Sold on Milwaukee after this buy

High quality, very durable. This is my first milwaukee power tool purchase. I am impressed, to say the least. Higher quality, and better performance than my old 18v tools. I thought about sticking with the other guys but heard good things about milwaukee. Glad I tried. Bought a couple more of the fuel tools since this purchase. Will hopefully be switching out the rest of my tools with milwaukee from now on

M12 FUEL 2-Tool Combo - Initial Feedback

Haven't used the tool much as of yet but the impact driver surprised me by loosening wheel lugs tightened to 110lbft and subsequently drove them on beyond that without effort. The drill seems equally capable. I drilled through a 2X4 with an 1-3/4 hole saw without the drill labouring hardly at all. Torque wasn't wrist snapping but I was surprised at how hard it did try to twist the drill out of my grip.

The best drill / driver combo I've owned.

I received this as a gift, I was very impressed with the weight and power both tools have. I've used them for over a year now and still like how well they do the job. While they are smaller than many of the other drills and drivers they are equal in ability and above in quality. I have other brands that now sit in a cabinet (I can't bring myself to get rid of them) and use these tools exclusively.

Comfort and power

I needed a smaller drill for some hobby work and was shocked at the versatility of the M12 drill and impact driver. I find that I’m constantly reaching for the M12 tools over my larger tools for bigger jobs. The size and weight reduction makes a huge difference without losing power. I’ve already made another M12 purchase with the M12 stubby 3/8 impact wrench. I can’t wait to try it out.

Bad quality control

After using the impact driver for a month and loving it I finally had a job for the hammer drill. The trigger fell off immediately. I barely had the bit locked in and it just dropped out. Looks to be secured by a plastic/carbon plug. After seeing others with the same issue and it failing in the same spot it's clearly a qc issue. Will be interesting to see if Milwaukee makes this right.

Great tools, the size doesn’t affect the power

Great tools, love the size of them, I have the m18 drill/driver but these are incredibly handy for finer projects and if you’re having to work above your head, the batteries don’t last as long if you’re doing high torque stuff for longer periods so these aren’t the greatest for that but that’s why they make the m18, overall these are my favorite drill/driver and definitely worth it

I got this to replace a 18V (another brand) on combo that I had before but the drill broke down and I wanted something smaller for what I use it for. This was perfect. It's lighter and smaller but seems like it delivers just as much power and torque. In hindsight, I wish I had bought these in the first place. I cannot say yet for their longevity but they have a reasonable warranty.

Plenty of beef for a home owner

I have used a 9.6v Makita drill for 25 years. It has been through many batteries over the years, and I finally decided to replace it. It did just about everything I needed at home for handy work. These deliver! Ran a 1 3/4” hole saw (albeit carefully) in 2x material. The impact is plenty for driving even long deck screws. I’m happy for the light weight and compact size.

The impact is awesome! Does everything I need it to do. Sounds super solid. And is nice and small. The drill however isn’t great. It gets stuck with Diablo paddle bits, it can’t mix tile mortar more than a few inches deep, and the “hammer” feature is more of a kitten’s purr. I’d definitely use the impact for everything. But the drill doesn’t seem to have the power I need.

The Best M12 Combo Kit You Can Buy Right Now

Very happy with this combo kit! I've been looking to upgrade my old drill/driver for awhile now and this M12 FUEL kit was the perfect solution. I love the light weight and power of the drills, and the batteries are very small and not clunky which is nice too. Only difficult thing I sometimes have is squeezing the batteries out of the tools, but otherwise it's a great kit!

Small, compact, handy

This is a very small, light weight option of average screw driving, and light drilling. The hammer drill function is great for tapcons, and small anchors in concrete. Impact driver is great for self tappers, and device mounting (outlets, switches, ect). Batteries last pretty well under normal use. Hammer drilling, or constant drilling may need recharging more regularity.

Excellent quality - great set

I use these days in and day out, and would not trade them for anything else. They are perfect for me as a mechanic. Have great power and a compact size. They get used and abused hard each day and they keep on working. Have used them for years and they are still going strong. Only thing that has ever gone out on me was the charger. Great tool set recommend to everyone.

I love this impact driver, but my one complaint is the placement of the button that reverses the direction of rotation. I'm right-handed and it's just too easy to accidentally push the button for clockwise, when your intention was to unscrew a bolt or screw (counter-clockwise).
I inadvertently did this recently, and consequently stripped the head of a screw on my car.

