Plenty of power
il y a 9 mois
Our Milwaukee mower has plenty of power. We live in south Florida and in the summer the grass grows thick and fast. Do to a series of unforeseen events our lawn had not been cut for almost a month when we received the mower. After charging I took it out for the first use and it did great. As I said the lawn was very thick and tall. I set the mower on 2, Probably should have set it at 3 but, it cut evenly with now problems. I used the bag to collect the cuttings for the garden. The mower had plenty of lift and completely filled the bag to the top with no voids.
At age 65 with a knee surgery behind me and another on the horizon, I do appreciate the self propelled function. My wife even want to learn how to use it now.
I'm very happy with the mower.
We are Milwaukee tool lovers but this is a giant expensive let down. The blade does not cut well at all. Going forward the mower leaves so many uncut blades of grass that it almost looks like you didn’t cut at all. Going backwards actually cuts better than forwards. So either I have to cut the entire lawn pulling the mower backwards or push forward over a small path and then pull backwards to cut the same area. Needless to say it takes way too long to mow now. Very disappointed in the cut quality. Would not recommend.
I normally cut my grass at 2 1/4" twice a week with my Timemaster it rarely gets over 4" unless of rain or being out of town etc. The Milwaukee mower does a great job as a replacement and you can't tell any cut quality differences. It takes me about 45 minutes with the TM plus one Gas refill stop. The Milwaukee Mower eliminates my Gas stop and I can still get the entire yard done in less than an hour. It doesn't stripe as well as the TM but that's not a big deal. I love the new Milwaukee mower and happy I made the leap.
So far I have been very pleased with the mower. It can handle my 30+* hill without an issue. The cut has been phenomenal. If I had any "complaints", it would be that I can't seem to get as close to trees and such as I used to, even thought the deck is right up next to them. Also, I wish that the mower striped the lawn more, but that's just personal preference. I do think the drive handle could be redesigned slightly. I would think a personal pace mechanism versus the current paddle and dial would be more comfortable.
I spent 6 weeks reviewing and rereviewing all of the mowers on the market (gas, battery, corded) and finally decided on this unit even though it cost more! Well, I can’t believe how well it works! I have four acres of heavy, heavy grass and weeds, from six inches to 3 feet in height, and, really unbelievably, it is performing far better than I had hoped it would. The batteries charge in about 1.5 hours and I get at least an hour of cutting before the batteries runout. And there is NO maintenance except keeping it cleaned (I use my shop vac to keep all of the battery connect points clean). And the noise is quite tolerable compared with a gasoline powered mower. So glad we got it! I have just finished 22 hours of use and I am getting ready to take off blade and sharpen it!
Better than expected. I have a pretty tough hill to mow on a regular basis. I was skeptical that the battery powered mower could handle it. This mower not only handled it, but made the job easier for the fact that it’s lighter and has as much power as my gas mower. Out of the box, the battery life and charging times are as advertised. It comes with the mulch attachment as well as a side, shoot attachment, and a bag. I’ve used all three on both wet and dry grass and have had absolutely no issues with performance.
I have noticed with the pack outs that Milwaukee has different qualities/types of plastic. Some sun fade super easy while others seem to be impervious. This very expensive mower has the cheap plastic and sun fades easily. The top of my mower is more orange than red. Not what I would expect on something so expensive from Milwaukee. Other than that, the mower does a decent job, but you really need to sharpen the blade before first use. Otherwise it will leave the tops of your grass dead due to a rip vs smooth cut.

Some minor flaws, bag has a rip after first use.
il y a 2 ans
I got mine in the spring, and it has a few flaws. I bought the high lift blade at the same time, and have not used the stock blade. It doesn't have enough suction to lift the grass up to cut it when at the higher blade heights settings. It works well at the lower settings. And yesterday I used the bag for the first time to collect leaves. It's not as good as my old (25+ years) gas Murray, and the bag has a rip in one of the seams already. The Murray bag had no rips after picking up leaves all those years.

I would not recommend
il y a 2 ans
I was super excited to try this mower on my large grass yard. Southern California so the grass is not overly dense. Yard is gently rolling, sloping, even terrain. Mower motor instantly shuts down at heavy load sections. Presumably to protect overload of batteries. The self propelled rear axle is single wheel drive so in any wet section of grass you are going to be manually pushing it along. Had some weird intermittent blade motor starts when trying to pivot on the end of a cut pass. Overall in my opinion not a good value or investment for the money or the time in labor for a job that needs to be done. I will be sending this product back for a full refund. I will continue to buy Milwaukee cordless tools as for the most part they have served me well, but the mower has got to go!

