Mighty, Light, & Compact!!
il y a un an
Just buy it! Got this to fill the void between my Milwaukee Installation Driver, and my M18 Hammer Drill Combo Kit.
The installation driver lacks the top end power. the M18 Hammer Drill lacks low end finesse.
Enter the M12 Gen 3 Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit. My new found go too! Quality, power, and control are all top notch, as expected from Milwaukee! The drill is compact and light. Pair this with the 5.0 High Output, and you will fall in love. The impact is just stellar! Running this with my 2.5 High Output allows for one powerful, lightweight, compact monster! Both drills feel so well balanced, and amazing in the hand!
Bottom line: HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend! Thanks to Milwaukee’s Team for helping me out here!
I received this kit as a free giveaway from a Milwaukee sponsored giveaway.
I am a diy/ weekend warrior so cannot speak to the drill or impact driver capabilities for trade workers.
I really like the impact driver and it is now my go to over my heavier duty 18V version (other brand). I like how it is lighter weight and more compact. It still has plenty of torque and power, but I can use it in tighter spaces without having to take out my right angle adapter. It is also nice that it has an adjustable setting for 4 levels of torque. It has allowed me to adjust for tasks that don't need, and shouldn't have, high torque.
I haven't used the drill enough yet to speak to it, but I imagine similar comments will apply once I do.
I love the m12 line of tools. I have the previous gen of this set and was very happy with them. I bought this generation for just a few simple reasons.
The new gen drill is smaller and feels even better.
The impact driver is also a bit smaller but it's the three led's that I really appreciate. The three front mounted lights give you really good lighting on your subject. The four drive modes are nice too.
I have the m18's too but the m12's are main go to due to size and weight. Most of the things i do can be handled with these m12 tools.
Definitely recommend.
I was on the fence about buying these for a few months. I used 12v tools and they always had a hard time driving 3” screws or small lags. I was trying to slowly switch everything to Milwaukee and was really worried these wouldn’t do everything i needed. I was worried for no reason at all. I got them home charged a battery and they drove everything i tried and drilled every large hole i could ever want. I was completely blown away. For the size and weight of these tools, the capability is unbelievable. Truly a good buy for anyone looking. You will be impressed.
The 1st purchase presented a concern...At first measure upon opening this Milwaukee product.
The finger toggle switch made of plastic was snapped off on one of the drills, thus making that drill inoperable.
It disturbed me that "Only a plastic pin" holds the trigger in place, whereas your competitors places a "metal pin or screw" to firmly secure the trigger...meaning your company failed toward quality...hence, my driving time plus in store time cost me (consumer) 3 hrs. of a busy day geared toward immediate replacement of your product that you rate best.

Bad QA, had to fix tools before use.
il y a un an
1 tool was missing a critically important fastener which resulted in the battery falling out when used.
2nd tool had the sound of something loose inside which I found was the selector switch tension click spring which made the tool too easy to change direction making it a pain to use until I fixed it.
Tools now function as intended but I'm no longer recommending Milwaukee to other handymen due to their sad QA.
I strongly recommend removing your profanity filter as well. You arent doing yourselves a favor by forcing civility on someone that was wronged.
Amazing Tools!! I really didn't believe that the last generation could be improved on but Milwaukee comes through again. The drill is faster and more powerful than the last generation and is also more powerful than some other brands in the 18v category. This is all the drill that the average homeowner and even some contractors will ever need. It's comfortable to hold and use. The battery life is outstanding and the battery life indicator is very nice. In my experience, the impact driver will outperform any other brand's 12v driver and a lot of the other brand's 18v drivers. I drove 25-6" head-lock screws into pressure treated pilings and the impact never faltered once. Unbelievable power for a compact tool. Highly Recommended!!!!
Impact is excellent, drill not so much. Impact works great, although a little wide in the grip. The drill is really falling short though. I’m coming from the dewalt 12v line of tools. The Milwaukee drill will give up and flash the battery bars after doing maybe 10% the dewalt drill will do. I’m not sure if that’s due to the red link chip or what but it seriously hinders the drills capability. That’s not even to mention the chuck which will seize on any type of hole saw or bit too large. The amount of times I have to return to my box to get the channel locks to open the chuck is ridiculous. To the point that the drill is going to be benched in favor of my 3+ year old dewalt drill. Save yourself the money and but the impact only kit.

