So good I let someone borrow it that weekend
il y a 4 ans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought it used it several time loved the ease of use the quick cut. Let my friend borrow it that weekend he loved it his brother saw it and borrowed it he is buying one. Don't get me wrong this is not a lumber jack saw but for any normal around the yard use it is more than qualified
Came through with flying colors after a windstorm knocked down and broke a bunch of trees on our lot. At one point due to a miscalculation the bar got stuck and freeing it broke the tension pin. Sent it back to Dewalt, within six weeks (as promised) they sent me a new saw. Amazing
The saw is fantastic, as long as it lasts. Easy to use and feels pretty safe. However after a few hours of use the oil pump mechanism fails. Seems like a persistent problem from reading other reviews. Returned this one to the store. If they ever fix this, I’ll pick up another one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this saw for about a year and use it for odd jobs, it does an excellent job. Power is very good and I've had no problems. I wouldn't use it for heavy timber, I don't think it's designed for that but for trimming and limbing as well as posts and such it's my go-to tool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent Chain Saw, cuts jobs in half. Easy to use. Ready to cut at all times. Quiet! I can usually cut up any tree before the next guy can get his gasoline powered chain saw started. Great for branches and all the clean up as well as the tree. Light weight, but powerful!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] disappointed! the plastic mounting of the bar has flex. the chain will move and where out the gear Fast agenst the side of the shaft and the washer a small ez fix would be to replace the mount with cast mount or a lip on the Gear to keep the chain from moving to the Edge
Straight out of the box, and the battery doesn't charge. The indicator light flashes for about 30 seconds, and then indicates full charge. Left it plugged in overnight, and still no charge, and the fuel gauge lights on the battery pack never come on. Worthless....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a woodworker this saw is perfect. All the power and none of the maintenance of a gas saw. I only use my saw a couple times a week and it was a pain to maintain and store my gas saw and accessories. And the power is perfect. I can cut large hardwood logs with ease
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to use camping and what a fantastic tool it is. I used it many times to cut done a tree and then cut it into firewood! What a pleasure it was (for the first time) to cut firewood. It is hard to imagine every going camp or cutting trees without this.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This my first battery powered chainsaw and so glad that I purchased this. Lightweight, powerful, no messing with fuel. Had to clear a bunch of small trees and was able to do that very quickly and safely. My wife even commented how quickly I had finished the job!
I have thousands of Dolloar in dewalt tools bought this for notching post demo etc
Works pretty well Except wen stored in my tool trailer it leaked all the bar chain oil all over my shelf not happy about it please Adress problem and send me a better model
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Debated buying and electric vs gas saw. Came across this one with the flax volt and I was sold. Awesome tool for the property. So nice to not have to deal with keeping the saw running. All the power you need and let off the trigger and it just goes quiet.
I have used this saw now for 2 months around my house to do some light trimming and cutting fire wood . It is very easy to use and maintain. Do a YOU-TUBE on this and you will see what it can do. It does just what I need it to do with no gas mix or mess.
I bought it, and it broke in 4 months after about 4 uses. It also steadily leaks oil while not in use. I now have it sitting over a garbage can in my shop when not in use. I have a lot of Dewalt products and have been happy with all of this but this one.
I HAVE 4 GAS SAWS BUT SENCE IGOT THE FLEXVOLT THEY HAVE BEEN RETIRED LIKE ME , I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY SAW CLEANING AFTER EACH TIME I CUT WITH IT HAD PROBLEM WITH FIRST SAW SO DEWALT SENT ME A REPLACEMENT NO PROBLEMS ITS AWORK HORSE AND I LOVE IT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this saw for my dad who is 92. Light enough for him to cut firewood. He couldn’t start his gas saw, so this was a perfect fit. Plenty of power to cut for a long time. Bought extra batteries so he could keep going until he gets tired out.