Great mower; grass bag design could be improved
il y a 2 ans
The auto increase in power is useful feature that uses less power in thin grass and more power in thick grass., and the manual power setting is also useful when most of the grass is thick. That said, the grass bag needs a better design. 1) Mine ripped on the first use, and I can't find a replacement. 2) There are times when I must back up, and the bag tends to buckle under the mower making it difficult to turn. I think this problem could be eliminated by suspending the back of the bag from the wire frame.

I don't think its worth The PRICE!!!!
il y a un an
I bought this last year. it started fine then I couldn't walk 5 feet without it stopping. this happened all day.
The next day I tried again, batteries were fully charged. Nothing changed. So I took it back and got a new one. One year later It is starting to happen all over again. I can't walk 5 feet without it stopping and having to restart. There is obviously something wrong with these mowers. I wonder if there is any warranty that will take it back or fix it. I am a contractor and only use milwaukee tools.

Poor cut quality and lift
il y a 2 ans
This is a well built mower with great features, but the quality of cut is simply unacceptable. I have an old Ariens mower and a budget EGO to compare to, and while Milwaukee is built far better than both and has a ton more power, the cut quality is nowhere near the 5.5hp Ariens and about on par with the cheapest EGO on market, while costing over 2X more. it seems like the blade was designed for maximizing run time and creates very little lift. This produces grass build up on the deck and poor cut quality, with stragglers while bagging. Mulching also leaves clumps of grass and is no match to any dual blade system on the market (high end EGO, or Honda HRX). Really wanted to like this, as I love all of my other Milwaukee tools, but at this price point, it's simply not good enough.
I previously owned a gas self propelled mower and really enjoyed it. I’m getting older and my property is hilly so self propelled is essential. The M18 Fuel Self Propelled was a big step and I love it. I mowed my entire lawn and used two bars of 4. It is easier to manoeuvre, great traction on steep terrain and although heavy but not near as heavy as my gas mower. The lights are great for last minute before dark mow. I really like this mower and the fact you can fold it away taking up less than half the space. It’s maintenance free. No more oil changes, spark plugs, carb cleaning or seasonal storage maintenance. My only issue is cleaning the inside can be a bother versus simply having to hose off my gas mower. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and fully recommend this product.
Built very well , long lasting batteries, very powerful does not power down no matter how thick the grass very smooth wheel adjustment mechanism and nice handle adjustment , also flip handle all the way over quick lock the handle and stand up and roll against wall or hang on the wall awesome idea! Only wish for this ,was a built in m12 wiper sniper on right front corner with switch on handle so I don’t have to get out my wiper sniper to cut the edge along my fence. Maybe next edition otherwise excellent!
I was apprehensive, but much better mower than I was expecting. Twice the battery life I was expecting, had to intentionally let it die to see how long it would take. Solid construction, love the height adjustment, everything is just super easy. Doesn't have the vacuum my Honda did, but I have actually gotten to appreciate that, doesn't pick up stones or twigs. Appreciate the self propelled, works well! Looking forward to the fall leaves. Same quality that I have gotten to expect from my other tools!
Good power, good cut, bag does not meet up very well allowing for some clippings to go around the bag.
The plug for mulching works, but needs to be changed to lock in somehow to not allow clippings to bypass the plug.
The self-propelled function works and is powerful enough to carry itself with a full bag up an incline. However when you first engage it straight to full speed from stopped it seems to go faster than the set speed for a second then recovers to the correct speed. it almost rips its self from your hands or raises the front wheels causing you to have to stop and recut. it is not like the JD push mower I prefer to use.
the Front wheels and mower front seem to be further forward leaving a good amount of uncut lawn when going to a corner that I was able to cut with the JD.
I have a rough yard with a steep bank, tree roots and tree debris. The deck is heavy and the wheels are large enough that it has out performed other gas push mowers I’ve had in the past. Handles thick wet grass no problem. Took it over to a friends property that usually gets bush hogged field grass was about 10” high mowed an area down like it was the front yard. Batteries out lasted me. Any more and I would have waited till the next day anyway. Going to see how it mulches up the leaves this fall.
I just purchased the Milwaukee and use it to mow my residential yard. House is in a 10,500 lot and use one bar on the entire lawn. I do use high lift button on half. I would like the mulching plug to fit a little tighter as the gaps push grass out the rear of the mower. I like the fact it is in the Milwaukee M18 eco system to match my other Milwaukee tools. The mower is well built and plenty of power. Returned another brand and cannot be happier. Improving the mulching plug would be appreciated.
I am already a big fan of Milwaukee tools and this lawn mower is amazing. The price was higher than all the other lawn mowers but because I can use the batteries in my other tools and the power it provides I went for it. I have no regrets. It cuts great and the battery last much longer than I expected. I live in a neighborhood and can mow the front, back and side yards with more than half of the battery left. Great product with nothing negative to say about it. It also stores great in my garage.
there are multiple spots that grass gets caught up and needs to be cleaned out to store. grass coming from the blade to the bag gets caught up on a rolled piece of metal that should have came out the other direction and flowed into the bag. Next is grass getting blown and stuck up in the self propel area, it is another spot that is always needing to be blown out and cleaned out with a long screw driver. To me it seems that it was rushed out instead of taking a little more time to make it better.

