Works good but needs improvement
il y a 4 ans
The Shop-Vac does work well however it is desperately in need of some improvements. I have had three units fail with in 18 . I currently have two that I am shipping out for repair , all failed in the same way in which they will not turn on. other than that issue in the cold weather it is nearly impossible lock the filter in place because the gasket hardens and will not compress allowing the filter to lock in place. also the feature of locking and unlocking to disconnect the hose is very hard to do.
Thank you for your review Justin. We appreciate your honest feedback and we will pass your suggestions along to our team. Thank you. -Jacob

At the shop we have invested in a lot of Milwaukee tools...countless drills, the big 1" impact, lights ect. I've had/used this vac for some time and was happy with its portability and performance until it died on me last week. I thought my battery was drained, but I have since tried multiple fully charged batteries with no luck. Not excited to try and deal with Milwaukee, and I thought about buying another but I see I'm not the only with experiencing this issue. So I'm at a loss. Milwaukee HELP.

New Unopened Box - No Filter Supplied with Vac
il y a 6 ans
I wanted this shop vac to clean my boat and vehicle with out lugging around cords. I already had a M18 battery so I thought I was good to go until I realized areas I had vacuumed were getting dirty suddenly. I quickly realized it was the shop vac, and opened it up to find no filter was installed or supplied by the factory. A quick call to my friend who bought one a few months ago, stated his came with a filter pre installed. Unfortunately my spouse was upset because I made her seats all dirty cleaning the floor, because it was blowing dirt all over. When Milwaukee said Bare Tool, I didn't realize I needed to supply a filter too. I own a lot of Milwaukee Products, but this oversight is a quality control issue. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this purchase. It caused much unnecessary frustration.
I love this vacuum! I can do all my work on the jobsite, like hitting any size corners, vents and what not. Too numerous to mention and stuff. Then I can carry it into my tool van and pickup truck and get that squeeky clean. Finally, I take it home to the garage, there's a water spill with dirt spilled, you know how garages can be, and get that cleaned up. I think it's a really great all-around tool that I use weekly on different locations and projects at home at work and elsewhere abroad!!
This was a great workhorse and very convenient while it worked. Good vacuum power and great runtime. But I put an M18 battery in it today, and like others here, it ran for 2 seconds and then stopped. Couldn't get it to run again. It was a fully charged 3.0 battery, also tried 4.0 and 5.0 M18s but no luck. I had an older V18 NiCad battery, so I tried that and it works. So I've got a half vac now: ok on V18, but all my M18 batteries are worthless for running the vac. Disappointing!

Have purchased 3 now!

We have been very impressed with the quality of these vacuums for the money. They are reasonably priced, and outdo the competition every time. We have 2 at our company shop for cleaning out our service trucks and semi trucks, and I bought one for my own personal shop as well. The only downfall is that the suction hose can become brittle, like anything plastic, and break in very cold weather. I would still highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality portable vacuum!
This portable vacuum sucks, literally. It is much better than I had even expected from a Milwaukee product. You’ll have high standards, and every Milwaukee tool I’ve ever had lives up to those standards. This thing is amazing for its size.
I only have one minor complaint. And that’s that it goes through batteries like I go through cinnamon candy, very quickly. Would you recommend that if you purchase one buy two batteries so you can charge one while you’re working with the other.
Trying to get it replaced at the moment. Was just using to simply do some light cleaning in the truck, turned it off wont turn back on now tryed different battery still no power. Made sure it was clean etc. Just simply stopped turning on? Id like to hear from milwaukee on this one, and wht i can do to replace it or fix it? No battery will turn it back on just randomly stopped. Worked great, stored great, i'd love to see this resolved as a long time customer to Milwaukee products.

