Better than pneumatic 100%

il y a 4 ans
Bought this because I tried using my bosses gen 1 model and loved it, but the gen 2 is an absolute beast of a machine. The amount of work you can get done with just 1 2 amp battery is uncontested. It performs as fast if not faster than a pneumatic brad nailer. And has a lot of features that are extremely helpful. The three tips for the nose of the gun are also awesome. Life changing tool for me. Never having to worry about dragging around my compressor and hoses. plus I have a sleuth of batteries for it. And I love the rubber details on the different profiles of the gun making sure I can sit it down on various objects without scratching or damaging any floors or countertops.

Works as advertised

il y a 5 ans
Have been using the 15g nailer for a couple years until it was stolen last fall. Had my eye on the 18g but first gen had so so reviews, stoked when the 2nd gen came out. I have put in solid wood trim and mdf and this puts the nails where you want them with a consistent depth without an air hose or compressor noise. No setup time aside from setting a test nail to make sure the finish depth is where I want it. This machine doesn't like partial strips (2 or three nails) but most 18g nails don't and if there is a jam it is easy to clear with a robust mechanism. This nailer plus the m18 compound miter trim saw and the m18 vacuum has made me a lot of money in baseboard, casing and crown.

Great nailer!

il y a 4 ans
As a remodeler I do a vast majority of casing/base/crown/ship lap/trim you name it, and this nailer beats any pneumatic I’ve ever had. It sets the nail into any material with virtually no effort. I’ve only needed my nail set only a couple of times out of the many jobs I’ve used it on so far. My only complaint is the longer lengths of nails are a bit tricky to load in sometimes, especially while in a pinch. This nailer is surgically accurate and will take a small bit of getting used to. But once you’ve learned the tool, you’ll realize how much time you’ve saved by not worrying about tangled cords or dragging out the compressor every time. 3.0 HO CP battery should last you most of the day.

Ditch your compressor.

il y a 4 ans
I’ve been looking to buy this since my Metabo, pneumatic nailer started shooting nails sideways out of the magazine. This tool does cost more than a decent pneumatic, but it’s well worth it in my opinion. I have an air compressor that stops intermittently, so this was far cheaper than replacing both. I have the M18 framing nailer as well, and am just waiting on the pin nailer so I won’t have to drag a compressor and hoses through customer’s houses anymore. I’ve found no issue at all with the nailer, it shoots nails very easily. Highly recommended to anyone in the market for a trim nailer.

I'm very pleased with my purchase.

il y a 4 ans
I'm in the process of trimming out a house as part of a complete renovation. I never owned any Milwaukee power tools before I purchased this along with a bunch of other Milwaukee fuel tools. So far I'm very happy. Even though it's a little bit bulkier and a little bit heavier than I'm used to compared to a pneumatic nailer, the freedom and portability you gain when detached from the hose and compressor is lovely. There's absolutely no delay in firing and this thing will shoot faster than I can work. The nail holes are very small compared to my pneumatic nailer and the depth of drive is consistent. I look forward to continued use, and I'm hoping to soon get my hands on the 30 degree framing nailer.

Works all around

il y a 3 ans
Use this professionally for work. It's almost perfect. Actually prefer to plug in if it's going to be a continuous day of finish work in one place. Excellent tool for jumping around multi unit buildings/homes. Consistently sinks nails, although you have to keep forward pressure on the tool which I don't like. I also feel that it has too much spring tension on the nose piece. When you nail at an angle into soft wood you can marr it. It feels bulky and heavy at first but you get used to it. Have never had a jam. Excellent tool for its intended use. It will work all day on a 2 amp battery. Will set the nail in any thickness of hardwood. This will pay for itself in saved time and productivity in no time.

Almost perfect

il y a 3 ans
I'm a DIY'er that just got too tired of moving a small compressor everywhere and dealing with the hose. Since I already have plenty of Milwaukee M18 batteries I figured I'd try it out. The tool functions superbly, couldn't be happier with the work it does. Has all the expected setting options of any nail gun. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars(would have given 4-1/2 if I could) is the weight. Even without a battery it's hefty. But still worth not fighting with a hose that's wrapped the wrong way. If they could find a way to pull a half pound out of it, it would be perfect.