Tough little mower
il y a 2 ans
Broke mower in on first mow of Spring of 2+ acres. Powered right through tall grass. Will stall if it can’t keep up with clippings. Skill with variable speed propulsion handles this. Propulsion stalls if pulled backward, but can quickly be reset by releasing speed control. Continuous operation using two pair of batteries is not possible because of recharge time, contrary to Milwaukee rep’s suggestion. Using batteries before fully charged or while bagging clippings this may be possible.
I am very impressed about this lawn mower. I already had a set of two 12Amp batteries, now I have four.
This mower works just as you expect, or even better! I mowed my front and back yard 5 times, then I had to recharge the batteries. The self-propelled speed.... don't put it on 5, you won't keep up! Lol.
We sold our gas mower that never let me down, but this red one is the Ferarri under the lawn mower.
I am 100% satisfied. Even it has a price tag, but well worth every penny!
I was back and forth about picking up this mower, but after using it a couple of times, I have 0 regrets. There is next to no vibration - after all day mowing, I can still feel my hands! The drive mechanism is great - you can feather the throttle as needed. I really like the auto blade speed which ramps up in denser grass. Very well built with the metal deck. And it's much quieter. Oh and did I mention the power - I was cutting 8 inch grass with the bag on without issue.
This is the way. No gas/oil/fumes or pull start madness. Light weight. Great battery life. I’ll never go back to gas. Just mowed in the dark last night…nice idea, but it really should have a down light on the handle for pulling the mower backwards. Can’t see where you’re going at the rear. Wish the rear wheels would have a differential or separate motors to sense load and programmatically adjust while turning sharply. Just an idea for improvement, but it seriously rocks.
This is a fantastic electric mower. I own quite a few Milwaukee power tools, and I love them. But I felt I was moving away from their main product line with a lawn mower. This mower has enough power to do my front and back yards - my last mower couldn’t on one charge. Also, the self-propelled capability can be separately engaged when it’s needed. And ONE lever controls the mowing height. I haven’t needed it yet, but it also has bright LED headlights. I love this machine.
I bought this mower a month ago and I can’t seem to get it to cut without leaving a strip of uncut grass. Battery power is great and the self propelled system is good. Tried the uplift blade and it didn’t make a difference. Not a big fan of having to go over my cuts. I switched from a Honda twin blade and unless I can figure this out will be going back to the gas unfortunately. I’m a contractor and everything I own is Milwaukee but I’m quite disappointed in this mower.

It is the electric future that I can afford
il y a 10 mois
The M18 fuel 21" self propelled mower cuts a lawn as well as any gas mower but, the sound is quiet, there is no oil/gas smell and starting is push-button easy. The best feature is the self propelled part since I can dial in the top speed and also have variable control all the time. Speed control works best when the runs get shorter since I don't want to go as fast before a turn. Now, the mowers' most vulnerable part is the wheel height adjustment lever. It can (did) come out of the upper "notch" and let the mower drop down to the bottom (1.5 inches) - scalping the lawn as I mowed around bushes. The bushes caught the handle, and the small "notches" are not slots, then the spring pulls the mower wheels down. I now listen for the "clunk" that means the mower dropped again by the bushes and raise it before I move.
Just purchased this electric lawnmower, my grass on three adjacent connected lots was 18 in. tall with the base moist, Milwaukee’s lawnmower cut through a lot of it before having the initial battery charge drained. Batteries were warm to touch and had to cool for an hour before charging second time. I’m ok with the performance and looking forward to have the cordless feature on demand, not getting gas and having the ethanol breakdown in a few weeks. Good job Milwaukee.
I have read a Lot Of Reviews about this mower!!
I am So Very Happy I ignored the negative reviews and decided to purchase one!!
I must tell you this mower is absolutely amazing, if you go through some thick grass it automatically speeds up the cutting power and then drops down after you are out of it!
The construction is second to none definitely commercial grade!
The battery life is also awesome this is without a doubt one of the best purchases I have ever made!!
This is my dream mower. I finally purchased a M18 mower Kit. I used the mower three times. I purchased the extra high lift blade and mower the entire yard in high lift mode. The mower has plenty of power. However, I am very disappointed with the cut quality. There are stragglers and mowhawks even after I have to go back over the area. For one of the most expensive cordless battery mowers on the market, I would expect superior cut quality as claimed by Milwaukee.
