Use in a Professional Automotive Setting

This tool is a game changer. The compact size allows to reach so many fasteners. With extensions, wobble extensions, and universal sockets this has become my go to. Even more than my ratchet, of course there are still situations where the ratchet is necessary. The power output is more than adequate and really outright impressive. I have used this to successfully replace control arms and rusted shock mount boots. My truck lug nuts are torqued to 150 foot pounds and this removed them with ease. The fourth mode is my favorite setting and it is excellent. The torque limiting makes it appropriate for delicate applications. The slow down for loosened nuts has greatly lowered the amount of dropped fasteners. This helps me to make better time on my jobs and make more money. I absolutely love this tool!

M18 Stubby 3/8" Impact

The M18 3/8" stubby impact is a longer-lasting version of the lighter weight and smaller M12 stubby impact (both 250 ft/lbs) for those wanting a longer time of use between charges or who are already outfitted with M18 tools and batteries. While the larger battery size will prevent access to the occasional tight spot, having the extra battery capacity and duration is a benefit if working on remote projects. This is also an excellent option to keep in your vehicle or RV as a standby.

I want to love it!

I have wanted one of these for ever and never could justify it. I just recently got a job that this would come in handy. I want to love it, great power, break loose torque, lightweight. But idk if it is just the one I bought but the friction ring will not keep any socket on. As soon as you tip it any direction except flat they fall off if you aren’t holding it with your finger. I have to assume they are not all like this but for the cost I’d expect a little better quality.

Best gun I have

I used one of these short guns at my shop one of my employees had. I was impressed at the spots I can get in and the torque this little monster had.
I enjoy snapping rusty bolts and and working the snot out of this gun and it just keeps going and going...
Battery last a long time has the same power no matter what stage of battery life I'm at.
So thanks again milwaukee tool for making another impact that puts snap on notice!

Very impressive power in a compact

As luck would have it. One of my tires on my work truck got punctured by a nail the day before I was to get a new set. So I used my 3/8 compact impact to bust loose the lugs. And as no surprise it handled the job with no problem. It made quick work of removing them, even the stubborn ones. It got me back on the road in no time. Great tool for building strut racks to changing a tire.

Perfect for those medium size jobs

Excellent little tool. When you need something more powerful and faster than the ratchet but not the size of the 1/2” this tool fits the bill. Has been the ideal tool rebuilding differentials to quickly assemble and disassemble multiple times while selecting shims and getting everything just right. Snug it back together with this guy before a final secure with a torque wrench. Worth every penny.

I love this tool! I have similar tools in craftsman and the craftsman tools doesn’t compare to m18 3/8 impact. M18 battery holds up 2 to 1 compared to craftsman and the torque is tons better. I would recommend this tool to and shady tree machanic and everyday garage. I love it and will try other tool from Milwaukee. This is my first one then I also bought the 1/2 in m18 impact!!

Great value

I used this tool for almost all my automotive repairs or projects . This tool offers such versatility when working on projects even though I have the 3/8 head size it works great. I soon will be buying the 2767-20 for those hea ier bolts and nuts that I come across that this cannot undo. It even works on most lug nuts. I fully recommend this tool

Overall tool is great lots of power dependable but the biggest problem is the snap ring to hold sockets instead of the ball that all my tools have a hole for!?!?! Why does it not have an option to choose what style anvil you want .. the 3/8 ratchet I have from them works great thanks to the ball maybe milwaukee should consider changing !?!?!?!?

Unbelievable how well these m18 tools work. Milwaukee has it figured out! I recently decided I wanted to standardize my batterie tools to stick with one platform all around. Milwaukee was a great choice. This thing beats trying to get my old snapon in a tight spot and also out performs it on price and power. I wish I had done this a while ago!

Very happy with this impact but wasnt sure how i was going to feel about such a wide nose on the gun. The old fuel was narrow towards the anvil which helped get into tighter areas but this gun is shorter and seems to get in places just fine, still would of been nice it it narrowed down a but more though. But other than that great performance.

3/8 drive Fuel Impact

This 3/8 Square drive impact is exactly what I needed. I do commercial/industrial construction and repairs, I can't begin to think of how many 3/8 and 1/2 inch socket adapters I broke running my regular fuel impact. On the high setting it puts out 250 foot pounds I believe. That is incredible for a tool that is 5 inches from back to front.

Great tool plenty of power and compact enough to get in tight places, uses a good among of battery witch is probably the only down fault as in order to be able to make it true a full day of work have to use a decent size battery witch can be an issue to use it on those thigh areas where it should be most efficient against its competitors.

