Loving it!
il y a un an
I haven't got to use it much, but so far it's impressed me! I like the speed and ease of loading the nails, along with the firing speed. As long as you understand it's not a pneumatic, I guarantee you'll be impressed as well. I've always been and always will be a Paslode man. Especially for large jobs, sheathing walls, roofs, and floors, pneumatic is the only way. But for most anything else, no hose, noisy compressor, or fuel cells, and it's a no-brainer! It's only downfall is it's on the heavy side. If they could lighten it, without compromising strength and durability, then they'd have really nailed it! No pun intended!
I recieved my 1st nailer as a gift about 15 yrs ago. Not being a professional carpenter, I thought it was overkill and a waste of money. Was I wrong, I found myself using it quite often. A shed, resizing larger windows, a porch, projects for others - I loved it. Finally, it broke and I began looking for a replacement. When I came across Milwaukee's nailer I just had to have one. No more compressors, no more messing with oil, no more tripping over hoses! This nailer is awesome - easy depth control and no more unknowingly running out nails. Trust me, you don't have to be a professional to realize the great value of this tool.

Bought it yesterday, worked well for half the day yesterday. Made it until 10 am today. Started by only sinking nails in half way, then after a few times of doing that and adjusting stuff on the nailer is started making 3 loud fast clicks and didn't shoot anything. Tried changing batteries multiple times. Doesn't shoot nails at all now. I will be returning tomorrow morning.
This being said I looked online and haven't found anyone else with the same problem. I could have just gotten 1 defective nailer. Milwaukee usually makes high quality tools, I thought if anyone could figure out an electric nailer, Milwaukee tool could.

Good framing Nailer
il y a 3 ans
I use the 2746-20 sometimes daily with 6 amp battery. When I tested the nailer with grip right nailes I had a issue with it sinking the nail all the way on 3 & 3 1/4. I am currently using paslode 3 & 3 1/4 in nails with no issues unless the nailer isn't pressed all the way. The nail setting is set to max depth no click at the end. All nails normally set correctly. In the future may be their will not be a issue with grip right nails & maybe a lighter version in weight. I might be good to have a way to update reviews by a link under account tap. My first review was worse on the tool though I don't see it to update quickly.
Purchased this a couple months ago to finally speed things up. Do fences, decks, walls, sheathing, etc. normally by hand hammering. Total game changer!
I have been using this for about two months and gone through just over 2,000 nails. So far no misfires, easy to adjust, no problems whatsoever... just smooth and reliable.
Got the extended magazine, highly recommend it. Battery life is awesome and they charge up quickly. Adjustments on the fly are easy and even the hanger clip has been working flawlessly.
Cannot recommend this enough. Total game-changer for me and helping me get more done way more efficiently.
I bought the gun as I am a carpenter and find it useful for smal jobs in a Reno. No need to set up the compressor, hose .... make it easier. I must say it is a heavy gun and hats for sure ... you don’t wanna work all day over heat with is. On the other side who does that ?? It has a lot of power. I never had a nail that was not compleate in. Verry inpressive also the consistency. If you work in construction you get used to the weight and still like it better then any other gun as the hose it’s annoying ... not with this one, fast shooting is the same speed if not better as it is more consistent and Han with a compressor.
I debated getting this tool because of the size and weight. I then considered the fact there is no hose drag. I pulled the plug and bought one. Great investment. No compressor or hoses to carry around. The gun has handled everything I have thrown at it. Pops 3” nails in like if not better than an air operated gun. Framed two garages and an addition on a home. Only downfall. If you can call it that. You have to buy the extended magazine if you want to double load the clip. The magazine that comes with the gun will only hold one.
I for one will buy more guns in the near future.
Once again Milwaukee has not let us down.
I bought this 30 degree framer after looking at Dewalt and Paslode. The Milwaukee had much better reviews than the Dewalt and mixed with Paslode. The advantage over the Paslode is no gas cartridges. I’m building 300 foot of privacy fence and I can say it has been a great help in speeding up entire process. I’ve had no jams, double nails, or lock-ups. I’m working in sections since I have to demo the old existing fence so I have only charged the battery initially and one other time. I have put 2000 2-inch nails and unknown 3-inch nails through with no issues. My only negative comment is the weight is a little heavy but I’ll trade tool weight for freedom with no hoses.
I have used similar products by other manufacturers such as Dewalt and Paslode and they performed good. I bought the Milwaukee M18 30 framing nailer because the majority of my tools are Milwaukee and I wanted to be consistent with the batteries. I was surprised how quickly the battery was consumed. Due to the weight of the tool I used 2.0 AH batteries which seemed like they did not last long. But the tool fired every time and did a great job the first time out. I would recommend this tool for the person that uses a nailer for shorter project. For the professional carpenter I would stay with the pneumatic nailers, I use both and they each have there strong points.
I'm in Australia and changed over to Milwaukee on the back of the nailer. It is amazing, I go through 3000nails a week and it is flawless. My only complaint is that it has so much power that I cannot set it to leave the nail heads exposed. I am a formwork carpenter and we often do this so that nails can be easily removed with hammer. Even for tack nailing. What I do is fire a nail and pull gun away from work piece and with good timing I can have nail heads exposed. In future generations it would be great for larger nail depth scale. Otherwise sooooo good. This gun makes me serious $. I mostly fire 2in and 3in nails.

