I have had many saws. This saw had good reviews so I bought it. Saw starts and cuts nice.
But don’t like the drive gear. Chain go’s in the drive Easy if you are on a bench but in the cold difficult and when chain get losse it throws the chain so you need to keep chain Tighter then other saws.
I am a 67 year old land woodlands owner and have tried every brand of chain saw made I think. Junk, junk and junk, I have pulled chords thousands of times I think on chain saws that were constant problems. Tried Husky and now own three. If they fail to start in about three pulls they are out of fuel.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So much more torque than my other saws. It goes through logs just as fast as my closest saw as far as engine size goes but my other saws are a 62cc and a 74cc. This is only a 56cc and it is very comparable to the bigger saws. Very little vibration and so much easier to hold for long periods of time.
I have had my 455 Rancher for a few years and couldn't be happier with the performance and quality. I cut 7 cords of wood a year and have never had any issues with this saw. Quick start, always reliable. Bought another Husqvarna saw (Rancher 450) to have because I was so impressed with the 455.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently bought this chainsaw and I couldn't be happier. this thing is powerful. cuts great and is not cumbersome at all. very comfortable to work with. have used to cut several trees and had no problem cutting through some big stuff too. great piece of equipment! very highly recommended
Bought this in 2015, as I burned up my cheap Homelite saw cutting wood for heating. decided to spend the money and invest in a decent saw, best decision I've ever made. I make sure i use the Husqvarna Pre-Mixed fuel in the last tank before i put it away, and it starts every time, by the 3rd pull.
I bought this saw about 8 years ago and I have never had any sort of problems with it. We heat our home with wood so we cut a lot of firewood. Since I have owned this saw I've never had to change anything on because it has failed. It has always fired right up with no idling issues. Very good saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a 455 rancher and it is quite powerful! Had no issues slicing through pine & oak. Bucking up large pieces with ease. Easy to clean, only problem I’ve found are the flip up gas/oil covers get stuck and I’ve broken a few with the scwrench trying to pry it open. Otherwise no problems at all!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great chainsaw. Have not used it much but works wonderful so far! Love that the bar oil has 3 settings depending on your bar length! Got a 5 year warranty by purchasing 1 gallon of Husqvarna fuel! They also have an app that shows you how toos, parts info, and manual for your chainsaw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am the third generation owner of the rancher. My grandpas saw is almost 30 years old, my dads 20, and mine is almost 10. While the saw continues to see innovations and improvements, the core remains the tried and trusted product that allows us to cut 30 cords a year. Husky family for life!
Have been running this saw for over 15 years. Great for tree maintenance and brush clearing. Have also used it several times for Hurricane and tornado clean up. Have an Echo 440CS and this saw is hands down my favorite. Rugged and reliable, it starts right up even after storing for months.

Heavy/Underpowered

I am not impressed with the power. When cutting through a 12-inch diameter downed tree I have to cut downward then raise the bar and chain, cut downward then raise, repeatedly, otherwise the chain will stop Hence, I can[t just cut straight down through without stopping. I expected better.
I am a home owner that cuts around 4 cord of wood per year. I bought a brand new 455 rancher 2 years ago and now it's dead. No compression and the cost to have it repaired is more than to buy a new saw. My old husqvarna lasted 14 years. My last 2 have each lasted less than 2 years each.
Saw starts pretty easily initially however if you shut it down to take a break or refuel.... well good luck trying to get it started. Tried every fifteen minutes for over an hour before it finally would run. I’ve read other reviews that this seems to be a common problem with this saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The carburetor is constantly coming out of adjustment. Even after replacing it twice with genuine husqvarna parts. Consequently, from day 1 it's been hard to start. 5 pulls minimum even after it's been running 20 or 30 minutes. Cold start is 10 or 12. I'm going with Stihl from now on.

This work horse amazing after Hurricane Katrina
il y a 3 ans
Myself and my parents bought ourselves each a 455 Rancher for clean up after Hurricane Katrina, These saws made quick work with or clean up having many large pine trees down, some over 30" in diameter. The power and ease of cutting helped to get through the fallen trees for removal.
I bought a Husqvarna 455 Rancher Chainsaw over 20 years ago. I've cut alot of trees and purchased several chains for it over the years. Just did my first repair. The primer bulb finally got a crack in it. I love this chainsaw and wouldn't trade it for anything. I highly recommend it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this saw about 9 months ago and we are very happy with our purchase! We use this chainsaw all the time. We have never had any issues with it. We also bought the kit to keep the blade sharp and use the husqvarna fuel to insure we contine to have a great working chainsaw.
I bought this saw years ago and have been impressed with its reliability, power, and handling. I have owned other saw brands and none compare to this saw. I have put it through the ringer and it still starts and runs like a top. This saw can be used in a multitude of settings.

Rancher 455
il y a 9 ans
Saw leaks chain oil like the cap is off. Power is OK but not great for the price. I would rate this with the "old" craftsman it replaced which cost ~40% as much. Chain brake will kick out sometime when taking apart, making it hard to reassemble. Very experienced do-it-yourselfer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model 455 rancher is exceptional in performance. I have had several chainsaws in my lifetime and this model is superior to the ones of the past. Ease of use and the operators manual instructions are clear and precise. I would also recommend avoid using ethanol free gas
Ive had this saw for a while now and you cannot tear it up trust me ive ran through many chains and still havent had anything it couldnt cut that includes cutting huge live oaks and ripping boards after hours of use itll still fire right back up and keep on cutting like a pro
Bought this ran good till chain went dull. Had to take it to the shop oiler quit working. Bar forze up ruined the bar and chain. Money out of my wallet to fix it. Factory should replace the bar and chain. But haven't heard from them till they want a review. Working good now.
I’m going on year two with this saw. Great power, reliability is always there. I’ve bucked about 30 cord with it, fell many trees and it’s just been there. So, I just ordered a 572 XPG because of how pleased I’ve been with my 455! Great home owner saw, I highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this saw is around 4 years old . when it was it was great . i had a problem with it no staying started on full throttle, was told it needed a full rebuild at a cost of 1 1/2 times the cost of a new one. this was used at home a few times a year for 4 years.not made to last
Just bought this saw and getting used to it still but absolutely cannot believe the power. I have always been a stihl guy and thought I would give the husky a try due to the warranty and price. Definitely happy with my purchase so far and excited to see how long it lasts!

Good Power & Weight Distribution
il y a 4 ans
I have been a longtime owner of a 450, and recently upgraded to the 455 Rancher. For just a little bit more weight, I find the power and efficiency is perfect. It starts reliably, cuts terrifically and, like the older saw, is easy for me to maintain by myself! Great saw!

Brutal oil leaker
il y a 6 ans
Purchased in 2011, Like most, not a bad saw, but leaks bar oil like crazy! And has leaked since day 1. And recently have found that it takes a lot to warm the saw up to where it will idle for any amount of times. And I maintain well with spark plugs and fuel treatments.
The 455 Rancher is a perfect balance of power, weight and size. It’s easy to start and makes an excellent step up from an entry-level saw (such as the 445). A 20” bar is a perfect match for the engine. It’s the only saw I need for clearing land and cutting fire wood.
