A nailer every bit as good as a pneumatic
il y a 4 ans
I mainly use this for installing casing, trim, and baseboard. I have no complaints! This is very well made. Everything about it is easy to use: loading clips, switching out the battery, adjusting the nail depth, switching fire modes, etc. Now to the biggest concern most people have about a battery-powered nailer: is it powerful enough to actually embed the nails into the work? My easy answer is YES! Do some nails stick out? Also yes, but that's no different from a pneumatic nailer. This one leaves nails out about as often as a pneumatic. All things considered, this is well worth the money. No need to drag out a compressor that will likely need an extension cord. No need to fumble with an air hose that's a huge pain with its coils, air leaks, and simply tethers your tool. Love this nailer!
I bought this gun solely on the fact that it is cordless knowing full well that it is much bigger and bulkier then my pneumatic one. So far the size hasn’t been a issue. Nail placement is very accurate. My only issue so far is that it will miss fire if you try and add short strips of nails in the magazine. I found that if you install the strip nails in a higher groove in the magazine that they don’t really miss fire at all. 2.0 amp battery lasts for most of the day if not constantly being used.
Consistent brand depth every time. I have never used a brand nailer that adjust so simply and actually delivers what it promises. The only part of the tool that touches the work is the rubber tip so no more dents, lines, or other Mark's from not paying attention. I have used it on 4 diferent projects and the battery lasts forever, both air compressor or noise that goes along with it and no more dragging a hose around. Quite simply I love it. I do hope they come out with a more compact one too.
This is by far the best brad nailer I have used yet. There is an unlimited supply of power for the tasks that require it. Along with versatility and easy maintenance. There is no need for an air compressor a power supply and an air line anymore. The thing I found most appealing is Milwaukee’s way of making a nail jam so easy to fix giving the gun virtually 0 down time. I would 100% recommend this tool to any DIY home owner/ professional it’s a must have. Milwaukee has outdone itself again.
The M18 Brad nailer was such a breathe of relief after fighting with my Hitachi cordless Brad nailer to make a whole house trim install look nice. The depth adjustment is very slick, the runtime is very long, the tool itself is much lighter, AND it sinks the nails everything. I liked it so much I bought another one, then bought the stapler, then bought the 15 gauge! I am looking forward to grabbing the framing nailer at some point when the need arises. The M18 Fuel nailer are good to go.
I picked this Nailer up about 2 weeks ago and have used it for multiple trim installs and it works great! I stayed away from the Gen 1 version because of all the problems people were having with them and bought the DeWALT cordless 18 gauge instead a couple of years ago and it is a nice tool but this one takes it for power and consistently driving the nails to the proper depth. If your in the market for a cordless 18 gauge nailer I would strongly suggest having a look at this option!
I use nailers for a living and have used several other brands of 18 ga nailers and most recently the previous Milwaukee 18 ga cordless . to which I will compare this new one . this nailer is firstly much lighter and better balanced .second seeing where the nail will go is much improved . there is much less recoil which leads to less denting from the contact tip on soft woods.setting the nail set depth is easy and reliable even in different density woods. have not yet had a nail jam but clearing one looks like it should be easy
gets a lot of mileage from the battery using a 3 amp hr . comparing to other brands I have used no delay of firing no fan noise no fuel no oil residue no problems in the cold . been using this nailer about a month so can't comment on longevity but so far I am very pleased
Brad Nailer M18 FUEL model 2746-20.
I bought other brands but the Milwaukee overwhelmed all of them.
I highly appreciate the security feature that will avoid to accidentally shoot a nail.
It is easy as well to switch from one shoot to fast nailing.
The most interesting feature is the speed. No need to way 1 second before having the nail.
On the other hand it lacks a feature: A led to see where the nailer head is heading.
It is not always the case to have all the lights to work.
Othe brans have that handy feature.
The Milwaukee Pin nailer has it and it is very handy.
I bought as well the Pin nailer M12.
I loved it.
The only negatif point will be the lacks of the security feature that we can have on the Brad nailer.
Nevertheless, I will highly recommand both tools even for DIY guys like me,

Extremely happy!