Love the thought of this vacuum....but.....
il y a 6 ans
I love this vacuum...the size...the user friendliness...the convenience.....
But...I can't stand the performance.
Its terrible, the suction is that of a old school 20 year old dirt devil that barely picked up anything.
Id love if Milwaukee keeps the same size of this vacuum, and creates a better, newer and improved maybe a Fuel version that actually sucks way better.
I still leave this on the shelf and get my corded Shop Vac.
..My advice...wait for a new version.
Hose is too short and the weird diameter does not fit any standard extension or hose. The first time my guys used it the hose tore off of the end. The hose sticks at the inlet end and is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of you are gullible enough turn it to the lock position. It is made to be portable for small jobs and it is good for that, but they located the switch in the rear so you can not turn it on/off when carrying it. The debris bin has a lip on it the makes it quite a bother to completely empty. The filter is good and snaps into place. The battery is IMPOSSIBLE to remove especially the large battery. No space to grip it. I carry a Wonder Bar along to get the battery out to change it. Other than those things it is a good machine. I would buy one if Milwaukee did a better and more thoughtful design.

I've used this puppy for everything. The only issue I have - and it's a big one - is the batteries are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to remove. Zero exaggeration - I'm a fairly strong guy and it takes nearly all I have to rip the batteries out of it. I'm wondering if the plastic is molded too tight or something, but have never had this issue with any of my other Milwaukee products.
Other than that, I love the product. Feel free to reach out Milwaukee if you can remedy my issue.

Good Vac. Getting the hose off sucks
il y a 4 ans
The vac itself works great. The downfall of this vacuum is the hose attachment in side of the vac. You use the vac and the hose plugs up and you need to remove the hose to clear the blockage. Forget about it. Cause how it locks in, it get jammed up with dust so it doesn't slide easy and the tab they give you to grab is in a hole so it's not easy to put your hand in to grab in the first place. So good vacuum just the hose attachment to the vac needs to be re-designed.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your honest feedback about your vacuum and we will pass your suggestions along to our team. Thank you. -Jacob

Milwaukee Tool has finally succeeded: They have made a perfectly useless, poor-performing tool. Oh, it will pick up dry blades of grass from the floor of the car OK .... but it won't even move a small pebble. Seriously poor performing vacuum. I wanted to ditch my corded shop-vac (just tired of dragging a cord around), but this tool is NOT the answer. Oh, and let's not forget about the attachments that WILL NOT stay attached to the hose. A complete waste of money.
Pretty surprised by how well this works. I mistakenly thought I was buying the Packout model, but have been so pleased with the performance of this unit that I hung on to it. Impressive functionality, super light, hella portable. Could use a longer hose option, but it works for a number of tasks and I usually end up using it before my shop vac because it's easier to manage and move around.
TIP: Works great for draining toilets if you're going to replace one.
I like the compact size of this vacuum but after owning it for about 6 months, the vacuum just stopped working. It's never had any hard hits falls or damage before so I was surprised to see it worked one day and then when I went to turn it on a week later it wouldn't work. I've tried different batteries and it still won't work. There are many similar issues on line by other people so hopping milwaukee will stand by its products and repair or replace.

I would buy again. But how many do I have to buy
il y a 2 ans
Great vacuums, until the hose goes. I own a plumbing company and have purchased these for each of my vans and 3 out of the 6 have had hoses come apart. Went to our Milwaukee service store and they ordered new hoses and they were the wrong hose. Went on the website to find replacement part numbers and nothing. I see a lot of reviews on this same matter. I would by this product again, but it does seem they are made to have to buy them sooner then later.
I use this vac for clean up on cabinet rework. The right hand latch broke on this one and fell into a space between cabinets and the wall so i can't get to the piece.
Looking up the part shows it is discontinued.
The box that it came in was tossed out as i never have had any Milwaukee tools needing to be returned. Not sure i will buy another one based on how easy the latch broke.
I bought 2 of these already, hope the 2nd unit doesn't fail.
Nice vac, I purchased it for cleaning interior of cars and clean up on small home projects. Nozzle selection that came with the tool is good, for my applications I would have also liked to see a brush-style nozzle. I like that the nozzles and hose are contained in the top of the vac for storage. I found the battery life to be good on a 5amp hour battery. I could thoroughly clean about 1 vehicle interior (minivan or 4 door) on 1 charge.
I purchased this vacuum about a month ago. I like the suction power and the tool storage inside of the unit. The problem I have with the unit is the hose end came apart on me. I tried to put it back together but had no luck. The hose is leaking and is now down on suction power. I have stared a warranty clam. We will see how Milwaukee customer service is in taken care of this matter. I would like a hose replacement to fix the problem