Easily justifiable purchase

il y a 3 ans
I’ve owned a compressor, hose, and air-operated brad nailer for a long time. Recently I wanted to install some baseboard and base shoe in our home after a flooring job. Unfortunately I had left my hose and brad nailer at our son’s home about 3 hours away. This gave me an “excuse” to buy another Milwaukee tool. I have to say this electro-pneumatic device is simply genius. I may never ask for the air-driven brad nailer back from my son. The M18 Fuel brad nailer is easy to load, easy to use, and a pleasure to my ears to not have a compressor running. Very pleased with the purchase.

Another quality Milwaukee tool

il y a 4 ans
I was skeptical at first after reading mixed reviews but I am so happy I bought it. Super powerful for a cordless device. Once I set the depth adjustment not once did I have to set a nail. It consistently sunk hundred of nails and still had plenty of battery left. The nail holes were all clean too, the only thing I noticed is it you press down on the gun too hard that’s when the nail hole gets a bit ragged looking. I love the fact I no longer have to bring my compressor along to do trim and molding work. The 3 tips it came with work well for all those awkward spots. My only complaint is I wish I was able to buy just the replacement tips. Every where I find them they’re either sold out or no longer carried.

carpender

il y a 5 ans
I use this brad nailer in my wood shop and on the jobsite. I will never own a compressor again. This brad nailer is hard hitting with low recoil, consistant in all materials when it comes to depth of nail and ability to sink. The only issue I have not related to the tool, is my 2.0 battery crapped out and I cant fire more than 200 nails before it dies. That's been a struggle because I don't own any other batteries at the moment and the nailer ran my 450 CAD after tax. I am super pleased and ive been recommending this to everyone. I might even have a dewalt guy making the switch.

Recommend, zero complaints!

il y a 4 ans
I wish I bought this years ago! We are currently replacing are carpet with laminate flooring and replacing all the trim. I injured my right which limits it’s use. I bought the brad nailer for easy of use without having to lug a gun, air hose, and compressor around. This nail gun was a savior not only for my arm but time on the whole project. I read the reviews before I purchased so I was slightly skeptical. I had one issue with it... the first nail is shot sag a little high. I adjusted the depth with the knob and drove the next one which was perfect! I never had a jam, no miss fires, no issues at all! Overall, I would buy it again or buy their other nail and staple guns! It is worth every penny! No complaints!

Hopefully gen 3 gets it right

il y a 5 ans
I have used this product for a few weeks now. It’s an ok nailer, after seeing all the updates from the gen 1 I was hoping many issues were fixed but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Most nails shoot really well and drive clean however when firing 1 1/2” nails the gun jams a lot. Moving the nails to the back of the clip seems to fix it which is strange compared to other nailers I own. When it shoots it’s great but the constant clearing of jams and poor feed of nails slows things down and has me using my pneumatic yet again. Hopefully Milwaukee tools can fix the issue

Works

il y a 4 ans
The gun is holding up so far. I have trimmed 9 units of an apartment building. The gun jams occasionally and shoots blanks about the same amount as other pneumatic guns I have used. One frustration is when using two nail clips at a time they will bunch up in the magazine. It was sporadic at first now it’s literally every time I put two nail clips in. I can only load one at a time now which means I have to load the gun twice as much. It’s pretty annoying. Seems like the magazine should have a tighter tolerance so the nails can’t go double wide and jam.

Great Nailer 2nd Gen - One Hint Below

il y a 4 ans
Like all that you have read: Light, Powerful, Easy. I adjusted the depth and it was easy and consistent. HINT: on the right side of the nailer are the other two "red rubber scratch avoiders". Please see the picture. I honestly expected to find them in a plastic bag included with the nailer. I was very, very pleasantly surprised to find them conveniently stored on the nailer, but have never seen this documented in any thing I've read and the pictures of the nailer that I have seen are always of the left side of the nailer. I would buy again.

