Despite the other reviews...
il y a 3 ans
I'm happy to say that, despite the other reviews, this is a great product. I just bought mine recently, and have not encountered any of the issues that others have complained about. The blade is locked in tight, the blade flips out easily with just one hand, and the button is easy to press. The product feels lighter than some others, but feels like it hasn't sacrificed any durability. The blade holder is locked in when the blade is shut, which I personally like, and does not swing open on its own. It almost seems like Milwaukee learned from the consumer base, and made the necessary improvements. All in all I would say that this is an excellent product.
Bought the Fastback about a year ago and I find it easy to hold and open but the blade started to fall out several months ago when applying pressure while using the knife to score/cut drywall. I opened up the blade holder to exam the mechanism and found the little spring strip tensioner was not under tension. A minor adjustment returned the knife's functionality- for a while. The problem has returned. Not an effective tool at this point. I may adjust the spring again but I don't hold out much hope for a long-lasting repair. Would suggest a stronger spring strip.

The best
il y a un jour
I couldn't get my first one to quit, so I bought a backup incase I lose my first one. This utility knife is the best one I've ever used.
The old version was stronger, tougher and meaner. What's with this pansy version? Plastic... doesn't flip out one-handed with ease, missing the cutter and is just plain wimpy. One is a tool & the other is a toy. Please tell me you have a replacement belt clip for the old version because that's my only issue with the trusty old one... it fell off so I bought this new one to replace it. Please bring back the old one! This plastic fastback feels like it's on a fast track to the trash receptacle!
I have been using Milwaukee fastback utility knifes for 5 yrs now. I love the blade storage in the 48-22-1502 knife. But the belt clip is a little to short, it's hard to clip it in front pocket of jeans. The clip needs to be longer and wider, also body of knife needs to be longer, knife feels short in hand and taper down at end. I think it would feel better in your pocket at clip would be easier to hook front pocket of pants.
I bought the 1500 and the 1502 but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. They feel cheap in hand; the blades are loose which, when cutting, makes it feel like the blades going to release. The biggest problem is that THEY DON'T LOCK AT A 45° angle. If any of the stores around me had a 1903 I'd trade both these in immediately. I buy Milwaukee everything, for the most part but I'd hold off and just find an older version.

Would not buy again!

The ability to easily flip the blade out and back makes box cutting way easier, but there are some severe drawbacks to the design.
The most annoying and costly one being the fact that when it closes, it closes too far, damaging the blades! I went through 7 blades in a week because the blades kept smacking the interior!
The other drawback is the fact you can't adjust the blade depth like other utility knives.

Belt hook is on The wrong side
il y a 3 ans
I love the knife and so far I only have one issue with it. As a righthanded person I would like to be able to just draw the knife from my belt with my right hand in one motion. But as the belt clip is mounted on upside of the knife i first have to flip the knife once in my hand before a can make my desired motion. If they instead had mounted the beltclip on the tail of the knife this would be much smoother.
