Good Quality. Poor Safety.

Switch is clumsy to turn on, especially with gloves on. I couldn't operate it without locking the switch in the on position because it's not near where I hold the body of the grinder. This also makes it so I have to let go of the grinder with one hand to shut it off again.
Using to grind paint and even with power locked on if you bump it with your hand it shuts off. And first time it fell (from less then 2ft) it broke the lock to change blades. Good motor runs strong seen alot of hours fast.they just dont make things like they used to

Gets the job done with ease!

I originally had an angle grinder made by the company which is most recognizable by their signature aqua blue colored products the angle grinder was a 7.5 amp 4.5" angle grinder which was awesome, but when it came time to get a new grinder I decided to go with Milwaukee. First impressions of this angle grinder were that the guard design is very stout and easy to move about (even with bulky welding gloves), the design of the spanner wrench is a big plus (I never fear about busting my knuckles on the guard), and the weight of the tool is very light. While using the grinder I did notice that it wasn't always easy to turn on with welding gloves on, but honestly... welding gloves are for welding and not for grinding or cutting so I cannot complain too much. The grinder itself is well balanced, easy to control, and seems to effortlessly power through any obstacle. I utilize this tool most often in automotive applications and it has never left me hanging. I highly recommend this grinder to anyone looking for a good and sturdy grinder.

Great for the small jobs

Don't be fooled by the compact design. This grinder can get the job done.. as long as it's a smaller project. For the avid DIY person this tool is a must have and will save you countless hours around the house.
I use this primarily to cut mild steel and aluminum. The only thing I would change about this tool is a paddle switch instead of a button. Otherwise I love this tool. Fits my needs perfectly.
I got this grinder at the big orange box store that sells Milwaukee one the carriers and paid 94 I because I got the 12 dollar warranty for two years I didn’t know about the Milwaukee warranty but some companies are funny about replacing or repairing them and take months possibly to get the tool back repaired but the usage is good powerful motor good cutting action (U know good cutting period) and got it because my dad uses Milwaukee everything thing except Mac tools which are an step up above yeah don’t speak any other tool brand but but Milwaukee is owned owned by techtronic industrials but Stanley black and decker owns Mac tools but anyway the guard is ok but very aggravating to figure out at first because it unlike any other grinder and the old school method by screw it on the grinder with an clamp I believe is period ALOT better and I feel better secure using the screw on method but it not industrial get an 9 amp tool or higher depending on brand name but usually 9 amps and higher is the ticket but would I get this grinder yeah for budget grinding tool yeah. But be cautious about the guard it’s weird but stable and don’t LOSE THE SPRING and was fixing to take it back to the big orange box store (u know what I mean) and I found the clamp and and after playing with it BOOM THANK THE LORD JESUS I found it but anyway the guard is eh 3.5 five stars on the guard like my dads craftsman is better then this but 100% recommended this
I bought another brand based on prior experience. This other brand has always been a pro-grade tool. Well, their grinder was much louder and vibrated terribly. I returned it and got another thinking it was defective. The replacement was just as bad and even vibrated the wrench out of the handle. After returning that grinder, I bought a different brand that had all the features I wanted (3 position handle, type 1 & type 27 guard, tool-less guard adjustment). It was just as loud and rough as the first one. After inspection, they appeared to be the same tool, but with different accessories and switch types. I bought a really cheap one from you know where and it lacked power and got very hot quickly. Then I bought a yellow one and it didn't vibrate as bad but was still very loud. The guard was goofy to adjust and the warranty is only 3 years. The Milwaukee didn't have ALL the features I wanted, but it had most and the attention to detail is fantastic. The guard is easy to adjust, the spanner wrench doesn't bust your knuckles and the handle is comfortable. This grinder is smoother and quieter than anything of the other 3 I've tried (~3dbA quieter according to my meter). It's so much so that it tricks you into thinking it doesn't have as much power as the others. I thought that too until I actually ground a weld bead with it. It has just as much power as any other 7 amp or less tool and is noticeably lighter. It also is noticeably smoother, especially with a grinding wheel. Great price, great performance and a great warranty!
