Best Tool I Have Ever Purchased !!
il y a 4 ans
Another great Dewalt tool. During my ongoing 1 year tearing down of problems at my cottage I never would have imagined the value of this tool. This is one TOUGH tool. I wish I had documented the amount of hours we used this tool you would not believe it. We had to replace every floor joist at my cottage. Could only go so close to wall with the circular saw and saws all so we had to cut in close with the oscillating tool. Did the all of the perimeter of the cottage 24 X 32 and all inside walls. This tool worked endlessly using several 5 ah batteries. It would get very warm at times but NEVER failed on me. The only little issue I have is that some blades which are a little thicker are hard to get on and off
Unbelievable tool and the time it saved us is immeasurable Worth its weight in gold !!
This oscillating tool works great for jobs where you need one of the three speeds provided. If you pull on the trigger all the way, it's a very controlled tool. It works great for cutting drywall for electric boxes, undercutting door casings for floor installation, and for sanding. It's been a go-to tool on the jobsite for those tasks.
Why a three-star review? The variable speed trigger is frustrating to use. A slight increase in pressure causes a big jump in speed. For those jobs where precision matters, this has been a major disappointment (e.g. using the tool with a diamond blade to cut out grout). The tool would jump from the grout line as the speed unexpectedly increased, damaging surrounding tile. For these jobs, I'll stick with my corded oscillating tool that can be locked on at any speed desired.
Hello, appreciative customer Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on the DCS356B and I'm sorry to hear about the problem with the variable speed trigger.
This is not the kind of performance we expect from our products and we |would like to talk to you about this issue so we can help you resolve this to your satisfaction. Please get in touch with support at WECARE@sbdinc.com and reference ticket # so we have all information available for your review.

An Excellent Multi-tool From Dewalt
il y a 3 ans
This a must have tool for anyone doing remodeling work. This Dewalt Oscillating Multi-Tool cuts fast and very smooth. I'm constantly using this tool make cuts where you just can't fit a reciprocating saw. Build quality is good, the only weak point is the plastic lever you squeeze when swapping out blades. This hasn't been a problem yet, but it would be nice to see Dewalt use metal, or a tougher plastic, for that part. Overall would highly recommend this tool to anyone.
Every man should receive one of these at birth. (not meant to be exclusional)
I'm a DIY guy and a sailor and if you think things are hard to get to in a house, try a boat.
This thing is simply incredible - cuts everything, scrapes/chisels, at just about any angle in any place.
Like my other 20V experiences the battery runs seemingly forever and is well balanced in the hand.
What else will go in a 4" diameter hole and cut back towards you, yet produce clean cuts in wood, metal, pipe and also get into corners and sand trim etc...
Brillant concept and brilliant execution.
One thought, with the rather nice 5AH batteries (which last an eternity), the thing does get a bit long. If you're up inside cabinets and tight spaces, you might want to get one of the super slim batteries to keep for such an occasion.
Bought these to remove caulk because we couldn’t locate the typical product we used. The other unit cost 2-3x’s what the cost and are corded. I’ll never go back to those.
Using these cordless tools increased our productivity and made it much easier to move around. We didn’t have to wrestle cords, run a generator or move all that from spot to spot. All the power we need and with the batteries we already own there was no down time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought one of these when they first came out with a battery operated option. It finally stopped work about 2 months ago but, because of the versatility of this tool I already had a second one to replace it. Any time I start another remodeling job there are 4 tools that I grab first. First a 20 volt dewalt impact. Second the 60 volt cordless skillsaw. Third the 60 volf reciprocating saw and forth the oselating multi tool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a shop manager for a glass company. We currently have 5 of the Oscillating tools that we use every day to remove residential and commercial glass. We use to use a long knife and would labor cutting out old stubborn caulking and glue. We have times where we would have injuries due to working close to the glass. Not anymore!!! My workers are safer and jobs are getting done faster now that all my installers have one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a pretty awesome tool. I owned a Makita model XMT03Z oscillating tool and the blade change on the DeWalt is so much better than the Makita. The blade change is night and day and you do not have the potential of loosing any parts with the DeWalt like you do with the Makita. The DeWalt is extremely powerful as well. I would highly recommend the DeWalt oscillating tool over the Makita.