Best cordless framing nailer I’ve used
il y a 4 ans
I’ve tried other brand cordless framers and never really liked them, orange or yellow, no good.
This nailer is not light but I understand the reasons why, so I won’t ding it for that.
Sinks nails into LVLs like it’s nothing, repeatedly.
My only complaint I have is the protective nose, it doesn’t have enough surface area to keep from marking boards if you are shooting into cedar or likewise finish materials IE exterior trim boards with stainless/coated nails. And no where to store the protective nose piece on the tool either.
Overall, although it just cleared the wall by an inch, home run Milwaukee!
When it works it is great. After 10 to 15 nails it refuses to fire as if it is jammed. Upon inspection it is not jammed, there are sufficient nails, and the battery is charged. I tried it again and it works fine. This goes on for a while with a rinse and repeat process. Finally discover if I just remove the battery and reinstall then it clears the problem. Simply turning it off and back on will not suffice. As I said when it works its great but this is annoying to use. Dont know if I just got a funky unit or what but ive had it too long to take back for an exchange now. So not really happy with it functionality.

Finally!
il y a 4 ans
I am a remodeling contractor of 0ver 40 years Over the years I have been on a steady path of battery power tools over corded types. Each time I make a change I, my first comment is "WHY did I wait so long?" This week I got this nailer. I sent my compressor and hoses home. The gun is heavy but not nearly as heavy as the hoses and compressors I sent home. That said, I don't care how heavy it is. It works great, does the job and feels great to use. You will not be sorry to make this change. I suspect on my next framing project I will rely on the air guns but for the daily projects it is really nice to leave the air home and not compromise on the power.
I'm in the renovation industry, windows and doors mostly. This tool frees up so much space in my truck with the lack of a compressor and hoses without sacrificing on performance. Though it is heavier than its air counterpart it will outperform it on a regular basis. Never running short on air psi means never finishing your nails by hand. And the rapid fire feature truly keeps up to an air tool, and blows the fuel cell nailers away. The only drawback to this tool is that it's a little heavy and overhead use will take its toll on the user. Phenomenal job on bringing the best air alternative to the market Milwaukee!
I actually just recently bought this 30 degree framing nailer about three weeks ago. I've used it consistently on several jobs including a house we just built. I have to say that it will easily keep up with fast paced framing. Another great thing is that it easily sinks 3 inch ring shanks into lvl headers. I did not even have to use my hammer once to set a nail in the lvl. Overall I have to say that Milwaukee knocked this out of the park. It is slightly heavier than a pneumatic but I honestly don't notice the difference being that I'm not fighting a hose all day. I would also recommend the extended capacity mag.
I have the same clicking problem as other reviews.
il y a 4 ans
Worked nice for awhile. Drove about 500 nails over the course of a few months. I just use it around my house and cottage. Then it started to intermittently triple click with no nail. Now all it does is make a loud clicking sound when you try to drive a nail. It has really let me down as I’m at the cottage this weekend and was trying to strap my shed I’m building. I guess now the onus is on me to make phone calls and run around to try and get this sorted. I have fourteen other cordless Milwaukee tools that I have had no problems with. I guess I expected the same from this one. Quite a few posts out there with the same problem. I wonder when they will do the recall and fix this problem

