Easy to handle, cuts true, convenient
il y a 7 ans
Owned and use this often for the last couple of years now. The cast shoe is nice and flat and never had trouble with it twisting list other stamped shoe saws.
It rips through plywood all day without effort. Cutting 2x lumber works fine as long as you have a nice sharp blade and a larger battery (4ah+); it cuts through the lumber just fine but will burn through the battery pretty quick. These things in mind, I rarely have a need for my corded saw, this little guy does 90% of the work with much more convenience.
Cuts nice and straight. I know exactly the width from the shoe edge to blade on my setup, and use it daily with a long guide to dice up plywood lengthwise to prep it for the tablesaw. Other saws I have had would bind or cut crooked when the shoe deflected, and the DeWalt has not had this problem. My go to little saw!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product about 3 weeks ago and have really put it through its paces. Love the weight and the ability to work without pulling an extension cord. Cuts great. Powerful even with the batteries I purchased with my Dewalt Cordless Drill. Realize after using this for a siding job, I need bigger batteries so I can get longer use without recharging. Love the saw so much, I have asked for a bigger XR battery for Father's Day!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just found out about DeWalt’s tool registration when I bought my newest tool, so now I’m coming back to review the great stuff I’ve had! This saw is amazing! I do Class 8 truck and bus maintenance as well as RVs. This saw was a purchase I have never regretted. It has floored many buses over the years cutting 3/4 plywood for hours on end without issue. The biggest complaint is that in order for this to really work you have to use the 5 AG battery. I bought it as a bare tool and instantly realized I needed those.
I wish I could say I babied it, but it rides around in a service truck most of the time, its been left out, dropped, knocked off of tables and dropped off a 12’3” roof without damage. It has crossed over and done many RV repairs and never missed. If it ever quits I will absolutely buy a new one - and take better care of it thr next go around.
I bought this saw as I have other Dewalt tools that I love. It's been used for a few home projects (weekend warrior). I loved this saw in its function, weight, cordless capability. BUT, after only 1 to 2 hours total run time over 18 months it has failed. It's never been dropped or mistreated in any way, but something has gone wrong with the internal circuitry. I'm really disappointed in the quality and durability of this unit.

Light and powerful
il y a 6 ans
Will cut through pine like butter and some very hardwood (little more time)
Excellent saw, have it for a year now, second circular saw, and for the control, the brake system and the level of confidence it gives me, that's my go to saw.
Only bad thing is the guide on the base that should be an arrow to guide you on the line and instead you kind of have to hide the line, kind of confusing untill you get used to it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own two of these. I rarely use my MAG77 anymore for this saw does the majority of what I need. And I have yet to buy the Flexvolt Worm Style, though it would be more out of want than need. Its light, ergonomic, and powerful enough. It is underpowered when you want to gang-cut sheets of OSB and plywood. My two wishes would be that it were brushless and that the bases didn't bend so easily from a small fall.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great addition to the 7 1/4” circular saw. This 6 1/2’ circular saw is lighter than the 7 1/4” but very powerful. Features between the two are very similar. One of the designs on this one I really like is that the blade is the the left of the hand grip. This allows even better visibility of the cut line. Great for right handlers for sure. Highly recommend. And yes you need both a 6 1/2” and a 7 1/4”.
I bought this saw to cut off some bad half log siding. It is light enough that I could use it one handed off a scaffold though I would not recommend it. I had bought it as part of a kit and it had a 1.5 aH battery pack. You really need a bigger capacity battery for any extended cutting at all. The saw really burns through the charge. I do have another 1.5 battery to use, but they take time to charge.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the saw for about a week. I bought the saw because I needed to do some work on my raised bed garden. The job required many overhead cuts and this saws lightweight made it easy to control and not tiring. I have also started using it as my main saw because it has plenty of power for everything as of yet. It is much less hassle than pulling out the cords!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Of all my Dewalt tools I own this saw has been my least favorite. The biggest issue have with this saw iOS that it drains my battery very quickly. I can only get a few cuts before the saw starts to slow down. I am also using the correct battery size for this saw. Other than that when it is fully charged it has good power and can make good cuts.

Go to saw
il y a 5 ans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this saw for a few months and it’s my go to saw. I cut melamine all day long. Rip in half and saw performs with no lag. Cut multiple cuts to install shelving. One 5 AH battery and lasts all day on single charge. Had people comment on how the saw performs better than corded saw. Definitely recommend this saw if you need mobility
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very often it is convenient to just grab a saw and do a small job without having to garb an extension cord as well. The DeWalt DCS391 fit that need nicely. Cuts are quick, neat and easy without the cord hassle. I've been wanting this for years and finally obtained one. Have used it many time since my purchase a few months ago.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the 20V MAX 6-1/2 in. Circular Saw about 4 months ago and very glad I did. Got tired of dragging out an extension cord to do small projects. Now I pull out this saw and I can get the little jobs done quickly and I'm finding it perfect for the bigger jobs also. Excellent blade brake. Appears to be a quality build saw.