I bought the 18 gauge brad nailer to re-do my stairs. Was a bit worried about power knowing it wasn’t run with a compressor but those feelings went away fast after the first nail was shot. Love the ability to set the depth of the nail penetrates or basically the amount of power behind it. Basically no show of where the nail hit. Well worth the money in my opinion and it makes me more confident being able to do more home projects like that knowing I have the tool for it
I bought this nailer to replace my Hitachi cordless brad nailer. Was tired of having two sets of batteries and chargers and not having a battery guage on the Hitachi battery. This nailer seems to be lighter, and is definitely thinner. I was unable to use the Hitachi for toe kick installation, but this one fits under the cabinets which is a big deal. Typical usage was for window installs and small jobs where it wasn't worth the set up time for air, but now that I've used this one, with the speed, power, and mobility it offers, I haven't brought out my pneumatic. Did an entire house of casing and baseboard, swapped the batteries when convenient. Never had one die on me. 100% recommend this product. I've heard some negative things about the gen 1 but never owned one myself, nothing but good things to say about this Gen 2.
works great for installing trim in the house. love not cussing at the air hose and figuring out how to set gun down within reach when doing doorway trim. now it has a nice way to hang the gun right on your side and level the trim with your gun easily within reach, and did i mention no air hose! Use this all the time for misc craft projects in garage, very nice when needing just a few nails, because now I don't have to wait on the loud air compressor to air up.
I love this tool. I am a cabinet maker. I work on high end homes and luxury condos. This tool allows me to do finish work without setting up hoses and a compressor. In addition plug ins are always in demand at job sites so this gives me more options.
The tool itself works great. It’s reasonably quiet. It delivers nice clean holes in trim work. 110% must buy for any cabinet or trim carpenter. My boss has the Senco version of this gun. But I like mine more.
This gun is fantastic! My boss has a Paslode that he swears by but I’m a Milwaukee fan so I bought this. First day the bosses Paslode dies and we put it on charge and pull this thing out. Even after the Paslode charged he went the whole week just using the Milwaukee. The gun has very small nail holes and is consistent. There’s only a couple downsides, is it is a bit heavy compared to a Paslode but you get used to it quickly and it doesn’t sink angled shots well, I would say anything past 22.5 degrees is debatable whether or not it will sink. For me that’s no problem to work around. I’m a kitchen installer and renovator so I do lots of trim work and making custom pieces like islands and wine racks for kitchens. I would highly recommend this Milwaukee 18g brad nailer and I can’t wait until the 23g pin nailed gets released in 2021
I recently purchased the Milwaukee M18 Brad Nailer, and I am extremely happy. The cordless / compressorless aspect of the tool made my life so much easier. I might as well be walking around with a drill, because this is an easy to handle no hassle tool. It performs perfectly, and uses battery extremely efficiently. The weight is also comfortable enough to nicely secure the tool onto your belt while walking around. The led light is also a fantastic touch.
The tool is absolutely amazing! No ramp up, all nails are driven to the desired dept every single time, more than anything, no hose, no waiting for a compressor to build enough pressure... it's just amazing! However the rubber tips are a different story, I used the nailer to build a pallet wood cooler, and towards the end of my project, one of the rubber tips attached to the guite/set pin right behind the striker broke off. Where can I get a replacement?
I bought this and was a little skeptical about it. I am remodeling my house and was getting tired have bringing my air compressor and hose up from the shop and into the house. The noise from the compressor bothering my girlfriend. This makes almost no noise, adjustments are easy, and I was able to do all my trim work in my dining room on only 25% of a battery charge. The maneuverablility with no hose on it helps too. Plain and simple I love this tool!
I had the first gen and I had problems with nails not setting right, depth wasn’t consistent and it was too bulky especially for trying to nail in a tight corner. This new nailer fixed all of that. Consistent nailing, super fast, depth gauge is quick and easy to use and accurate. Precision tip and less bulk makes nailing anywhere a breeze. Love this tool! So nice to take out for small projects and remodels when you don’t need to drag out a compressor.
I installed a Cedar Walls in a Walk-in-Closet and a installed a Closet Organizer for a client. I purchased this Brad Nailer and put it to the test. The Battery lasted 2 days with Nailer never losing it's nailing strength the whole time.
The thought alone of not having to use a air compressor saved me time, with less things to trip over. My client was happy that she didn't have to listen a compressor coming on all the time. This Nailer did the trick!