M18 Fuel 30 Degree Framing Nailer is Great tool
il y a 4 ans
Remodeling an over 100 year old farmhouse and I bought the framing nailer to replace my old air nailer and compressor. It is slightly heavy but you get use to it and actually the weight helps keep the recoil from your arm and hand. Effortlessly drives 3 1/4 full head nails into hard framing materials. So nice to not be tangled up in an air hose and with extras like a belt hook and rafter hook it is easy to use. Would be nice if it came with the longer magazine but a few extra strips of nails in my tool belt and I quickly can load and go so the more compact magazine is fine to work with.
I have switched from a butane fuel cell framing nailer to the Milwaukee M18 framing nailer and I don't regret the decision. The nose contact element on the M18 is thoughtfully designed. It makes toe-nailing much easier then my last nailer. The rafter hook folds in and out easily without loosing the function of the belt hook in the process. The M18 installs nails effortlessly and is a solid tool all around. The only complaint I have is the weight and bulkiness of the M18 compared to my last nailer. I think as I use the M18 more I will get used to it and it won't be an issue in the long run.
First thing you notice is its heavy, not sure how it compares to others though. I love the quality, would have been nice if it came with a box rather than a bag. Very little recoil and is very easy to adjust the depth unlike my old Paslode. Also wish it would stand up on the battery, sounds like i moaning about it but its really a great tool that could be made better with the next version.
For the life of me i don't understand why Milwaukee couldn't make the belt and joist hangers interchangeable as i am a lefty, it would have been so easy, everything seems to be geared for right handed people these days.
I really hope the seals hold up well as its not a tool i use every day, we will see.
I’m a plumber so I dont use my nail gun all day. I’ve owned an old gas operated gun in the past with alright results but was always left wanting more. When my new Milwaukee gun showed up I just about messed my pants with the first shot. The power behind the nail was more than impressive! I knew immediately that I had made a good investment. The depth setting adjustment works really well. All of the functions are really easy to operate and adjust. The only con is the weight. It is a bit in the heavy side. I don’t think as a framer that I would want to use this gun all day. Although as a plumber, this thing is amazing. Five stars all the way! Another quality product by Milwaukee! Keep it up guys!!!
Recently purchased the 21 Degree Framing Nailer, and it works like a champ. If you have never used a nailer before (pneumatic or battery), they can feel pretty large and bulky. However, that feeling goes away the instant you drive in your first nail. True to form, the Milwaukee nailer is a top quality product, and it fires nails endlessly and easily. Even better, the rapid fire mode (three nails indicator) really gets a job done quick. There is no ramp up time waiting on gas to move into a chamber, it just fires, fires, fires. My only detractor is how fast it runs out of nails. Yes, you can purchase the extended nails sleeve, but that really should come in the box; because you will want to use it!

Not recommended.
il y a 2 ans
Unimpressed. I love the portability, but it performs poorly in cold weather, and is not fully capable for production work (sheathing, rapid firing, overheats quickly and needs frequent rests). Had to send in for repair after 3 weeks, as it made a loud click after every fire, and it was returned promptly no longer clicking but still not performing to my expectations. I’m trying to frame right now at 30°F and it won’t sink 3” brite framing nails.I have now had the nailer for a couple of years- I now leave it for quick jobs around the house, but needed it today as we have no power on jobsite, and my generator is not available. Disappointed.
I am loyal to Milwaukee but would not recommend this nailer.