I bought this 18 ga. Brad nailer and let me tell you something. This is the best nailer I have. I bought it with the intention of remodeling kitchen and bath cabinets. I’ll tell you what. This little gem has paid its self on the first job. It works great through all types of wood. From your hard woods to pine. Nothing is stopping this bad boy. Great job Milwaukee. I switched from Dewalt. To All Milwaukee. Just a much better and professional product. Thank you for listening to the pro’s and improving your product. I love the hook that is on this nailer.

My wife makes decorative signs and we use this to nail the frames together. I have a lot of 18V Milwaukee tools and wanted to get the brad nailer for these projects. However I read many poor reviews about the 1st generation tool. When this 2nd gen came out and the reviews were much better, I decided to go ahead and buy one. I'm not sorry. It works great and has none of the issues that I read about with the 1st gen tool. I highly recommend this to anyone thinking about getting one. It stands up to the high standards that Milwaukee tools are known for.

18 gauge nail gun-excellent

il y a 4 ans
I use it for in house project. I’m an enthusiast. It works great. You don’t have to carry your compressor, gun and air hose. Very easy, click on a battery, turn it on and off you go. It was easy to understand how to use it. I looked at the manual and on the gun itself. Maybe 5-10 minutes and I started using it. The only issue is you have to adjust the depth of the nails. With the dial it’s very easy but depending on the length of nails some won’t go all the way in but once you’ve adjusted the dial it works perfect. I only used it a couple of time.

Great tool!

As a general carpenter, I often thought of how a cordless nailer would be really useful to speed up my everyday work. I have bought this nailer about a month ago and have been pleasantly surprised of how handy it is! From installing crown and trim to pining wood work and cabinetry this nailer is handy! The nailer is well balanced and even though it looks fairly bulky it is surprisingly light! Not having to drag a hose(leaky after some use) after me, and set up a compressor (always noisy) and worry about finding a plug - it's definitely great! The depth mechanism and led light location don't allow you to come as close to your work piece as you would want but - overall is not a great issue. So far I have been really pleased!

I’ve used this so far for miscellaneous uses around my house and my parents house. I’ve purchased it for the purpose of some additions we are building and intend to use it for app the trim and baseboard in the addition. So far for what I’ve used it for it’s been absolutely spectacular. It’s extremely fast and hasn’t jammed like the late model. This is truly a step up and a must have for contractors that don’t care to lug a compressor around. Not to mention the battery consumption.... it hardly consumes the battery! How is this possible I don’t know but I do know that i put a 2.0 amp battery in with 1 bar of battery life on its 4 bar indicator and it still performed perfectly. Nothing bad to say. Thanks Milwaukee for getting er done. That’s all

Reliable and convenient

il y a 4 ans
I purchased the tool for hone renovations and I couldn’t be any happier with results and performance of this nailer. I was lended an old compressor and nail gun that I could not regulate, so I went ahead and invested in this tool. The convenience of snapping in an M18 battery and have it ready in seconds is a luxury. Plus, not having to deal with wires and hoses increases the quality of life and working experience. However, this nailer eats up a good amount of power from older and smaller M18 batteries. But still functions as intended.

Works Great & Worth Having

il y a 5 ans
As a finishing carpenter & home renovator, an 18ga pneumatic brad nailer has always been part of my kit - along with the air compressor & hose. Now that could really change. This 2nd gen cordless nailer really hits the mark - sinks nails every time, fast recycle time, well-balanced, easy jam-clearing, stops firing when only a few brads left with enough room to get a full new strip in the magazine, tight nail driver end that doesn't blow the surrounding wood. The only aspects my pneumatic nailer does better - lighter weight & smaller size. For a good portion of the work I do, I can tell I'll be using this cordless nailer a LOT & working it hard. Waited a long time for this great product update from the 1st Gen cordless nailer, & super happy that I did!

Nice nailer.

il y a 5 ans
Bought this for a job in my house after being sick of mis-driven nails from a budget air nailer and having to lug around an air hose. It was really nice to not have to deal with tripping over the hose or having an air hose connector drop on fresh tile. Sure the milwaukee brad nailer is heavy and towards the end of the day after holding it at arm’s-length for a while i was a bit shakey, but that’s because i don’t do this kinda thing often; i probably would’ve found the air gun with hose just as taxing over the same period. I went through at least 500 nails on a 5.0 battery over 3 days and it never indicated less 4 of 4 bars of charge. I also have the m18 15° finish nailer; i like the brad nailer better. It’s more compact and can nail at more extreme angles.