I love this saw. It cuts so much better than I would have imagined for a “battery powered” tool. I got this because I needed to build shelving in an area that had no power available. I wasn’t sure how a “battery saw” would function. But this saw cut through 3 layers of 1/2” OSB (1.5” thick) like butter.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not a professional tradesmen, but do appreciate a quality tool. This thing has a good amount of power and can cut through a 2x4s with ease. Nice to have a brake on the saw. The guard got hung up a few time on long cuts but made some adjustments for that. Nice strong saw and replaced my “green one”.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] May not be the biggest animal in the field, but what an animal. Chews through every project I have done recently with no complaining. Plenty of power, ample agility and excellent running time. No complaints at all. So much better than dragging cords and never have to worry about battery life
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use these saws as our primary construction saws. We used to lug around those big heavy corded worm drive skill saws, but we use these for 90% of what we used them for. Still need a table saw or worm drive for ripping, otherwise these little guys are our choice over the old bulky types.
I have a small shop in my garage and I couldn't be happier. With a 4 amp hour battery*, I can work on a project and never have to worry about losing power. Saw cuts well and nimble too. I love this tool almost as much as the Dewalt jig saw I bought!!
*battery purchased separately
I have used this tool a lot over the last year since i bought it. I am very happy with the tool the only thing that I would have to make known is that when using this tool make sure that you are using a stronger longer lasting battery. If you don't then it binds up with simple cuts.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first cordless tool that I have purchased besides drills and impact drivers. This saw has tackled every job I've thrown at it. Make sure to have a 4 or 5 Ah battery and the proper blade for your job and you will never have to worry about running out of power.
Saw performed really well in helping to reclaim some oak flooring in my Victorian home. Light, handles and cuts well, with no cord to worry about and efficient battery usage. Only concerns are the plastic saw guard and the lack of easy-to-read measurements on the shoe.
I always wanted a good cordless set of tools. I'm after having 2 corded circular saws and a couple corded recip saws. My best friend moved away and gave me his pair of 20v drills and this little skil saw with 2 ah batteries and charger. I thought....if there ever was a time to start the cordless tool set I always wanted the time was now. Like a lot of people....I can get into a different type of job to do everyday. Had someone call about spreading a bit of crushed stone. He had asked if I would dig a couole holes for a cement pad. With the freedom of cordless tools I was able to pick up the extra bit of money on the job because the house was brand new with no power yet I was able to bring the saw. Build the couple boxes and I was hooked. I now own 8 20v tools and 6 batteries and a couole chargers and couldn't be happier
Thank you dewalt for making these cordless tools that to me....they perform just as well in some ways as the corded tools.
P.S my corded sds max 3/4 combination hammer has been a God send
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this saw for a couple years and I can’t complain at all. I have used this saw on numerous projects. The first project was installing new laminate floors in my upstairs. This was a great little saw for the project. I am never disappointed with Dewalt.
I agree with most reviewers. Excellent quality and battery life. Just one piece of info, its easy to miss the blade tool. There is not a good reference to it but its there on back handle next to battery. Comes with the saw (tool only) but have to look closely.
I bought this last year and haven't used it a lot but, when I have, it has been lightweight, powerful and easy to use. Battery life is good and the electronic brake is wonderful. The footplate is sturdy, and the angle/depth gauges seem accurate and robust.
I bought this to do a framing project. It won't cut but an inch into a 2 by 6, and then it stops. Battery is still there, but the blade doesn't turn in the wood. Hoping someone can tell me I am doing something wrong. Won't cross cut or rip that 2x.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an apartment technician and I use this to cut plywood and other small types of wood. It gets the job done. I have the extended battery on this and it last like 3 hours of continuous use. I have a regular blade in there and it has never kicked back.
I got this saw as a supplement to my corded saw and it has quickly become my go to. Originally I got this saw to cut transitions and trim the plywood edges of half pipes. Quickly however it has made its way into primary rotation in my tool kit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I am very pleased with the saw and it does everything I have asked of it. I have cut all dimensions of 2X lumber, plywood, etc. without any issues. I would recommend using at least 5AH batteries for consistent power and battery life.
This skill saw is the perfect go to for everyday jobs such as a framing or basic cuts. It’s lightweight, powerful and the batteries last quite long. I recommend using the 5 amp battery to prevent overheating and to add longevity.