Better than my pasload
il y a 4 ans
waited 4 months for this thing and love it. Drives nailes deeper than my passload, and indeed fires nails as fast as you bump the tip. So far this thing is amazing. Was worried about recoil as my 15 guage nailer is shocking on the hand compared to others but this is very minimal. Only downfall is it wont hold too strips of grip right nails as the passload would, allthough with the extended mag it will hold 3 full strips of grip right nails wich is 66 nails. Not shur you can load as many passload brand nails in there. Only downfall is its on the heavier side. But hey. You get used to it
It’s great not having an air hose. The mail gun is a bit heavy and if you are using it all day framing it could cause elbow and wrist fatigue.
That being said the gun has plenty of power and it’s fast. I have had issues with it not feeding a certain brand of nails that uses a thicker paper, but when using Paslode nails it performs flawlessly.
Overall I really like the gun despite the additional weight. As a remodeling contractor I don’t do a lot of heavy framing work so it’s not that big of an issue, and the added weight definitely offsets the need to haul around a noisy compressor and trip over hoses while framing in a basement or a partition wall.
It’s definitely earned a permanent spot in van.
I was a bit skeptical about the power of this nailer before purchasing, but I’m sure impressed. It nailed 2 LVL’ together with
3 1/4” Ring shank nails and buried every one, this is one cordless that has the power to replace an air gun. Battery lasts for half a day framing walls. Only disadvantage is that it’s a bit heavier than an air nailer but the advantage of no hose is worth it. And in my opinion they should come with the longer magazine from the factory, shouldn’t have to spend extra for something that’s necessary. Ive been so impressed that I have since purchased a second one
I've been resisting buying a pneumatic nail gun, hoses and air compressor etc in anticipation for the Milwaukee 30 degree framing nailer. I could have bought the Metabo one but don't want to start another battery platform and the Dewalt one has that annoying flywheel I can't stand the sound of ramping up. Only found 2 negatives with this gun so far. 1. It doesn't like taking 2 strips of 2in nails in the magazine at once as they tend to overlap and cause a failure to fire. It works just fine with one strip. Secondly its heavy but that's a sacrifice im willing to make to cut the cord!
Awesome framing gun. Has ample power to drive 3-1/4” nails through engineered lumber no problem. Milwaukee makes quality tools this is no exemption. Pros are as stated powerful, precise and convenient/efficient. However cons are weight and the magazine needs to be swapped almost immediately to the available extended magazine (should be included in my opinion) because you’ll be reloading half a day with the small one. Regardless for remote projects or quick installs can’t beat the convenience of picking up a single gun and off you go. No compressors and hoses and generators etc.
Just have to say best tool for the trade, I own a small deck and fence company, a lot of my work is with new new home builds with many other trades on site trying to plug in to power is always a task breakers tripping all the time slowing down production, that when I decided to start reviewing cordless nailers and came across one for the Milwaukee cordless nailer nothing but positive. Since I own another Milwaukee products I started looking on line for one, nowhere to be found until June 15 is what everybody was telling me all on back order. So I waited the 2 months and some glad I did best purchase ever, planning on getting another one shortly. Compressor hoses and cords Pneumatic guns stay in the shop.
This thing fires amazing, has a ton of power and great battery life, world's of difference from the yellow one. It is however, very heavy, and for most things, overpowered. It would be nice to have a lower version for times when you don't need to nail into the hardest surfaces on the planet and don't feel like carrying this thing around. It's manageable for me, but it is definitely a bit hard on the arms after an entire day of use, and I've heard others simply say it's too much. But it will absolutely fire constantly even into LVLs better than any other nail gun I've used.
I have been using cordless framing nailers on the job for over 17 years now, and I have to say that the new M18 fuel cordless Milwaukee framing nailer has surpassed all my expectations as far a functionality, ease of use, power and speed. This nailer will definitely been a main stay in my tool box for many months ahead.
The nailer is a little heavy, but all of the other benefits it has out weighs this one small issue.
I am very impressed with how the nailer can drive a nail at any angle and sink the nail into the wood just like an air powered nailer.
Great job Milwaukee!