I use this for all my wood working and trim projects around my house. It’s super convenient not having to drag out an air compressor and hoses especially when I just need it for something quick. The depth adjustment is super easy to use and is extremely consistent. The gun is comfortable and works extremely well. I have used it around 30-40 times and have had no issues to date, so I can’t comment on long term durability. I also own the finish gun and I have had no problems with it but I am not a professional wood worker.

No compressor, need I say more

il y a 4 ans
Sinks nails fine after you adjust for density/brad length. I am a professional carpenter and waited to get the II Generation gun. The unit is well build and surprisingly heavy. I am still getting use to the gun while trimming out a customers home. The guns trigger bumper has an arrow on it. It is accurate when shooting inline with the arrow. However, when shooting 90 deg. apposed to a 3/4" piece of trim it is difficult to center your shot, as the trigger bumper is almost a 1/2" from where the actual nail projects. Summary, if not careful, you over-shoot the 3/4" stock . Also, the gun is pretty tall for a brad nailer, making it difficult getting into tight spaces. Battery life is great, using a 3A battery. Restocking nail cartridge is easy. I had no nail jambs.

I'm mostly a DIY guy, but I do a lot of DIY. I have a pneumatic nailer, but needed to take my tools to a second site, and no compressor available there. This tool fit the bill. It is much heavier than a pneumatic nailer, but well balanced and the heft actually makes helps it be steady. And no chord to fight! Plenty of power- straight through 1/4-round, baseboard, drywall, and into 60-year-old (rock solid) 2x4's, with 2-1/4 brads. Easy to set brad depth. No defects/marks left on trim. Exactly what I was looking for.

I've been using this gun to shoot a full 2" of soft maple. It sinks every single time. Lightweight and powerful in very happy. Unless you're doing full production I find the small batteries last a really long time. My only complaint would be the no-mar tips. Almost every manufacturer is going to these designs that allow more sightlines. I prefer a full, square tip around the whole head that is easier to place on a variety of profiles. That's not a knock against the Milwaukee, they are all moving this way.

Let me start of by sawing I had a brad nailer from another manufacturer and it was a great gun. Then I saw the Milwaukee had came out with the second gen brad nailer and was very interested in it bc I already had the 15 ga trim nailer and love it. So I went online read the reviews and everything look great so I bought it. This gun is awesome! I use it almost everyday at work being a carpenter, such as crown molding to case and base and it’s a dream. It’s well balanced in your hand and the weight is good. I like there is no leg in the firing. It doesn’t jump like other guns when fired causing trim to move. There are different nose attachments that come with it. Which is great And no hoses or gas charges. There are a few guys at work that have tried it and say the same thing

So far, so good. I've installed thousands of feet of baseboard and casing in the short time I've owned the 18 gauge nailer and has not disappointed me yet. No jambs or miss fires. The foot print in only as large as the nail head. I did have to adjust the depth today while going through 3/4" oak but that is to be expected. After the easy adjustment it was just as I expected. I've been running it on the smaller 2 amp 18 V battery and it lasts through the day of constant use. Very happy with it.

A nailer every bit as good as a pneumatic

il y a 4 ans
I mainly use this for installing casing, trim, and baseboard. I have no complaints! This is very well made. Everything about it is easy to use: loading clips, switching out the battery, adjusting the nail depth, switching fire modes, etc. Now to the biggest concern most people have about a battery-powered nailer: is it powerful enough to actually embed the nails into the work? My easy answer is YES! Do some nails stick out? Also yes, but that's no different from a pneumatic nailer. This one leaves nails out about as often as a pneumatic. All things considered, this is well worth the money. No need to drag out a compressor that will likely need an extension cord. No need to fumble with an air hose that's a huge pain with its coils, air leaks, and simply tethers your tool. Love this nailer!