Makes work so much easier than large bulky tools

Best investment in a while. As I get older, tired of using the bulky heavy tools. This thing has so much torque, I use this to take off tires and everything else as I work on cars nowadays. No more heavy 1/2 inch drive heavy impact wrenches. Well unless I have a 32mm bolt.
All other bolts, this compact impact wrench is awesome!

I was skeptical at first, however... Great tool for the tightest of places thanks to the compact and durable design. Used almost every day for light and heavy projects. Milwaukee 3/8 Compact Impact - Great tool!

New - most recent purchases on Milwaukee tools were done to replace the Dewalt I got rid of - but this tool is new to the collection and have only used it once - but can definitely see I will use it often. I like the size, weight and convenience of it...it is a Milwaukee so I am sure I will have it for a long time.

Downside of this impacts

The flat face is a poor design, it makes it difficult to get it on fasteners that are close up against anything. The previous model with the tapered head allowed better access in that regard. With this one you need an extension to get the angle and then you loose all your torque. It’s still a good tool despite that.

Love this impact . It is compact enough to get into tight spots and has plenty of power to remove rusted exhaust bolts. It's light weight vs the 1/2 impact, comes in very handy when having to work over your head or reaching out off a ladder for a prolonged period of time! Wish I would have purchased this sooner !

More than just power, it is comfortable

When it comes to power, this impact has far more than what was expected. But more importantly, it is light weight and very comfortable. Tools need to not only do what is expected, but also needs to be easy to use and ergonomic. This makes them much more likely to be used. Milwaukee nailed it with this product.

M18 3/8 impact mid torque

Decently powerful
But some torqued bolts don’t come off for a while and it’s well within the stream this gun should handle.
All in all decent gun, but definitely require a 1/2 inch or high torque for some nuts just to ensure nothing snaps or warps
Overall 4.5/5 gun for me the weight is also amazing.

M18 3/8” compact impact.

Used the impact to rotate tires on my truck. Broke all the lug nuts free on each wheel. After tightening with the impact I checked them all with the torque wrench and each lugnut required minimal tightening to reach the 100 ft lbs I set the wrench at. All with a 4.0 ahr battery. This little guy is a beast!

No more Snappy!

I traded my snap-on 1/2" and 3/8" brushless impacts for the M18 fuel impacts, and the difference is MIND BLOWING. I work in the automotive industry and use my impacts quite regularly, but since the switch I've used the 3/8" to do things that the snappy could never have done including removing lugnuts.

Knocks loose 60 year old rusted unions with ease - really helpful tool for working on old cars & old rusted connections. Worked great on delicate brake line connections with a set of flare nut crows foot wrenches. The different fastening torque settings are very useful. Outstanding tool.

Love it! No more firing up the air compressor for lug nuts & suspension nuts/bolts. It's stubby enough to squeeze into those tight spots behind the calipers & backing plates. So far it's had enough power to break loose all but the rustiest of bolts under our rust belt vehicles.

Excellent Product!

It's an excellent ImpactWrench for the price compare to others. Does what it's supposed to do and it's not too heavy like other brands. Comes with 2 rechargeable batteries and a charger. I use it out in the oil field with lots of difrent applications and so far its been grate!

Finally justified buying one

Seems like Another good milwaukee product, I've only used it twice, once for a stubborn 38mm washing machine drum bolt that couldn't be loosened by had(about 2 seconds with impact) and used to remove lug nuts from vehicle torqued on at 100 foot lbs (took about 3 seconds each)

Great 3/8 inch impact!!

Great tool for what it is! As always Milwaukee makes a quality tool. This for me is primarily used for my travel trailer jacks and lighter duty use. It will break free lug bolts on your vehicle but actually have the 1/2 inch impact to do that. So far happy with the purchase!!

On average a great product, but day to day torque capabilities at best range from 35-60 lbs for about a month before the frame insert becomes worn out to where your 3/8 sockets start to become loose and fall out. Put a welded bead on the insert frame to lock the sockets in.

Small but powerful

I am very happy with this tool so far. It is small but powerful and great for work in tight spaces or where a heavier heavy duty ½” drive is not needed. It broke free a number of rusted nuts off bolts with no problem. Now I have to see if it holds up to continued use.

Great tool-they say u can get a more powerful smaller tool like this from other companies but it is great takes lug nuts right off no problem I used it a lot to tighten 3/8 nut’s and bolts it’s really a good tool and was not too expensive definitely a must have
