Well worth the money!!!!!
il y a 3 mois
Very easy to use. Heavier than traditional air nailer but not fighting hoses and cords are well worth it. I will never be dragging around an air compresser and hose again. Installed full room of baseboard, shoe and trim around cabinets and doors. Didn't use a half of battery and no problems. Had my wife helping me finish up and she was addicted to it from the first shot. Had couple pieces of trim that needed some attention on another floor, was done nailing them back up in the time it would have taken to get compresser set up and ready. Planning on upgrading finish and pin nailers now!!!
Odd situation. Kitchen remodel went sideways. Long story short, all the kicks and quarter round trim had to come out. Contractor covered all the HVAC vents and winter arrived. WE NEEDED HEAT. Instead of waiting 3 months for contractor, I purchased this Brad Nailer (I own a lot of other M18 tools) and fixed his mistakes. This Nail gun was so simple, basically insert nails, insert battery and shoot! Quality is top notch. Milwaukee SAVES THE DAY! No compressor, no hoses, no figuring out which air fittings I need to make it all work, and 30 minutes of set up. It was point and shoot!
I do finish work for a living. I decided to go cordless beginning of this year. Started with Porter Cable 18ga and fell in love with having no hose or compressor. I finally splurged and went too of the line with Milwaukee M18 Fuel 18ga. I WAS so excited. Charged the batteries, inserted some nails, and let’s do this!!!
First nail…beautiful. 2nd mail… misfire. Blank. 3rd shot… beautiful. 4th shot…jam, grinding noise. I read the manual, even watched a few videos and got the problem handled. 5th shot… nail head sticking out of wood ½”. (Grab hammer and countersink and go old school). 6th shot… jam. It’s now back in the bag awaiting return unless support can help out.
I’ll update this review once this is figured out.
I’ve been mostly happy with this gun - I purchased it mostly for trim work, firing 2” 18ga brads. I’ve found that it consistently jams towards to end of a strip of nails - so much so that when I had to buy a box that were in half-length strips, it doubled the failure rate. Losing a couple of pins per strip isn’t the worst, but it is frustrating. The reason I’m here is that at the end of my most recent strip of nails, it jammed as expected, but having removed the battery and opened the reach at the top to remove the final few nails, the magazine will not slide open. I can’t find any help on this, so am hoping a company rep can contact me. In all, this is still a huge time saver and battery life is excellent. I would still recommend.
I’ve been researching the M18 Milwaukee Brad Nailer and after delaying for quite some time I finally pulled the pin and bought it. I read many reviews and the positive reviews convinced me to finally add it to cart and buy it. I will be using it to hold wall sections together on my deer blind till I fasten them with screws. I’m also looking forward to using it for our raised bed garden builds. My tools are all Milwaukee and I have plenty of batteries so I bought the bare tool. It is well balanced once the battery is installed. I’d highly recommend it!
I've had nothing but issues with this nailer since I received it. Sometimes it would work great, but then other times it wouldn't work at all. I tried all the troubleshooting steps to reset the striker, ect. which used to fix my issues. Recently, the nailer just stopped working all together. The striker gets stuck and makes a pathetic noise which I've seen users on Reddit having the same exact issue, luckily they were still under warranty and just returned it - I don't believe I am, so guess I'm SOL. Disappointed since this is not a cheap tool!

18 gauge gen 2 review!! Impressed!
il y a 2 ans
I recently purchased the gen 2 18 gauge cordless nailer, i am very impressed! I purchased a 2 amp battery with it and it was nearly enough battery for a stage 1 finish job on a 1300 sq ft bilevel. I hung all the interior doors as well as casing and casing on exterior doors and windows as well. I threw a second battery on to finish up. It left very clean nail holes and lasted quite long. So far very impressed, time will tell but if its half as good as their cordless 30 degree framing nailers im sure ill love it for years to come!!
Do not buy it and let it sit in your house for months without trying it the chances of you not being satisfied with it and returning it are very very high. I don't want no one else to go through what I went through five months later I take it out to use it it would not drive 2 inch Brad nails it being non-usable because all I use is 2 inch nails so I lost money on it and sold it why keep it all of my tools are Milwaukee that's all I use but do I have to switch to a different platform to have all my tools on the same battery

