A swing and a miss
il y a un an
Let me start off by saying I am a Milwaukee fan and have a ton of their tool but this headlamp really is not very good at all. I am now in my 3rd one in about 2 years, the headband stretches to the point it is unusable, the plastic hinge and tabs that hold the the light break, the light output is fair at best even on high and this entire battery system is plagued with connection problems. I am an auto mechanic and use's a headlamp for most of the day. I love the design including the extra strap over the top of your head that really makes it more comfortable and helps to keep it in place. I really hope they improve these in the future as I truly believe with some tweaks these could be great! I would love to hear from Milwaukee so I can share my input to help create an improved model!

Doesn't fit most hardhats, battery falls off
il y a 5 mois
Light output itself is great, but that's about where it ends. Battery clip mount to the strap constantly falls off, almost like its too tight for the hardhat. Not sure why it was designed with the cutout to remove it from the strap. The power cord between the battery compartment and the light is too short for a standard sized hardhat, so the battery compartment needs to be offset to the side of the hardhat. Not too sure how these issues wern't caught in R&D, these seem like pretty basic things.
Hi, bought this product plus the spare battery and charger shortly after. this was in the last year. the battery packs for this are absolute garbage. some times get low.battery warning flash 5 mins after fresh battery swap. usuall swapping batteries 2-4 times a day depending on use. when bought second battery and charger the cap would not sit proper on charger. exchanged, second one works
i Run yellow tools and was gonna venture imto the Red. with battery issues will be staying put.

WHY MILWAUKEE SUCH BAD TOOL???
il y a un an
We brought two Milwaukee head lamps early this year, both have problems/doesn't work.
(1) doesn't turn on, completely dead and wont charge at all after only a few months of use. And the other ones (LED) is horrible and the black USB thing near charging port is broken and charges very very slow. WONT HOLD CHARGE. My business has been using Milwaukee tools for a long time now, everything is heavy duty but this. I'm very sad/disappointed.

Awesome
il y a 5 ans
I bought this light a couple of months ago and I'm glad I did, this thing is awesome. I use this light for working under semi trucks and occasionally on my car. I dont use my tripod light or drop light much anymore this light is so easy to carry and no set up. However I use this light on medium or low because on high the battery runs out to fast but on medium or low it still has plenty of lumens to see easily. Overall great light
Light output is great, the modes and mode button are well placed and are great. I use it both in my garage and for taking out our dog at night.
Unfortunately, the light stopped working intermittently. It recognizes it has battery power, but won't turn on. After removing the battery and putting in a different the light works, but only for power cycle. Can be repeated every time.
Love the light, just need it to work.

Liked so much I bought for friends
il y a 4 ans
Great for work and play esp during dark season in northern latitudes. I put it on my head before leaving for the shop. I wear it fixing vehicles & equipment in the shop, in the field, day or night. It goes camping with me. It’s probably one of the most indispensable tools I own. And the fact that I don’t have to spend a fortune on batteries means it saves me money and waste in battery replacements.
After I purchased the 2111-21 model I didn’t think Milwaukee could top off such a great, rechargeable headlamp, but they did with this one. Only had it for a day and I love it. Not the biggest fan of the the huge battery I have to carry on the back of my head, but for that many lumens/brightness I can live with it. Plus the front part is so slim and small, it makes up for it. You did it again Milwaukee.
I bought this lamp 3 years ago and it still goes strong. Great brightness settings and durable. I have it mounted to my hardhat so the only issue I can say is the cord is stretched out to its max length to fit but that is because it is meant to go on your head not a hardhat.
USB-C charging would be the best upgrade for this. possibly longer cord and elastic strap to allow use on standard hardhats
As others have stated, cord is too short to have lamp and battery pack center on a hard hat at the same time. Fix that and you have a real winner. With that issue it is still better than having all the weight of the battery in front. The brightness , slim profile and field of view are spot on. The single function button , which eliminates cycling through brightness steps add to ease of use.
I bought 475's for all our employees and everybody loves them, i decided to move up to the 600 but unfortunately the power cable does not reach around the hard hat properly (Milwaukee brand too) and it will slowly pull the battery pack off to one side shifting the weight feels and looks awkward, going back to the 475 which is an awesome lamp, too bad to give up on it as the output is superb

I like It but wanted to love it

I am a Journeyman Lineman that has to respond to emergencies and outages in all types of weather and conditions. The High Deff light quality is unmatche. Love the battery life! But the dang thing doesn’t fit very well on my full brim hard hat! Yes I can make it fit and I’m sure that it works on the Milwaukee hard hats but I work for the Power company and I can’t wear a Milwaukee hard hat.
Hello! This light will work with other hard hats besides the Milwaukee Hard Hat. It works best if you remove the center and use clips. -Cayla with Milwaukee Tool

