[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the YTH18542 18.5-HP Hydrostatic 42-in Riding Lawn Mower which is practically identical to this model on 28 June 2020. - Aug 2021 Weld cracked on mower deck rear attachment :( - 0 July 2022, Engine cam shaft broke 1 less than 90 hours on mower :( - Took to dealer for warranty service - Min 10 weeks just to get parts! - 28 July 2024 @ 138 Hours Transmission went ou,t Tuff Torque K46 Same transmission in this one Really disappointed because I love this mower when it is not broken. Reliability is not what one would expect. For the cost of this riding lawnmower it should last more 2.5 mowing seasons

We purchased this tractor about a month or so ago from a local retailer, as our previous Husqvarna was getting older. Used once and noticed alot of vibration and engine not sounding good, used one more time to just make sure it wasnt working like the old one. Went back to the retailer and we were told because we put gas in it, we were unable to return it :( ..recommended we take to a dealership to see what was wrong..there were several things done to the mower for repair, but said they couldn't fix the rattle completely.. very disapointed with this tractor after spending this much money..

I thought I bought a good mower. but I've had nothing but trouble with the engine. first it wouldn't start because of senser on the camshaft. then no one wanted to fix it. was told it would be cheaper to buy another engine. then told not to buy this engine because it is known for this same problem and will happen again. Other option is to rebuild but most engines last about 30 days after rebuilding. Now my engine blows oil everywhere and is ready for junk pile. Bad part is I take care of my mower like a collecters item. clean and well serviced. do not recommend this model to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some people like a lot of bells and whistles, others just want to get the job done. This mower is the latter and is a good value for the money. It runs well, feels good, and has plenty of power for going up and down reasonably shaped slopes. Fuel use is average to good, even if there is no fuel gauge and you'll need to check under the hood to see how much fuel you have on board. It looks like all the main servicing areas are fairly easy to reach, too, so it's a good steady workhorse under average conditions for those whose lawn requires more than a pusher but less than a zero-turn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worst lawnmower I ever owned. The transmission, which requires no maintenance, blew in less than one season. I had to spend many hours with Lowe’s, their warranty company to even talk to someone about getting it fixed. They finally agreed and had it picked up in November. I got it back on January 31st. The mechanics said the transmission problem is a common problem and basically a disgrace for what used to be a premier manufacturer. I previously owned a Husqvarna tractor and it lasted over ten years.

I bought this mower a couple months ago. I have never had a mower whose deck bounces around so much. It makes circle cuts past the grass roots if I hit a bump. I have never had to worry about rolling my lawn with any other mower, but I will have to with this one. It is also annoying that I can't go in reverse while I have the PTO engaged. I was able to with previous mowers, granted they were zero turns. Maybe that makes a difference? I'm not sure. I thought the sliding seat would be a nice touch as well, because I'm a taller guy. I was mistaken again though. It doesn't stay locked in position. I have mowed my lawn less this year than any year previous. All due to my severe dislike of this mower. I am going to try and pay it off as quickly as possible so I can get a different one.

I have not had and engine problems since I bought it so I hope it stays that way. Perfect for the price also. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this mower for 2 months now, and so far, I am very happy with it. It starts easily, runs well, and cuts well. My only complaint is the poor seat design. There is a handle on the side to adjust the seat front or back, but the teeth are too small to lock it firmly in place. This means that every time you hit a bump while mowing, the seat will suddenly slide forward. I feel like this is a safety issue, so I'm hoping they issue a recall and offer a replacement seat.
