[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed holes on my planter boxes. This drill bit delivered perfect round holes. Next I needed holes on my planter pots - again it was a breeze. This multi drill bit basically a much better and faster job and it was an easy fit into the drill too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the 1/2” shockwave carbide multi -material drill bit to review and it is a very good quality drill bit. Perfect size, easy to load into the drill and drills smoothly and consistently. Definitely a great value and great craftsmanship.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shockwave drill bit worked well for my as I was using it to drill holes in my planter box. It worked perfectly in my drill and left nice clean holes I would of like it to have a better tip on it but that is just a personal preference.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this Milwaukee multi-material drill bit in hanging my exterior sliding barn door and it performed flawlessly. I needed a bit that would work with concrete blocks as well as wood and I'm so glad I found one that could do both.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this 5 piece carbide drill bit set and it it very versatile as far as the many jobs you can use them for. The different sizes included are just right for most projects. These make a nice addition to any tool set. Good quality.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect size for my needs! I needed a drill bit that could be used to drill holes in the bottom of ceramic garden pots for drainage. I was able to drill 3 and 4 holes in the pots without cracking!
Cutts through concrete like butter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got his bit for my husband who works in construction, and he likes it so far. Uses it daily on different materials and hasn’t had any issues with the drill bit performance at all. Is definitely a brand he will be purchasing again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 1/2" Mke Tool SHOCKWAVE Carbide Multi-Material Drill Bit is heavy duty!! There is no worry that it will break drilling into heavy material. This thing is huge and built tough and you know that it will get the job done!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 1/2" SHOCKWAVE™ Carbide Multi-Material Drill Bit has not let me down. I have used it several times and it still glides just as well as the first time. Definitely recommending this to others looking for a quality bit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great drill bit. I have used it on a few different types of material, wood, metal and plastic. The bit worked well on all materials and surfaces. I will be added bit of this brand to my toolbox in the future.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This drill bit will go through any material. I used to drill a hole in bricks to put in an electrical plug and it drilled in no time. Got through the brick with no trouble. Great product to have for drilling any material
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great purchase. Held up well after several uses and did not require much pressure to penetrate the CMU wall. Went back and bought a bunch more in a few different sizes so I could
Finish the job. Would recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the drill bit and it looked to be of great quality. Looks can be deceiving but in this case, the drill bit performed as needed. I used it for a small project I had at home and it did not dissapoint.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the multi-material drill bit set to drill through a concrete wall and had no issues; very happy with this set. I would recommend this set for any construction project especially if needed for concrete.
Could not drill 1 complete hole in concrete floor before the bit wore out (see pic). The 3/8 bit worked fine on dozen other holes but this 1/2 did not. Appears to be a defect. Like to get a free replacement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Work as with tool experience for the house it's amazing I would recommend this tool for and job. Big or small I will be buying this product for tools and other products for my home business and my wife
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a drill-bit, drilled a few holes through some typical 2 x 4s and plywood for a self-help project and worked as expected. I have yet to have the opportunity to use it for any metal, concrete, etc.
Love Milwaukee I own at least 18 to 20 M18 fuel tools. Thought these would be great bits. Literally broke every one in about 10 minutes. And yes I know how to drill a hole in concrete.

Broken tip
il y a un an
The tip on my 5/32 bit broke on the first attempt. I’ve seen many more reviews saying their tips are breaking too. I’m hoping maybe I just happened to get a defective batch.
I'll give it 2 stars just because it made it through 10 holes before completely dying, worked amazing first hole drilling on 4 month old slab by the way in 30° weather...

IMPRESSIVE DRILL BIT
il y a 3 ans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 1/2" SHOCKWAVE™ Carbide Multi-Material Drill Bit appears to be a good quality bit.
This bit is 1/2" diameter x 4” fluted x 6” overall length bit. It is similar in appearance and design to other masonry bits, but has two distinct differences. First, rather than the common round shank, this bit has a 1/4" hex shank which is potentially beneficial in two ways. The hex shank provides for improved grip and retention in the drill chuck, since the jaws should not easily slip on the flats of the hex shank. Additionally, the 1/4" hex shank fits the collet of 1/4" impact driver tools. The second difference that I observed is that the lands of the flutes are narrower and the grooves of the flute are wider than my other masonry and twist bits. I suspect that the wider grooves are designed to carry away and clear out more material, faster than typical masonry bits. The bit size is clearly stamped on the shank.
I own and use Milwaukee hammer drills and impact drivers, including the outstanding M18 brushless tools which provide outstanding performance and are extremely powerful. This Shockwave bit can be used in both the drill and impact driver, however I generally use impact drivers to drive fasteners, and not to drill holes.
I have used this bit for the brief time that I have owned it in my Milwaukee 2804 hammer drill, which is a powerful workhorse drill, and is the most powerful cordless hammer drill I have ever used.
The Shockwave bit drilled into cured 2500 psi concrete, CMU block and 3000 psi grout just as expected. It drilled with reasonable speed and effort. The carbide tip appears to be sharp and the bit does a nice job of removing material and clearing the hole as drilling progresses.
The Multi-Material design of the Shockwave bit is unique. Drilling wood and plastic was generally easy and effective, however, the carbide, masonry shaped tip of the bit does not have a point which is as sharp as a twist bit of the same size, which allows the Shockwave bit to drift more than twist bits when starting holes in metal, wood or plastic.
The Multi-Material design is better put to use with stacked materials, rather than using it in place of a twist bit for starting holes in non-masonry materials. Where it proved useful and very effective, was when drilling through wood attached to masonry, such as drilling through bucks or ledger boards and into the masonry substrate. Of course, I need bits longer than this 4” bit for drilling holes for wedge anchors through 2”x wood bucks into block and/or cast concrete.
Overall, I think that the Shockwave bit is a very good bit with a good design. It performs similarly to my other masonry bits. What remains unknown is the durability and longevity of the bit, as only time and use will reveal that. I expect drill bits to remain usable for a long time, and to continue cutting fast and well through the materials that they are intended for drilling into.
Based on my experience with the Milwaukee Shockwave bit so far, I am optimistic that this bit will remain in my tool bag for a long time.