This thing is amazing

I bought this to do exterior wood restoration on my 125 year old house. I’m by no means a professional. This was the biggest project I ever took on. This was my 6th m18 tool and it is now my favorite.
I now walk around my house like Clint Eastwood looking for any trim or casing that’s gotten out of line, just so I can shoot it. Haha.
I’ve gotten rid of my air compressor and hoses, because this product makes life so much easier. Don’t hesitate, get this product if you are here reading reviews, it’s worth it in spades.
Disappointed in this Tool, Prototypes needed first
il y a un an
Tried to use on cabinets in our shop. The actuator is located in the wrong place. Milwaukee should have placed it at the tip because it cannot drive brads when holding the nailer on an angle. Would be great if you only use the gun when driving nails at 90 degrees. The nailer unfortunately is a poor design. Next time Milwaukee make a prototype and let professionals use it on their jobs for feedback on the pluses and minuses of a tool before manufacturing them in mass only to have returns and huge list sales!
Although I am not a professional in carpentry or construction, I do use a brad nailer quite often at work and home. I have never used or tried a battery brad nailer before. I have four different pneumatic nailers. I have had no issues so far with this nail gun. I probably will never go back to air nail guns. This worked perfectly so far and there is no air hose or compressor to lug around. The size and weight is heavier and larger that an air gun, but I don't think you even notice once the work starts going
Picked up the M18 Fuel 18Ga Brad Nailer as I had a project that required some trim work around windows and baseboards. I could have loaded up my 30 gallon compressor, 150ft of air hose, air brad nailer and dragged all of this up 20 stairs to the jobsite. But No, I already have the M18 Fuel Framing Nailer, and if this works as good as that, it's well worth it. The convenience of loading some brad nails, slapping a battery into the nailer and getting the job done. No ramp up time, pull the trigger and go.
I love the convenience of a battery operated naile

I just bought the M18 battery operated nail gun, I bought 18 gauge 1 1/2 nails and it won't continually shoot the nails, I installed 1 1/4 nails and no problem, I tried every brand of 1 1/2 nails and get the same results. There isn't a guide ridge for the 1 1/2 like the 1 1/4 but some plastic spring thing so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or is it the nailer? This is a game changer in time and not dragging a compressor and hoses around. I bought the 15 gauge first and haven't had any trouble with it.

M18 brad nailer
il y a 3 ans
I’m just a home owner in the pipe welding occupation. Father always told me to buy the best tools you can afford; and some times not the case some better cry about it once and have a tools that will last and is heavy duty. Just like this brad nailer. In my house and hobby crafts there isn’t any trouble of sinking the nails in any piece of wood. I would tell any and all to purchase the brad nailer as well as any tool by Milwaukee. Never had any issues with my tools which I try to take decent care of.
I have only done the baseboards and quarter round trim in a couple of rooms so far, but I am really impressed with this nailer. It's design lets you get right into the corners and the nail holes are super clean. The depth adjustment is nice too with audible clicks at each position of an easy-turn dial. I haven't had a nail jam yet, so can't comment on how easy it is to clear them but the toolless jam-clearing latch works nicely. Again, only limited usage, but I haven't had a nail not sink properly.
Very happy with this nailer and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Repeatable performance throughout the battery life is awesome. 1 knock, there is no doubt it is heavier and much larger than an air nailer of similar gauge.
Though the weight is noticeable, I would say the other thing catching me offguard is how quickly you are ready to nail. Sounds obvious but insert battery and you're nailing. No compressor set up, finding a hose path that doesn't trip you or your co workers and no clean-up.
This nailer is convenience at its finest! It has the power and speed to do the job. I am a trim carpenter and usually prefer the neumatic guns to set my doors but this nailer can easily take its place. Still too heavy to nail trim(Baseboards and such) at a production rate, however. Also, I wish there were options to buy the no Mar tips by themselves because once you lose them, they're gone. I lost the smaller precision one and that is actually my favorite and the nailer is not the same without it!
Great nailer. So much easier than air. Put the battery and you are ready. 4 star is for being a bit heavy and bigger than air one as well as it's harder to position the tip when you shoot nails to the age or on the angle. Luckily talked to Milwaukee rep who recommended to flip the rubber tip that solved the problem with aiming and slightly improved corner nail shooting. No other complains for far for now. Shoots definitely very deep of requred with a clean hole. However I haven't used a lot yet.
As the saying goes, a thousand people cant be wrong and they are NOT. I purchased this brad nailer to replace my very old Paslode. I was tired of buying the fuel for this tool so I did my research. The reviews that I read, good and bad, led me to make this purchase and all I can say is that GOOD reviews were on target. This gun has a quick reload time, I have put over 2000 nails through it and it has yet jam. The battery will last me all day without another charge. The variable depth setting is awesome and can be adjusted to almost any depth. Weight, is not an issue and the gun is well balanced. I cant say anything bad about this Milwaukee M 118 Fuel 18 Gauge Nailer at this time. A good test of any tool is the time it lasts and if it gets the job done. So far, I have no complaints.
A good brad nail gun with decent battery life with the supplied battery package. Light enough to hook on to pant pocket while using ladder to stick trim. Drives 18ga. 2" nails with no problem. One must line it up and apply good pressure to the decocker prior to shooting nail or it will not sink below trim surface. Can get a full day out of battery sticking trim. Fast action and no waiting on recovery for second nail. Ideal on remodels where dragging hose and small compressor can become tedious.
Milwaukee does it again! Great finish nailer. Lightweight, easy to adjust and load. I own the framing nailer, the 16 gauge and the 15 gauge but was dragging my feet on purchasing the 18 gauge nail gun because I rarely need one. I’m glad I finally broke down and bought it. I am officially cord and air free. No need to wait for air pressure to build up or look for a outlet for the compressor. Just load the battery and go. I have only used this on one job so far but it performed flawlessly.
I've had 2 of these gun and had problems with both of them. It works great for about 8 to 9 months, then I have nothing but problems with if jambing about every 10 or so nails. I like milwaukee and have pretty much all of there nail guns. But the price you pay for just the gun and then add the batteries ontop of that is really steep for a gun that I can't get to last longer than a year without sending it off for repairs. I've tried all different brands of nail with no change.