Most Satisfying Purchase

One of the most satisfying power tool purchases I’ve ever made. A true upgrade. Lighter tools with more power causing me to sit my m18’s to the side for a while. Installations have been more fun, faster, and depending on the project, more accurate thanks to the weight-loss. All the above mentioned then toss in the tri-LED’s… tossin’ my money right at you Milwaukee :-P

These tools are top notch. Great power and functionality. The price of the kit is great. The M12 works great for me because it’s enough to handle my regular diy applications, with the occasional heavy use tasks if needed with out the need for the M18 tools. I can handle household tasks and go help build a deck on a weekend and not feel like I need something bigger.

So far this tool is exactly what I hoped it would be and some. I went back and forth on this or the 18v fuel set. I did a lot of research and still stood in the store for an hour debating. I was worried it wouldn’t be powerful enough, I don’t know why I ever doubted it. It works WAAAY better than I had expected. I’m very happy with my choice. Milwaukee Everything!

Nice and compact and does most jobs

Excellent performance out of the impact for smaller screws and tight quarters work. The chucked drill is nice to get different attachments into but is quite underpowered to really do anything you expect a chuck drill to do except the most lightest of tasks. Still a very useful addition. I would skip the drill and just get the 1/4 driver if you can find a sale.

Improve production, save time

Great buy, get more than one. I highly recommend this combo product.
I sometimes have multiple projects going on at one time and having a dedicated M12 FUEL 2-tool combo kit on each project saves time, saves money , saves headaches.
Don’t waste time going back to your truck to get a screw gun or drill every time you try to do something.

Comes with different contractor bag

Tools work great very impressed but... mine did not come with the contractor bag pictured.
I actually hate my contractor bag because the zipper jams when it is zip up all the way.
So far I love the Milwaukee brand because they seem to release products that have all the bugs figured out. Just bought the M18 Short Throw looking forward to that tool too.

These two tools have tons of power. I was expecting less power because im used to using 20v drills and drivers. I was surprised at the amount of driving power with the impact driver. Nice and light and compact too. It will be interesting to find out how they hold up to harder work like constant driving. So far though.... two thumbs up for this set.

Not bad, not great

Plenty of power in both the drill and driver. I was surprised at how quickly the 4aH battery needed a recharge however. The drill/driver set it replaced had superior battery life to the Milwaukee doing the same work. Its my first Milwaukee purchase and I'll give it a year of solid use before deciding to invest further in the M12 or M18 product lines.

Don't be fooled by 12V

Do not let the 12V power fool you. These tools are just as torquey and stout as 18V-20V tools, just smaller and lighter, and the drill chuck is 3/8" max, not 1/2". With the small high output batteries, with one in the tool and one in the charger, I was able to bore dozens of 1" holes with no delays by swapping batteries. Pro tools at a great price.

I've spent time in the automotive industry and house projects. Veterans of the automotive industry chose Milwaukee over the tool trucks most of the time. Best milwaukee tool I've purchase to date

Ive been using the Milwaukee M12 fuel 2 tool combo kit for a couple of weeks now and they are absolutely awesome. I really like how compact they are compared to other brands and the power is more than enough to get the job done. I am looking forward to trying more Milwaukee tools in the near future. Only one problem

I would have given 5 stars, but the first time I used the drill the chuck locked up on my bit. Thankfully I was able to return the drill to the retailer I purchased the set from and got a new drill. Since using the new one, no issues. I also have the M18 Fuel drill (2904-20) and the power of this M12 set is comparable to the M18s.

I bought these to outfit 7 buildings with basic tools for daily use replacing older yellow drill/drivers. With limited use so far, they are a big hit with the Engineers I work with! Plenty of power with the drill and driver for what we use them for, half the size and weight of out older sets, and great for getting in tight spaces.

Great small size tool with plenty of power.

I bought these to compliment the larger fuel drill and driver I have. Due to the weight and compact size I tend to always grab these sub compacts. The power they have never disappoints. Also in fine wooding projects the large fuel set tend to be over powered. This is another situation where the sub compact shine. Love this set.

Super handy set

I’ve had this kit for going on 4 years now and it’s perfect for what I need it for. Great little set for any hobbyist or backyard carpenter. Switching to the XC6.0 battery makes a big difference with these tools. I’ve left them in the rain, the dog chewed them up and dropped them from 16ft onto concrete and still going strong.

Picked up this kit for my small projects around the house instead of using my M18 Fuel products. Got the opportunity to use them when our TV went out over the weekend and relocating the wall mount bracketry. both the impact with torque settings and drill performed above my expectations as usual with Milwaukee products!