Who approved and tested this design? Fresh out of the box: 1) the charger won't charge the battery properly (or the battery indicator is N/S). Battery indicates low/1-bar. Place it in the charger, blinks only a couple of times ("Charging"), and then indicates full charge... yet battery still indicates low. Tried just leaving it in the charger for hours, but still the above. 2) Lock off lever switch mechanism is N/S. No matter what I try the only - *only* - way I can get it to run is to always hold back the hand guard (constant pressure). This involves holding the front handle with a few fingers, while my other fingers are stretching across to hold back the hand guard. This is not the intended operation according to the manual; the mechanism is clearly faulty. 3) The variable speed switch barely qualifies as variable speed. Practically, it is an on-off (e.g., full speed, or off). Horrible 'feel' and design. 4) Who knows what else is wrong, as I haven't even been able to test this saw. This design is hopeless; back to the store it goes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has more power and the battery life is better than I thought it would. Not just by a little bit either! I cut down two dead trees (so harder wood) and then cut them into fire would and still had over half battery. Very impressed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it Sep 11, 2019 and June 1, 2020 I depressed the trigger and "Click Click" That was all she wrote. Maybe went through 4 battery charges on it. The 3.0 battery size. I gave it a extra star because it worked ok while it worked.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never had my chainsaw for several months and I have used it extensively it cuts as good as my gas one and it’s so much easier to carry around I can carry two batteries with me and do a full days worth of cleanup around my cabin
I just used this saw to take down and cut up 3 trees in my backyard. It worked flawlessly and outperformed by buddy's gas saw. Cut through 14" limbs like a knife thru butter. It still had a charge in my battery when I was done.
I’ve cut about 2/3 of a cord of firewood so far, and I absolutely love it. Cut fast, light, and quiet. I wouldn’t consider it a replacement for a gas powered saw, but rather a quiet alternative in areas where noise is a concern
I own lots of dewalt tools and have always enjoyed their product. I like the saw but it has stained my garage floor with all the oil it leaks. I also find the chain falls off all the time. No lack in power just not well built.

Great for in tree cutting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The saw works well for tough positions. A lot easier than using a gas powered chainsaw. Its light but will rip through 12" logs quick. Make sure you've got a couple big batteries if you plan on using it for extended periods.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last year. I wanted a good chainsaw for a long time but didn't want the upkeep of yet another small engine. This chainsaw is perfect for me. It is light, easy to use, quiet, powerful and gets the job done.
Love the saw except I'm having problems with the bar oiler, does not seem to be putting out enough oil and its heating up causing all kinds of problems. Now on my third bar and chain and I don't even use it that much
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had it for a couple of years and it ROCKS!!! You wouldn't know it's not gas based on the power, but no smell, no mess and WAY quieter. You will want big batteries for decent runtime, but then you're golden. Love it!!
Disclosure: I am a dewalt fanboy. I have probably 15 tools and generally I love every one of them. This chainsaw is the exception. I have had it for over a year now and have the following to say, in order of disfunction:
1. The chain cover is flimsy and can’t be tightened, leading to a flimsy bar and constant chain derails. It needs to be made from or stiffened with steel.
2. The oil reservoir is too small, and empties before a single charge of the 9ah battery.
3. The oil reservoir lid is a twist/lock design and the plastic deforms causing it to leak.
4. The battery is a tight fit into the receptacle, and because you have to pull it up from the top and you can’t get your hands around it, I have sometimes had to help it out with a screwdriver.
5. This just happened today, and was the straw that compelled me to write this review: the chain brake no longer resets, so I can no longer use the saw without repair.
It is really too bad, because it has enough power and battery life to be useful. I have a 2 acre property and I use it for anything up to 12” in diameter.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this about two months ago at a tool show and cut a couple trees down about 10” in diameter then cut up for firewood. Battery last around 45 mins to an hour I’d guess as I like to take breaks in between.
The first time that I used a battery operated chainsaw was when on Heavy Urban Search and Rescue course for work, and was impressed. I own several Stihl chainsaws for woodlot management work and I was sceptical how functional this type of saw would be in the outdoors. Based on my initial exposure I decided to invest; and I have not looked back! I predominately use this saw for limbing felled trees, however I have also used it for hours at a time to section 12” - 14” tree trunks of birch, maple, ash, cedar, spruce and balsam fir. No more messing with gas and oil mixes. Increased respiratory safety because there are no exhaust fumes, and because the saw is so quiet hearing protection Is not an issue. I would transition completely to battery operated chainsaws if I could get an 18 blade version. Also, I use canola oil for the bar and chain which prevents hydrocarbon contamination in our designated protected water source areas. No problem getting the right chain tension and it’s easy to clean. The only cons are a lot of plastic and the blade could be more ridged. Love this saw!1