Amazing! Powerful! Efficient! Great tool!
il y a 2 ans
I absolutely love this brad nailer!! It is very fast and efficient! There is no wind up time and no wind down limit. I usually run it on a small battery ( smaller than 5.0) and it will last through one if not two or three jobs, very power efficient!
It also has a very high nail driving power, I still have yet to come across any material it won’t sink a brad into.
Very very pleased with this tool, very good build quality and makes me faster and more efficient on the job.
This nailer is awesome, so far used it for all window and door trim, baseboards, a feature shiplap wall and two large shiplap ceilings. Not sure how many nails I’ve shot with it yet but it’s a lot and not one jam up or miss fire. Heavier than pneumatic but worth it not to drag an airiline around. Battery life is great, full day of use easily on a 5amp battery. A good upgrade from the first gen which had some issues with the firing mechanism I had to fix fairly often.
So disappointed!! I love my Milwaukee tools but this one definitely leave something to be desired. I was so excited when I was gifted this nailer for my birthday. Took it to a job with a VERY tight deadline, left my air nailer at home an hour away from my job site. This nailer would not sink 2” nails. Depth adjustment did nothing. Tried 3 different brands of nails. Had to sink EVERY nail by hand. Nothing in owners manual on trouble shooting this issue either.

THE ULTIMATE BRAD NAILER
il y a 5 mois
Im using it everyday for trim, and other small-big projects. Nice addition to my M12 and M18 arsenal of tools. Powerful, love the option of being able to adjust the depth, the auto mode is awesome. Gets a bit heavy after prolong use, well, that means it is the time for a little break, and then repeat again! I use with Forge6 battery - lasts forever. Highly recommend Brad Naier and Forge 6 battery as well. Works will all batteries just as good BTW.
I’ve been dragging out my compressor and air nailer for every little project. The noise of my compressor limits the time frame I can work (kids sleeping) and this thing is quiet. I could use it in the same room as a sleeping baby and I guarantee it wouldn’t wake them up. It’s a little heavier but that’s understandable since it’s airless. It’s only jammed once, but it was cleared in 2 seconds. I’ll definitely be getting the framing and crown stapler.
I have the whole range of Bos**** pneumatic finish nailers and staplers and yes the Milwaukee is heavy in comparison.
That being said, I took 2” nails and sunk them just below flush on some scrap molding into a 2x4.
To make things interesting, I stacked 3 pieces of 3/4” red oak scrap just test the limits. Had to adjust the depth, but boy did it sink the nails. Some heads did bend over, but there might have been a knot.
Then just for giggles, I put it in bump mode and went to town in the oak. Worked like a champ. Used a brand new CP3.0 battery which helps with the weight. Not sure why anyone needs bump mode for a finish nailer, but it defaults back to single fire mode when power cycled.
FYI- I’m not a contract, just an avid DIY guy who’s father happened to be an industrial arts teacher. Milwaukee is always my go to tool.
Works amazing for most trim jobs. Has no problem sinking nails in casing and baseboard. Only time i had a problem was trying to nail a bunch of 5/8 G1S ply together with 2" nails, the heads just went below the surface. Dont really know when you would ever need to use a 2" nail into solid hard wood though.
Other then that, it shoots quick and no charge time between nails. This tool was the one that is starting my switch from yellow and black to red
This nailer is fantastic. It’s light weight ergonomic and will run forever with the right battery. My only qualm, which is actually pretty significant and is the reason for the 4 star review, is it has a consistent pattern of failing to sink the first nail. Its like the nailer needs a warmup shot before it gets going. This becomes quite frustrating and eventually time consuming, not to mention the aesthetic problem of having a nail sticking out.
