder has decent power but the gear train is very noisy and rough sounding. You can tell this is the "cheap" version and not the higher end model. Battery life is good even with the 5 AH pack.
I would not suggest buying this unless you can deal with a single speed and are not going to use the tool very hard. Otherwise, the higher end grinders would be my suggestion.

Excellent, Powerful, smooth

Works like a champ. I use it regularly and it has wonderful power and does a great job. The only down fall of ALL grinders on the market, is the Y or T prong tool that doesn't attach to it for removing the center nut. So no matter where you are, it never fails, your tool is either lost or left behind somewhere else when you need to change a blade, disk, grinding wheel etc. They need to invent a better way to secure that without a big 2 prong bar, or mold a thin slot into the handle for the Y or T prong nut remover, so you always have a means of breaking that nut lose.
But all in all, this tool is excellent.

Be more productive

Well Balanced and Productive Tool, it takes everything you throw at it and then some. Granted it’s a battery loving tool if you don’t ease up on the pressure you are applying upon it let the tool do its job and you will see how much further the battery life will take you! I absolutely love using this grinder for it’s well Balanced and comfortable to use with the anti vibration handle makes a big difference when using it, very versatile and powerful the adjustable guard that you can make sparks fly away from you and debris from hitting your body. Light weight less fatigue wether you’re grinding sanding cutting whatever it is this tool can take it you forget that you are not plugged into a receptacle, works that well!

I'd never used a braking grinder before getting this one and had actually inquired to a friend what the advantage of that feature would be. Happened to have it in my pickup when I went went to work couple days after buying this. Needed to cut these black "coated" Aluminum handrails to size and install. Any little nick sticks out like a soar thumb. We had upwards of $15k in tools stolen a couple months ago and this was the moment we realized everything but the port a band had been replaced. This grinder worked awesome! Made me understand what the brake was meant for!

Very Convenient!

I love this grinder! The power is there, it’s quiet, great feel in your hand. I personally use this for quick cuts or prepping for welds. It’s awesome not having to find the nearest power outlet and bring out the extension chord, you have this and saves you so much time and hassle getting set up and time is money. Very often you find yourself not anywhere near a power outlet or they’re being used up, this saves you from having to wait to plug in or when there’s no power at all.
Obviously if you’re doing some heavy grinding, you might want to consider the chorded because who wants to burn through batteries? I find this my first choice over my Milwaukee chorded grinder due to just being so convenient. Great choice here!

Smooth with a brake stop

It was nice to purchase a high quantity grinder with brake and two 6.0 batteries. I used it today on a pc of tile in a bathroom when a new vanity was installed. The foot print of the vanity was larger and I used my Milwaukee osculating tool to cut the lath wire and thin set. Then installed a 4 1/2" diamond blade on the grinder and the tile piece cut like butter with no water! The bearings are tight on this grinder, not like my old corded grinder (another brand) that chipped tile everytime. I am looking foreword to using the cut off disk on metal.

Great product

Having started welding school and using their old beast up Dewalt corded grinders I decided I wanted my own. I have lots of different Milwaukee tools so it was easy to decide this was the one. I like the rubber grip handle as it isolates vibration from my hand. The lock button is easy to manipulate to change out different disc's. The rapidstop is a great feature. I have to take two batteries with me because if I am cleaning my materials fore a fit up I can burn through a M18 XC 6.0 battery by lunch. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
