Ponceuse orbitale, 5", 3 A

We are a Carpentry shop and have bought 3 of these sanders over the last 1.5 years. We have not been able to get the correct replacement hook and loop pads. Every time we order a pad kit. The pad comes with 3 mounting holes. All of our sanders pads have 4 mounting holes! The pads wear out quickly and the replacements never come correct. Even when scanning the barcode on the sander itself, we still get a replacement pad with 3 mounting holes! We're looking for better options for sanders in our shop. Wouldn't recommend buying.

Bought this for a few wood projects and haven't looked back since. Its been durable, powerful and the hook & loop pad has lasted great! The dust collector also works fantastic. If I had to complain my only thing is it hums fairly loudly but that's from the powerful motor and fans it has. Typically, I used the square sanders of days past and this is at least 5X more efficient, if not more. I was recommended this from a fellow at the hardware store because of the efficiency and was skeptical... not anymore though! Also has worked great for body work, as I share a shop and my friend has been using it for some of his restoration work. I personally would recommend this over the battery operated ones. Its much lighter and more nimble. As silly as it sounds, this is one of my favorite Dewalt products I have used.

Received this model as a warranty replacement for model D26451K, which only lasted from May 2014 to Dec 2016. I had high hopes that this model would last much longer than the last one did, but I was wrong. This one crapped out in Aug 2018. Unfortunately, I had to purchase another one of this model because our local home improvement store does not have much of a variety. If I had other options I would not purchase this model.

I had received this as a Christmas gift this past year and it definitely worked better than my ryobi one I had in my tool box. The only issue I have is it is a single speed so vs the variable speed it’s not as good but still great for the value. I recently used this one a farmhouse table I made and I was impressed with the quality it provided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this corded sander to replace a cordless one where the on/off switch wasen't working properly. This Dewalt unit has a better attached dust collection unit and seems to do a better job at retaining the hook/loop sanding disc. I've used it several times now and am very satisified with my purchase.

I’m unable to find a connector to attach this sander to a shop vac not made my Dewalt. Description in other Dewalt online information states that universal quick connector does this but it definitely does not. DWV9000 inner dimension is 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 inches

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. The sandpaper does not stick to the sander. I have spent more time and money trying to find hook and loop 5" discs which do not stick. I am sanding a 8 yr old cedar dock that doesn't require heavy sanding.

The sander works great but it's not made to hook up to a shop vac like 90% of the rest do. Instead they expect you to buy an adapter for $28 just to hook to a 1" 1/4 hose. No thanks I'll buy another brand of sander then.
