Rectifieuse , 20V MAX, sans fil, Lithium-Ion, 4 1/2" à 5"

Bought this to use type 1 this cutting wheels for work, but it only comes with a type 27 (open-side) guard. Called DeWalt to get a type 1 guard. They gave me part #643772-00. Got this guard but it cannot be used on this tool because the guard uses a clamp-on fastener and the tool has a ratcheting release lever fastener. Called DeWalt again to see how to install this type 1 guard and was told to read the user's manual. Called a factory service center. The guy there researched the part and the tool and said there is no type 1 guard made for this tool. I returned the tool and now I am looking for a tool that will do what I need to do.

All these dudes here with complaints(?) about this Grinder are full of ..it ! I mean come on, hello? This is an Awesome CORDLESS Grinder! Ya got a Big Job in your Shop? So use one connected to 110!!! Like all DeWalt 20V tools, this one Rocks for outside Job Sites or when you don't have access to your Generator. In my case, I build Movie Sets, often out on remote Locations, so this is a 100% must-have Tool in my Kit. And NO... I am NOT paid for my Opinion. IF you are ever in a Sound Stage in LA and can watch the Art Dept at work, you'll see DeWalt tools all over the Set! No Brainer! 'Nuff said!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the key to this tool is to know its limits. This is not the old school corded 1,000,000 rpm grinder we all have in our box. This is a 20v cordless tool. Where it shines is with cutoff projects, quick sanding <15min, light grinding or wire wheel work, and similar. This isn’t the product to use to take an entire coat of paint off your car. So, know the role when you purchase this. The one downside I have found is the guard always seems to be in the way. Not sure how else to explain it other than, it’s always where I don’t want it to be. I would like to fit it into tighter areas but just can’t quite get it there at times. In short, it does what I need it to do. For everything else I have a 120v corded grinder.

I use my grinder for cutting cast iron pipes, unistrut, you name it and I have had little to no problems. I really enjoy the ergonomic feel and the hand guard. I had the xr grinder but I returned it and got this one just for the guard. Only thing is it will eat a 2ah battery in 30 minutes of use, which isn’t bad at all for a cordless machine that can cut through steel like butter but not ideal for a full work day. However if you get yourself a pair of 6ah batteries you’ll bet set to cut through a tank. Anyway great tool, Thanks Dewalt

I just purchased this grinder and when I tried to cut a piece of thin wall hollow tube it overheated my 2 batteries. Then, to add insult to injury, it took a long time for the batteries to cool off enough to try and charge them. Lost time = Lost business!! = lost income!!! Thanks DeWalt. No where in the manual does it mention anything about needing a certain battery to operate or how to avoid overheating batteries. Very ( extremely ) disappointed in my favourite “go to” tool maker.

Have done both light and heavy grinding (not a lot of heavy grinding due to its efficiency) but a lot of light work. Smaller tasks that dragging a cord out wouldn’t be worth your time. Not the most efficient model due to it not being brushless but, it a base model. Also likes to get a little warm after a while. Overall I’m pretty satisfied for what I paid for it.

It worked for its intended purpose perfectly but i find myself reaching for it for more and more uses. It has come in handy multiple times and has way tons more uses than originally thought. I've ground concrete down with this, i've cut metal, i've sanded wood even. Super useful tool to have around the house!

I bought this tool a few months ago to help modify the front bumper on my WK2 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. It has a nice light weight and is very easy to handle. Swapping wheels on it is super-easy with the supplied allen wrench and the locking button to keep the drive from spinning. I have no complaints really, except it seems a bit loud, even before actually grinding away at something.