Great for any Maintenance crew…
il y a un an
It’s the Easiest to set-up and ultra convenient! Not heavy, nor takes up much space, but despite how small it is, it can do plenty of work! Work in an industry plant where there is a lot of walking and hauling tools from one side of the plant to the other side often occur. This being light and compact helps with our crews to be efficient, definitely recommend, even if you’re not a Milwaukee guy, pick it up, worth the purchase.
I used my vac only a handful of times on some little jobs around shed and warehouse picking up mainly dirt and small gravel. I wasn't impressed by the running time I got per battery or the awkward bend along with short length of hose. I got rid of the vac when the hose broke off the the head on my last and estimated fourth time using it. I hope to find another Milwaukee shop vac that suits me better. I think they will come thru.
I work for a big self storage company and every property in my district ordered one of these and all but 1 have completely either stopped working or in my case the dirt just comes in and blows right back out the other hole. The hose is correctly fyi. The battery last about 20 min and the hose has already cracked and the vacuum has not been used but about 10 times. Very poor and way too expensive to have so many problems
We used this to vacuum up soup like mud with clay in order to get to a pipe that we had to find to fix. This thing kept going for over an hour, at least, like it was nothing. We tried using a large shop vac and this Milwaukee vacuum is a power house, it put the usual large shop vac to shame. I also used this when I detailed the company vehicles. Hands down, this is a must have. Clearly well built and trustworthy.
We have had for under a year. It worked great for the half a dozen or so times it was used to vacuum our vehicles. Then today I tried to use and it will not turn on. Tried multiple different charged batteries and nothing. Usually Milwaukee quality is great but this item missed the mark. I'm also confused how to try to get it fixed or replaced. It doesn't seem easy but then again I'm kinda dumb about these things...

Was short lived.
il y a 9 jours
Have had this a few years now, not sure I would buy again. I’m constantly fighting with it to release batteries from its grip. The hose is next to impossible to remove when it’s clogged. Despite those issues I’ve learned to work with it, but more recently the hose has started to unravel. It’s the second time I’ve had to tape it back together now… soon the unit will be useless unfortunately without a working hose.

Solid and convenient tool
il y a 3 ans
This is a great tool! It's very handy as with all the other M18 tools. It sucks/slurps up whatever is at task. Being a cordless vacuum, it does have it's limitations, one being that the job will take an extra moment or two. For me, that is totally worth the convenience I get from this tool. It stores easily and can be taken along where you might not usually think to. It will go camping with us in the trailer.
Overall, I am extremely impressed by this little vacuum. Using a 3.0 XC battery, this vacuum ran all day in my shop with no issue. The hose that it comes with is extremely flexible and easy to manipulate.
If you need a work table/bench vac as a close companion to tackle saw dust and quick clean ups, look no further. Taking this guy with you from job to job is extremely easy.
10/10 would recommend.
This is so handy, very powerful, and I tend to use it quite a bit. My only complaint is the location of the switch. It should be on the other side/end of the handle (the suction hose end) so that if you are carrying it around like a lunchbox (I do this quite often), you should be able to toggle the on/off with your thumb of the same hand you are carrying it with and still have maximum hose in the other.
I got this thinking it would be a great tool to have. After un packaging I quickly realized the hose isn't long enough, so I bought some longer adapter tubes. Then I ran the battery dead and replaced with a fresh battery. It now won't turn on until a while after changing batteries. Highly disappointed with Milwaukee. After reading the reviews it seems I'm not the only one having the battery issues!

Lots of suction but lacks detail
il y a 5 ans
Great little vacuum for the most part but falls short when used in a finished home. I Am often patching drywall and the filter just isn’t cutting it. The vacuum blows dust everywhere no matter how often I clean it. Wish there were accessories like a bag or a foam filter cover or a secondary filter/defuser that attached to the exhaust side. Probably going to sell this one and go get the little Rigid.
