Love Milwaukee, Won't Buy M12 3.0 Again.
il y a un an
Purchased the 3.0 for my Mother's Milwaukee heated vest as part of her gift for Christmas 2022. She used it twice Jan/Feb 2023, charged it and put it away. Charged it again in June. Pulled it out to use on December 16, 2023, the battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge. Tried on 2 different chargers. My son gave her one of his 2.5's from his work tools for our outing, but very disappointing.

Lots of issues
il y a 3 ans
I too bought a heated jacket. Have had it for a few years now but can NEVER find a better that lasts a winter. Believe me, the battery is hardly used and never for a long time. I would buy new replacement batteries and have the same problem. Before getting excited about the idea of a heated jacket, be willing to pay the price for a regular jacket only. Chances are that's all you'll have.

Short life
il y a 10 mois
I bought this battery thinking would get extended use of my tools. At first, the battery worked great and was recharged a few times with no issues. However, shortly the battery wouldn't charge to full capacity and could only be used for a short time. My other 12v batteries charge ok and last as expected.
Hopefully, this battery gets a redesign. Certainly dissatisfied with this one :-(

Don't buy

This battery worked great until it didn't. Got it for my heated vest and while my 1.5 works great, it doesn't last long enough at all. My 3.0 started blinking red and green when charging after 2 years of using it 4 months out of the year. I went to see if I could get it repaired and it cost more than the actual battery itself. Cool.

Not sure about these 3.0 batteries.
il y a 3 ans
I have about 10 milwaukee tools between m12 and m18 and at least 12 batteries. I have 8 year old m12 1.5ah batteries that still work. This battery is definitely less than 2 years old. Probably charged less than 4 times and it already doesn't work. Just flashes red and green. No external damage. Nothing. Too much tech in a battery.

Do NOT buy a coat with the 3.0 battery
il y a 4 mois
I bought the Milwaukee coat 5 days ago and loved it for the first 3 charges. Now my 3.0 battery will not charge. I have tried the base, the C charger and get nothing on both. The battery last about two hours in the coat “when” it did work which I thought was horrible. I would not purchase this item again! Do NOT waste your money!

Will not charge after 2nd use
il y a 3 ans
Bought into the M12 lineup, best designs for tools in this size, the pin nailer in particular. The batteries themselves are hit and miss. Like others have mentioned, same issue that almost new batteries will not charge. In my case not heavily used, stored in dry, warm locations always. Room for improvement in battery design.

bad cells in batteries
il y a 4 mois
I have had multiple m12 and m18 with the bad cell problem they will shoe dead in the tool and green on the charger .. sometimes i get the red/green flash of death... come on Milwaukee stand behind these batteries and replace them like you did with the bad m18 hd12 with the same problem . i was told sorry just buy new ones
The batteries are great and light, that's the good. The bad is the black housing and tabs break easily. I have 3 batteries that I cant use in a tool because of this. I use them in my heated jacket but come on, this needs to be fixed or a least let me buy a replacement part. I hate to throw out an otherwise good battery

I have about 60 Milwaukee batteries between the M18 and M12 line. They are all still working EXCEPT for the M12 CP3.0 batteries that I bought less than a year ago. I get the dreaded green and red lights flashing on my chargers (I have tried on several chargers). This is leading me to question the entire M12 line.

I have three of the 3.0 batteries for my heated jacket. All three of them have gone bad with flashing lights on the charger after only two weeks of use. I thought I was the only one until I came here and started reading The reviews of others with the same problems….. what’s a solution for a better battery ?!??

Good battery, fragile housing.

I recently bought a set that included the Surge impact driver. Both battery housings are now broken! I carry them inside of my Milwaukee job site backpack (in the pockets of the bag) batteries broke! I never dropped the batteries. I’m always super careful with my stuff. Milwaukee please correct this!

Well i might have had this battery for a year? Mabe used it 6 times and charged it three times. Always kept indoors where it's dry ad warm. Now it will not charge. To much technology in my opinion. Love Milwaukee stuff but this is the second battery to do this in just over a year.

Great battery but mine is defective
il y a 4 ans
I have all the M-12 batteries but only one of these, I love that it’s compact, but mine only lasted about 10 charges before it started flashing Red and Green on the Charger. I would like to recommend it to others but I’m not sure if the special high capacity cells are As reliable
Too bad they only last a little over 3 years and gives no warning it’s going to die. I had the same problem with the 6.0 that came in the pack, but it died in 2 years. Love the M12 tools but the batteries are garbage. I’ve got yellow batteries nearly 10 years old still going.
These 3.0 batteries are junk. I bought two of them, and they both failed within a year with the exact same problem -- refusing to take a charge with the charger blinking alternating red and green.
No issues with the 2.0, 2.5 or 4.0 batteries, but these 3.0 are crap.

They are good as can be expected out of a small battery but there is on small manufacturing detail the spot where you squeeze and pull the battery out there are 2 sharp pointed pieces of plastic that if you fingers slip you can rip open your finger as I did
I have a lot of tools and batteries, but the M12 batteries are crap that I bought less than a year ago. I get the dreaded green and red lights flashing on my chargers (I have tried on several chargers). This is leading me to question the entire M12 line.

My son received the battery powered heated coat in December. The battery (compact charger and power source M12 red lithium cp 3.0) won’t charge ( green and red light showing when plugged in). This battery is only 2 months old and only used 4-5 times.

Wow! I am shocked to hear of some of these problems, but fortunately for me my M12's have worked well and I've had no problems other than 1 dying after a couple of years. I especially like the size of M12 tools and their power as I have several!
Purchased a heated jacket and it came with the M12 3.0 battery. Just after two years, the battery will no longer charge / hold a charge. I only used the battery for the jacket and use the jacket maybe 15-20 times a year, mainly for hunting.
If your battery is out of warranty, we recommend sending it through our LMR program. Our Lightning Max Repair Program (LMR) guarantees that you only pay the actual cost of the repair and protects you if the repair costs exceed the LMR quoted price. Good battery life but easily broken.

I have to of these and both have the front black plastic bits broken off. If it were are more durable plastic (glass filled nylon) it would be much better. As it stands Milwaukee could sell replacement caps since they are easily removed.

Charged many times over the 2 or so years in daily use. (I have two of these among 8 total) with no noted loss of performance. Wish they'd make the black cap/retainers available. I've repaired a few, but junked others due to breakage.
The only positive thing about the battery/charger is that the charger charges the battery well. The negative is that I have yet to release the battery from the charger. I have to ask someone to help me. Disappointed in this setup.

Excellent battery life and quick charge.

I paired this with my hackzall and a pruning blade to cut 1”-4” branches. I’m not sure exactly how long it ran for, but I was out there for almost 3 hours and only changed batteries once. Recharge was very fast as well.
What I think about the people who complain about the battery falling apart, maybe you shouldn't put it on the tool so hard! These are great batteries! If you take care of them you wouldn't have this issue!
Second 3.0 that won’t take charge. Charged once and now will not take charge I get the flashing red and green lights even tried every charger I own m12 m18/12 the USB one it came with no luck at all.