Good light if you dont need it on a hard hat

Like other reviews mention, this doesnt fit ANY of the Bolt model hard hats, and ive only been able to fit this to one brand of cheap-o hats around the jobsite. The light itself is made well, comfortable to use and has decent battery life. The short cord is definitely the only downfall for this headlamp, which seems to be a silly thing to overlook considering it doesnt fit most hats.
Exceptional and extremely bright light for a headlamp. I have purchased this headlight for my husband who is constantly repairing machinery. He has had this headlight for approximately a year and is noticing that the interior of the lens is turning a blackish grey, almost like it is being scorched on the inside. Disappointing considering the cost of this headlamp.

Really like the light but don't know how much longer I can rely on it. The cord entering the battery compartment is starting to pull out and the clip holding the battery compartment to the strap cracked and I had to tape it on. Supposedly the light has a limited lifetime warranty but I have hit a dead end with warranty centers. Milwaukee - can you help me out?

Love the amount of light output and light weight
il y a un an
I am an electrician and need a head lamp frequently, this item never seems to take a full charge. I have only had it a month or two and charging light never turns yellow or green always pulsing red. I love the light output and the weight but if it doesn't take a charge its worthless. I will try to have company order replacement battery hope its just that.

I’m not sure yet
il y a 5 ans
I just got it and haven’t had a chance to use it yet but I can see an issue with it on a hard hat. The battery holder doesn’t like to stay on the band and there isn’t quite enough cord to have the light cantered in the front and the battery centred around back. I’ll update after a week with it but if the battery doesn’t stay put, it could be a problem.
Junk junk junk. Extremely disappointing for a fairly expensive tool. Bought mine about a month ago, had to Jerry-rig it to even fit my full brim hard hat (battery cord is way too short). Went a week with out using it, dead, charged it for a full day, still dead, battery light flashing red. Won’t hold a charge. Going to put it in my garage disposal.

Does not work on full brim hardhat
il y a 5 ans
I bought this light and tried mounting it on my full brim hard hat but the head band would not stretch enough and the wire harness from the battery pack to the light was too short. I bought a Milwaukee full brim hat hoping it would work better but it also didn’t work properly. I had to modify the light to make it mount on the hardhat.
Hello Medina80, we will follow up via email with more information. Thank you-Mackenzie

Head band stretched out after 2 years
il y a 2 ans
This head lamp has been my daily driver for around 2 years now, it has been amazing, the battery system works great! I have another flashlight the uses the same USB Lithium battery so if love of my lights runs out I just simply swap the batteries!
I need a new head band though mine falls off of my head is very frustrating.
Bought mine 3 years ago. its been through all weather and use and still holds up. Great brightness durability.
Only changes that should be made are USB-C charging and longer straps and cord to fit hardhats as it does come with the clips.I had to max out both to fit it onto my hardhat.
Other than that, great product.
I use this primarily for under-dash jobs, but keep finding new uses for it. The swivel down feature is the most handy for me. I already use the rechargeable pocket(marginal for that) light and love it too. I tried the more pocket friendly pen light but returned it due to the difficult switch and lack of a magnet.
I find these head lamps just awesome, I'm heavy equipment and truck mechanic. These lights are far more superior then the ones I used before. I can see more and troubleshoot better.I just wish we could have just the rechargeable batteries and just swap the battery out and recharge the other one in its own charger.
This will not fit my hard hat correctly. The power cord is too short causing the battery pack to be off center in the back to ensure the light says centered in the front. Had to buy the other 450 lum rechargeable lights. Would love to get one with a longer power cord between the battery and light. Pics to follow.

I bought this and thought it was the best ever and it is really nice however the Micro USB port is starting to fail as well as the heavy duty micro usb cord the tiny plug doesn’t hold up to time and use that’s why they created newer usb models to replace this ancient port now cmon Milwaukee bring us the new tech

Loved the concept. After opening package I initially charged light overnight. First test produced a very bright light I thought this would be assume. One week later when I needed the light the battery was dead. Charged again overnight and it worked. Checked light again after 5 hours and battery dead again.

Horrible product. 1) won't fit on new Milwaukee brand hard hats. 2) cord from battery pack and straps to short to use with Milwaukee hard hats. 3) back battery housing keeps coming off of straps
And for this review you require me to list my trade yet don't have elevator constructor on the list
