First off, I love Milwaukee, I use this product for detailing cars out of the back of my truck, worked great....until it didn't. Batteries would drain faster than I would have thought for the MX FUEL. It would say it is overloaded and start beeping. and then after a few times, the fan stopped working, I have had to send it in for repair ender warranty 3 times already, and I have only had it for 4-5 months now, maybe less. Each time I am sent out a new one and it does the same thing. And Milwaukee can't tell me why it is doing it. None of my equipment should be strong enough to overload this generator.
Milwaukee....I expected better from you.

Really excited about this power station, I’ve used it a lot since i got it. I set it up for a while in my truck with my battery chargers it’s great being able to charge batteries off it while commuting. I used it considerably on a 10” table saw and worked perfectly. Most impressive use was with my makita dust extractor and festool RO 125 while fabricating some Corian. It was able to power them both smoothly. Even when power is available is convenient to not have to run long extension cords when working new construction. (The pure sine wave inverter built in is the reason you can charge batteries off this or other sensitive electronics) I also brought this camping this passed year my wife loved using it!

Great Generator

Just received my generator the other week and have been using it almost daily. Love how quiet, portable, and powerful it is. Runs a variety of tools on the job. Charges the M18 batteries great, even if that seems odd to do with a battery power generator. Can listen to the radio over the sound of the generator, and talk on the phone over the sound. Works great in the freezing temps of Wisconsin! It does have an auto shut off feature when power draw is minimal, but is a nice feature to not drain the MX Batteries. Highly recommend for anyone in the trades needing a generator!

I needed something other than a generator that would supply power for running my tools on job sites that didn’t have power. This unit is a heavy duty/compact power supply unit that works great for all my corded saws (table saw, skilsaw, chop saw), job site lights and any other corded tools I need to use to complete my job. And it’s Quiet. I’m thinking of getting another battery for it because some days it doesn’t last me through my work day. I have 3 big batteries that I charge every night.
But I would give this Unit an 8/10 rating.
Very pleased with this product.

I use this product in an area where there is no power and gas generator really isn't an option. I figured this product would be great as I use many milwaukee products as a lineman in my utility. I got it 3 years ago and right out of the box, the unit only ran off 1 battery terminal. It has 2.
After contacting Milwaukee and sending it off for repair i got it back 3 days ago i was hopefull that it would run off both terminals. It does which is great. I tried it out with 2 LED work lights that draw a total of 640 watts. I am getting a really bad flicker on these work light. I turn 1 off and the flicker goes away. But being well under the 1800 watts this unit produces it is disappointing that I now have a different problem after it was repaired for something different.

Not ideal for low or high use applications

Originally purchased this to supply power to my sleep apnea device while i was working off grid only to find out that the generator turns off after an hour of use, even in use. Switched it over to work and the generator only runs about a half hour to an hour on most of our tools before being completely drained of battery. Really only useful in niche situations where you need power for 10-15 minutes and dont want to haul around a gas powered generator.

Hello Josh. The MX FUEL™ CARRY-ON™ 3600W/1800W originally shipped with a low power, one-hour timer that will shut the power supply down to conserve the battery after 60 minutes. You can remove this timer functionality for no additional cost by sending the bare tool through eService or a factory/authorized service center. We have since implemented a software update that will remove the timer functionality in all product going forward. Please contact our team at 1-800-SAWDUST for additional information.

This product falls short. Never expected this lack of performance from Milwaukee tool. Pulled this unit out of the box, charged the two included batteries for 2-3hours and it was test time. This thing could not start a 1600 watt heater. The M18 version of this guy starts the heater right up. Connected a laptop charger and noticed the voltage output between 83-100VAC. Not good. Not how I wanted to be introduced to the MX line.

I would not recommend this product. Does not last.

I do electrical testing. We purchased 4 of these units to run LED light towers 13 amps per light we ran one tower per inverter. Lester less than a hour. I was taken back. I thought maybe we did not charge all the way so we re charged I check them my self they where fully charged same results. Great concept but does not last. Vary disappointing. Love my Milwaukee tools but this one is a definite FAIL and waste of money.