Good tools, but room for improvement
il y a un mois
The tool are fairly good. The clips come in handy to free up a hand. The small bag makes it easy to transport and store your tools, but doesn't stack as well as a hard case. The charger would be better if it had status lights to let you know the power level of the battery. The 2.0 battery is only good for smaller quick jobs, and not really adequate for using in the Impact. The 4.0 battery is the better of the two that come in the set. It would be a good idea to keep an eye out for deals on the bigger M12 batteries to add to the set, like a 5.0.
I've used this set for small, precise jobs like window/cabinet hardware and for brute work like drilling 1" holes in 2x pressure treated with a paddle bit. I even used the impact to remove the lugnuts from my car. Let me tell you, as a carpenter/painter this is my go to tool set. I also use Milwaukee bits because they are the best (I've done the research). I did have a small problem with the stitching on the handle of the bag, but customer service reached out to me and offered to replace the bag. This is why I'm sticking with Milwaukee.. you pay for a great tool but you get the best customer support in the industry. If and when things go wrong Milwaukee has the best reputation for customer service and I can say from experience I agree.
Love the 12v tools. They're small so not too bulky to get into tight places and they have plenty of power to do what I need to. You have such a good variety of things other brands don't have and that is why I'm gonna start to buy them very slowly. The price is a little high. I would definitely own more Milwaukee stuff if I could afford it. I would like to upgrade my 20v porter cable tools to the 18v Milwaukee but definitely can't afford that right now. I use them at home and work so would be great to one day have 2 sets.
The little impact has enough speed and power to do most things I could want it for. No lag bolts but machine thread bolt that you might use a 1/4in drive ratchet on and I've also used it on 3in deck screws. It is surprisingly strong. The drill is also impressive. Trigger control is fantastic. I now use it more than my M18. I even managed to drill through a 2x8 with a 4in hole saw. It has no where near as fast as a full size drill but i was just impressed it could do it at all. Both of them eat up battery power pretty fast.
The M 12 Fuel is compact and powerful. I was blown away with the ergo dynamics and ease with which it drilled. We have a recent build of a garage on our farm, and I was putting together a frame for a hot tub pad , when the builder walked over and offered me the use of his M 18 FUEL impact drill. After using his M18 , I was hooked. He mentioned that the M12 is a great tool. I am very glad that I have listened to his advise. The 2 Ah battery fits snugly into the handle, with no bulkiness to hinder working in tight spaces .
The 3rd gen m12 drill overheats within a couple minutes of use, even with relatively light load. This is for quick small holes to be drilled, a few at a time. I used mine for detailing, so I tried detail brushes on carpets and seats and the drill would overheat over 20 times in one 4ah battery. It became unusable. I even tried 4 different units and all of them had this issue. One set had a battery gauge that was not fully connected, and 2 of the 4 sets I tried had drivers that had gears that made click sounds in one direction or both. Overall quality control has gone very downhill for Milwaukee as far as I can tell. I ended up selling the drill and keeping the driver and upgrading to a completely new tool platform since Milwaukee doesn’t make a decent product anymore.
Hi there! - Thank you for taking the time in leaving a review on your tool! We do not recommend using our M12 FUEL™ 1/2" Drill/Driver for detailing carpets or seats. Compact, yet packs a punch!
il y a un an
Compact yet tough. Don't be fooled by the size. The torque, endurance and sheer power of this combo will have you covered. I have arthritis in my hands and heavy tools won't cut it with me. I went with the M12 format as I knew that despite it's compact nature, it packs the punch I need. No disappointments from Milwaukee M12. This combo pack is one of your best bang for buck purchases with the 2 batteries, charger and contractor bag included. My 2 sons are now using M12 which has become a family tradition.
This is the first Milwaukee M12 tool I've purchased. All of my other battery powered tools are M18 Fuel. I own quik-lok yard tools, drill/drivers, lights, Sawzall's etc etc. Ibought this because of the price and I'm tired of raiding and using my heavy duty tools inside the house and for small projects like hanging curtains or putting together furniture. This set works great for everything! Plenty of power and I've now not used my M18 drill/driver quite some time! Should've pulled the trigger sooner.
Bought this for home projects and work, used it for drilling holes in tile for a shower, worked excellent. Took the set to work, using the hammer drill to drill 1” holes with a paddle bit trough 3 stacked 2x4s. The small 2cp battery did not last long , about 6 holes till it needed to be recharged. The larger battery however did not have a problem at all. It made me forget I was using a 12v kit. I was impressed by the speed, it took no time at all getting through all those 2x4s.
Just update my set about a month ago. I had a regular M12 drill/impact combo for over 8 years… my husband have M18 combo but it’s to heavy for me so I choose this M12 fuel and it’s Amazing, light to handle and so powerful, love the speed rpm dial and with the xc4.0 battery the tough job get done faster! We are diy homeowner and do a lots of renos… now I have to watch my husband so he doesn’t start the job with my! We have a few other Milwauukee tools and are very satisfied
This is an excellent tool, far better than any other on the market. The problem I have is that I buy m12 tools because I want less weight. The only way you can get this set is with the drill that has hammer drill and weighs more than the standard drill/driver. The hammer drill on these things is good for the home owner that only uses it occasionally. For professionals this feature adds weight that we don't need. Don't get me wrong, these certainly are professional tools.

