Not bad

We use this to vacuum filters for large communication routers and fibre optic transmission eqpt., etc. We were shocked at the short run time which should have been printed as a chart for various batteries on the box to avoid this surprize; we are using a 6A M18 and get about 30 minutes turning it off & on.
It is very loud and has an ear piercing frequency, so why is there no muffler available? Also, there should be optional AC power as a back-up. A lanyard to secure it when on a ladder would be a nice option.
Since we use many Milwaukee M18 tools, this was a good fit. It is portable, has a good wet/dry filter, easy to use and maintain. The vacuum itself is priced reasonably, but the larger batteries are expensive for the run time. It has very good suction with a large capacity 'tank' which is easy to empty.
Other than the noise and lack of optional AC power it is a great product.
I've had mine for about 3 years now and have zero complaints. Tons of suction, havnt broken anything on it, works great as a step/seat (although it says not to stand on it, im 185lbs). Honestly a great little vacuum. One 5ah battery is enough to clean out 2 vehicles, ive actually never ran it till the battery died, but usually only 1 bar remaining after 15min of use. Would deffinatly buy again.
It’s a very handy vacuum for smaller jobs unless you have the PROPER battery for longer run time. It’ll pick up most construction debris and isn’t too noisy. And, if you treat it like a tool made out of plastic the clips shouldn’t break off. It’s not meant to suck up heavy wet stuff so don’t buy it because it’s handy and light then expect it to do the work of an industrial tool. It ain’t that.
Fantastic. Love that the hose and the attachments store under the lid. The vacuum is lighter than my old vacuum even with a large capacity battery installed. The power is excellent. Easy to empty and clean the filter. The battery lasts much longer then the competitor's model of mine that this replaced. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a powerful cordless easy to transport vacuum.
I bought it and loved it. And on my third vacuuming use the button shorted on me and it won't turn back on. Changed batteries and tired different ones on other power tools to make sure they weren't the problem. So now I'm returning it and going to get another, hopefully it does have the same issue. Being an avid Milwaukee buyer I think this isn't a common issue, buy it still is frustrating.
I needed a small high performance vacuum and after looking at 3 or 4 other ones my (then) wife pointed out Milwaukee made one. I liked the fact it used the same batteries I already had too.
This is an awesome little vacuum, it worked so well I had to buy one for the house too.
I saw some people wished it would run on 110 and charge the battery. That would be a bonus to a great product.
Bought this for my business. With several trucks on the road everyday they get pretty gross and most cordless vacs are a waste of time and money but this little guy really does a great job and is light and compact enough to keep anywhere for quick use. I bout two batteries and that helps but it does goes through a battery pretty quick. The only thing I would chalike to see is a longer hose
I was excited to use this and thought it was great at first. That's until I used it to suck up a bunch of drywall dust - when I was done, I turned around to see the entire room filled with a cloud of dust. Something's not right with the unit or filter. The filter is seated all the way, but it blasts fine dust out of the exhaust - rendering it kind of useless for anything indoor...

Excellent Product...!!!! It's What you would expect from Milwaukee.. I use this Everyday now when I'm required to Anchor into the Concrete... I get the Best results with an 8 hour Battery but the Smaller ones work well too .. it's So Light and Portable and Extremely easy to Clean and Maintain... Thanks guys for making my Cleanup easier.... CHEERS and SEMPER FIDELIS....!!!!
This has been a great addition to my packout travel setup. Great little mobile vacuum, good suction, versatile attachments and the lower power setting is pretty quiet if you’re not trying to interrupt others on site. My only complaint is I wish there were a battery indicator visible while you’re using it instead of locked inside, but other than that I’m very happy with it.
This vacuum worked super well for three to five light uses before failing. No heat it noise, just stopped. Looks like a switch issue is pretty common in this model. I wish I had read more reviews before purchase. I got part way thru the warranty process before becoming increasingly frustrated. It sucks (or used to anyway) because it really worked well when it did work.

M18 9.0 discontinued??
il y a 2 ans
I have the older style m18 2gallon wet/dry vac that I purchased without a battery. I had purchased a 9.0 for this Vac which needs replaced however it’s no longer available in Canada. The recommended battery on your site is the 9.0 so I’m not sure which one to purchase considering the new 8.0 does not fit properly. The vac will run but the lid won’t shut. Suggestions??
John, could you give our team a call at 1-800-SAWDUST? This team can assist with some suggestions!

Loved for the 2 months it worked

I'm a contractor and use exclusively Milwaukee tools when battery powered. Have never had anything but love for them until this. Battery died and will not power on after swap. Another on here had the same issue it appears. I understand it wasnt the top model but 2 months is a bit ridiculous. Should be noted I never used the wet aspect, only dry saw duct and dirt.

I use this vacuum to clean all the nasty stuff inside my customers cars so I don't get them all over me when am working on a customers car or personal is really handy because I don't have to have a cord or something there is no way to hook to power outlets sometimes cars comes whit broken windows so I use it to clean the glass from the doors is absolutely awesome 👌
Had this vacuum for approximately 1-1/2yrs has been a great tool for me but unfortunately the hose has started coming apart at first I taped it and then it broke in another area. As for finding replacement I haven’t had much luck, and what I’ve found are about half the cost if not more then buying a new vacuum. I’ll say I’d recommend it but be extremely easy on hose
I am a long time purchaser of ALL Milwaukee products. As a Technician I use the battery power tools for everything. At home the lawn has never looked better with the weed eater, blower, pole saw, and Chainsaw. This shop vac has also been amazing and easy to use to clean out the vehicles, or replace the floors in my home. All in all. Best products on the market.
I own a plumbing company and we use these vacuums for a wide variety of work. They perform just as they should.. when the hose does not completely fall apart. I've gone through multiple hoses now, one within a day of using it. The storage capacity could be a larger as well, and the battery can be tricky to get out at times. Still a decent vacuum for what it is.