Right out the gate, my first application was installing end panels on the eves of a garage. I'm up on a ladder and leaning to reach nailing spots. Would have been a real hassle with a pneumatic setup. This tool punches out the nails, just like a pneumatic, no windup, no trigger lag, just pop! This really moves the line for what a cordless nailer can do, how it can feel and balance and handle. Now Milwaukee, I want to see an M12 system 23ga pin nailer.
My first impression of this gun was that it was amazing. Shoots rapidly fires every time and no problems at all. Then I tried 1 1/2” brads and it simply won’t shoot them. Jams every second or third nail. I then returned it and got a new replacement and same thing. It will shoot any size smaller then 1 1/2” an will also shoot 2” fine. But not the 1 1/2” for some reason. Tried every brand of 18 gauge nail I could find. Other then that issue it is great

Seems consistent, Though it has jammed twice.
il y a 5 ans
I installed 100ft of baseboards and cased 2 doors. It jammed twice.
Nail depth doesn't seem to be consistent. I'm into 5/8 MDF. Had to use my nail punch on a few nails.
I like the weight of this Milwaukee compared to my Ridgid cordless.
Size wise its better in tight corners and closer to the floor.
It gets for out 4 ouf 5 stars. NO hard case for the gun. I like to keep my tools protected and stacked neatly. You can't do that with a soft case.
I had been using a compressor with my brad nailer for years but having this M18 Brad nailer is a game changer. It initially was taken a back as to how powerful this nailer is as it blew through some finishing work I was doing but after dialing it in, amazing. No more filling up the compressor and hauling the hose around. What a time saver and the quality of their nailer, you can feel from the moment you pick it up. So worth buying. I’m glad I did.
The nailer is great at consistently sinking 2" nails into whatever material your shooting through. Not too heavy with the 3.0 HO CP batteries. My one gripe is it seems more likely to jam than a pneumatic brad, when you hit a knot or nail in the material you are shooting into. Example: shooting baseboard on to a wall and you hit a framing nail going through the bottom plate of the wall into a stud. All around great nailer and you should buy it!
This nailer is sweet. I use it for baseboards, crowns, casings, oak rails and many more. I never have and issues with mine as some other have. I have use this nailer with the 3.0 battery and shot a whole 2300 square foot house with base and shoe and still have 2 bars. If you just want a nailer you can grab without pulling out a compressor and roll out hoses. This is it! It have saved me time and money. Great product waiting for the gen 2 16g.
I have remodeled the entire house base molding and door trims as well and I can’t be more happy with this tool. The comfort of not carrying the annoying air hoses and compressor is priceless for me. But the main thing here is the tool performance, it feels like you can almost put brad nails on concrete because the tool is always ready and so quick for the next nail shooting that feels like wood is not enough for the tool. Really impressive!!
Okay, I haven't used them all to be able to make that claim but I don't see how they can get better. This nails as fast as you could ever want with zero ramp up. You have 20 something adjustments on the depth of nails for fine tuning. There are zero flaws so far.
I honestly don't know how you would improve on this one in the future. All they could do is keep making them lighter....and lighter. As far as performance goes this one is it.
I am a general contractor so i use this gun alot for trim and some of the other guys have the dewalt gun and it is complete trash 1/8 nails will actually sink all the way in. But this gun is amazing it never misfires and I never have to pound nails in, i also love how lightweight and compact it is for how powerful it is. I also love how small the nail holes are after the nail is fired, such a small hole hardly any filler if any is needed
I am a part time builder and typically don't use a nail gun. I own a 16, 18, and 23 gauge finish nailer all air powered. I have a few installs coming up and I didn't want to pack a compressor. I bought this thinking I wouldn't use it much. I use it all the time. It is super handy. The nails are set perfect without leaving a mark. I can easily adjust the depth for different materials. This is way better then any other gun I have used.
I’m remodeling my new home and this was well worth the money spent. I’m just a casual diy guy and this was worth every penny spent. I’ve watched all the YouTube videos and the M18 nailer always came out on top. I love the variable depth adjustment for sinking the nails right below the surface. It’s lightweight and the BIGGEST thing of all is I don’t have a compressor or airlines following me around. It’s the real deal
As a certified RV service technician I rely on only the best tools to get the job done, that’s why I recommend Milwaukee brand tools! this nailer is great it sinks the nail at the same depth every Time at almost any angle, it gets in the corners where other nailers cannot leaving no trace of the driver, there is no ramp up time When you’re feeling trigger-happy! All-around great gun, Milwaukee tools get the job done!