Great Set!!
il y a 5 mois
I am throughly impressed with how these tools perform. I also purchased 2x of the 4.0ah batteries and all day running conduit and mounting hangers ive used the impact for both items still havent moved the battery gauge. The hammerdrill performed just as well mounting disconnects on a tilt wall building with tapcons it had no trouble whatsoever. Keep in mind this isnt a rotary hammer so anchors may be a little to much but for what this is. It exceeded my expectations.
I am really impressed by this kit. The drill is just as powerful as my old 120v plug in Skil drill and the hammer feature is very useful when drilling and sinking anchors into concrete. The M12 impact driver is awesome. It is light and small which makes it super convenient in tight spaces and it has more than enough power for any job I have thrown at it. It’s not going to take lug nuts off but I don’t expect it to. Awesome set and I do not regret the purchase at all.
Bought the non fuel kit a while ago and decided to spend a little extra for the fuel edition. So worth it. Feels like it will never break. Super power you can feel just by pulling the trigger. Light and very powerful and surpised how long the batteries have lasted. Havent ran one completely out yet. Might just switch to the m-12 stuff. Have all the m-18 but if you have anything milwaukee you know you have to have everything that Milwaukee makes. Awesome products.
I have been loyalist for another brand for over 20 years, simply because once you start with one, ypu want to stick with it because of the ability to exchange batteries. However I received a Milwaukee heated jacket as a gift. Realizing the jacket uses a m12 battery, I thought why not get an M12 tool so again, I would have extra batteries. Well I am extremely pleased with how compact and powerful the two drills are. My loyalty has now changed to Milwaukee.
By far the M12 FUEL™ 2-Tool Combo Kit.is the best compact driver on the market today. i have been using Milwaukee power tools for 18 years now, my new repurchase was caused by a theft of all my tools of my trade (retail assembler) by a high tech. theft ring breaking into cars. I was blessed by my generous family to help me rebuild my rolling work box in order to continue working . performance is not cheap, it will still take a while to get back to full set.
I’ve been using the m18 fuel drill/driver set for a couple years now, but as a service tech/millwright, they can be cumbersome to haul around for small jobs. When I picked up the m12 set, I was worried that they’d be lacking in power, but figured the driver would at least be compact enough to fit well in my go-to packout bag.
Now, I hardly ever reach for my m18 set, as the m12s are more than powerful enough for just about any job. Overall very impressed
I use the tools in maintenance work. This includes electrical, HVAC and mechanical work. I just recently purchase the tools and I am very happy with the performance, as with ALL my Milwaukee power and hand tools. However, I'm not happy with the bag the tools arrived in. The zipper was jammed and then broke! Too bad, because I prefer having my 12volt tools in one bag. I'm now going to have to find or purchase a new bag for my new 12volt Milwaukee Tools!

Worth it in every way
il y a un an
First off, what a tremendous deal. As for the tools themselves, a noticeable worthwhile upgrade over previous generations. I love the improved lighting so so much. I mean it just works. Next up is the size, we’ve trimmed down the footprint a good little amount. Battery life is OK, of course that varies depending on your settings, workload and battery type. All in all, I’m glad I upgraded. Love how small, light and FAST they are.
Haven't tested the power tool thoroughly. Only giving it one star because the Milwaukee bag zipper was defective and Milwaukee support failed their customer. I sent an email regarding my issue to Milwaukee support on October 1, 2023 and no one has gotten back to me regarding my issue. Yes, it has been over 2 weeks. Paying so much extra money for the product. Just pray that you don't need to contact customer support.
Our team is sorry to hear about your experience with the zipper on the bag. We want to assist you! Please be on the lookout in your email box for our team's response. - The Social Team

Great tools
il y a 2 mois
These are great tools. I received this set as a Christmas gift. I've always had M18 tools instead of M12's, so I was a little worried about their power output. Once I had used the tools, I realized they have plenty of power. For example, I used the drill with a 6" hole saw and it worked perfect. The batteries also charge pretty fast. From completely dead to fully charged was around 20 minutes for the bigger battery.
These have quickly become my go to tools for repairs around the office and shop. They have honestly surprised me with power that is in wrapped up in such a small package. My only complaint is where the foward/reverse switch is. It is conveniently mounted on the same palce as the m18 as well as most brands but the handle is a little short for the placement. I find myself hitting the switch while operating at times.