Terrible vacuum
il y a 3 ans
They need to redesign this vacuum...or don't fix what wasn't broke. I had the old vacuum and it worked great...never really had much issue but the switch quit working. Bought a new one and hate it...ya spend more time cleaning out a plugged hose than ya do sucking stuff up. I really like having a battery vac for quick cleanups...but this is frustrating to use.

The first generation version was superior.
il y a 10 mois
Horrible redesign of a reliable product. I personally have a 1st Generation model and have never experienced an issue. Based on that, my company also purchased one of the 1st Generation 0880-20 vacuums and it has been reliable.
We needed a second vacuum and found that it had been redesigned. The inside storage for the hose is OK, but we use these constantly so the external hose caddy was a nice feature on the old one.
The big issue is with the hose jamming up. Because the hose now has to bend 90 deg. inside the lid, it has become a choke point. We vacuum up metal chips from drilling, metal sawdust and wood sawdust. The 1st Gen vacuum would suck it all up. The new version ends up clogged with debris. We have to remove the hose and use a metal rod to knock out the jam.
I would never buy this new version again. I would rather try to find and old stock 1st Gen. 0880-20 or even try to find a used one that works first.

Poor quality
il y a 2 mois
I am extremely displeased with the quality of this product. Used it maybe a handful of times at most, and never in a tough work environment, only at home light uses. The hose has broken in about a dozen places.i shouldnt have to replace the hose so soon, and if I do is it gonna be the same garbage quality? Not sure i wanna waste more money figuring that out.

Love the vacuum , but hate the hose
il y a 2 ans
I love this vacuum I used It in multiple job sites , hospitals as well and there big on HEPA vacuums . Unfortunately I came to a complete stop in using it because of the hose , coming apart . Might’ve been the way I was using it but over all it’s been with me for awhile . I can’t find a replacement through stores so hopefully Milwaukee would email me back
WoW, this lady pulls in the dirt and LOVES to scream OUT LOUD when she does. If I had to compare the decibel to something I would say...chain saw at full throttle. I do wish that it also had a 120 volt cord as on optional power source as the battery runs about 15 minutes (18v XC). It is "portable power" though. Get yourself some ear plugs before use.
If it weren't for the portability of it, I wouldn't even give it one star. I have many m18 tools and this is the first time I've been disappointed. The suction is so weak that it can barely pick up sawdust, you have to be right on top of it to do so. I've been wanting to add a pole saw and extinction to my outdoor collection but after this no thank you.

Powerful suction
il y a 3 ans
Works great (& definitely overkill) for my needs like cleaning out our wood burning stove, my pellet smoker, and small cleaning jobs in the garage and house. Its compact and has a lot of suction. I just wish there was a cutout for the power tool adapter so it didn't have to sit in the battery bay. The lid won't close with it in the wide adapter section.
The hose keeps breaking. I managed to repair it once by shortening the hose and re-attaching the nozzle after cutting the broken end of the hose off, but I can't find replacement hoses anywhere. I have had good luck with many Milwaukee tools, but this particular one was a complete dud because the hose keeps breaking, and there is no way to repair it.

I just cannot kill this little vacuum
il y a 3 ans
I have rode this vacuum hard and put it away wet almost every day for 3 years now. I primarily use the vacuum to clean water spills and unclog the nastiest drains around. I never use the vacuum
dry or use the HEPA filter. Only have a few things I do not like that should have been addressed by Milwaukee.
1; the expanding hose is garbage. (Not a Milwaukee problem, ALL expanding hose is garbage) I use a section of non-collapsing hose for daily use.
2; the caged ball that blocks the suction needs a screen around it to keep debris from getting sucked in and blown out the exhaust. I had to wrap the cage with window screen.
3; switch is on the wrong side. If the tool was sold as a blower with a hose and was primarily used in that configuration the switch placement makes sense. This tool is sold as a vacuum and is primarily used as such. Either hand used to hold the vacuum and you have to use your pinky to turn on/off. Just plan stupid.
Great product! Nice to have in the work truck for cleaning cabs of machines and my truck to sucking up broken glass shards from broken windows. This is a replacement for the one some lowlife stole, my original one worked great for years, stopped working one day but tore it apart and found a broken wire, simple quick solder job had it working again.
At TPA1 in Ruskin, Fl. we use these wet/dry vacuum's on a daily basis...the M18 4.0 battery last long and is powerful enough for industrial level of cleaning...the Batteries are quick charge and have hundreds if not thousands of charge cycle's...they are somewhat expensive but well worth the cost...in fact I purchased one for my own HVAC company...
This Vac Sucks, But not that well. The 90 degree turn in the hose into the tank causes any debris, like pine needles or wood and drywall scraps, to get lodged in the hose and causes the vacuum not to be effective. the older version was a straight shot into the tank and that one was perfect!!!! I do not like the new model because of the new update.
I love this thing. From cleaning out my work truck to pull string threw NM conduit this vac kicks butt. Had it for over two years and it is going strong. It does kill my m18 4.0 quicker than I would like but throw anything bigger and it will last for hours. Also if indoors it tends to be louder than expected still a great product as always!