This tool works great for cutting baseboard and door frames when doing flooring jobs. It is also my go to for cutting electrical box holes in sheetrock, The grout removal attachment attached this tool saved days of work when replacing old dirty grout in my kitchen, The 3 speed adjustment help control the tool seamlessly and i would definitly recommend this tool to any professional or DIYer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An oscillating multi-tool is such a handy thing to have, especially this one now that it is cordless and has such an easy mechanism for changing blades. This is my go to tool for small simple sanding, cutting and scraping. I love that it uses the same battery as all of my other Dewalt 20v tools. Changing attachments is as easy as just squeezing the release. Very handy and convenient.
I love this multi-tool. My only complaint is the high vibration rate all the way through the handle. If you are planning to use it for an extended period of time, get ready for a numb hand. However, this tool cuts everything. Pipes, PVC, various wood species, drywall, screws, nails, etc. I haven't found a situation when I've used where it didn't accomplish what was needed.
I have had this tool for about 2 years. Used it a lot. My only complaint is that the heads that hold the bits to cut with break off the pins that hold the blades in place. Can't seem to find replacements. I have 2 tools with same problem. The tool holds up good , except for the heads. I use it for work. If you were a casual user. Might be good. Not for the heavy user like me.
I'm an electrician. This tool never leaves my tool bag. Whether I'm cutting in outlet boxes, or trying to find a path to run wire, this is my go-to tool for the job. Doesn't matter if it's drywall, cabinets, or whatever the job throws my way. With the proper blade and a good battery, this tool can do it all.
It's so good in fact, that I had one stolen out of my work truck.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you don't already have one of these, stop what your are doing and get one. This is by far the most used tool I have ever owned and use it on pretty much every job/project I do. The oscillating multi-tool in general is just an all around problem solver. Add in the fact that this is cordless 20v with a light and this is up there with the hammer as greatest tool ever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use the Dewalt Oscillating Multi-Tool for trimming door jams, drywall repairs, to trim flooring, and even for cutting PVC piping in plumbing repairs. The Multi Tool is a powerful all purpose tool; and once you own one, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it. It lasts forever; and the 20 volt batteries hold a charge for hours. You'll be glad to own one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first oscillating tool and have owned for less than a month and love it so far.
Pros: Variable speed based on application, compatible with my other Dewalt batteries, easy blade change and light.
Cons: A lot of vibration which makes me dizzy sometimes. Maybe I should wear thicker gloves.
Time will tell on durability but seems well built.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this multi tool after hearing how handy they are to have around. Boy, they weren’t lying! Have used it on tons of projects to make cuts I never would have been able to make with another saw, at least not with the ease that this thing does it! Best part is knowing that there will lots of other surprise uses for it to discover in the coming years!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a cabinet business and the DeWalt oscillating saw is my go to saw whenever I am on the job. Whether it is cutting out electrical boxes in the back of the cabinet or trimming the molding for a super tight fit, this is the saw. Its light weight small size gets it into really tight spaces. It will also makes nice clean cuts. I love this saw.

The Most Useful And Versitile Tool Yet!
il y a 4 ans
As both a Carpenter and a furniture maker, I realize the limitless abilities this tool has to offer. It allows you to make some very tricky cuts that would (in my opinion) be impossible or very challenging or time consuming. The brushless motor and 20v max battery is just another reason why these tools are the number one go too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the older model that did not have the 3 speed function. I had issues with the blade release wearing out as well as the vibration was off the charts. this new model the vibration is almost nothing when u begin cutting or sanding. The handle does not get scorching hot like the older model which is my favorite upgrade.
I bought this blind and am not disappointed. The vibration is more than other brands through the handle, and it doesn't seem to cut as fast as some brands, however, it keeps going no matter what I throw at it. The trigger is great and can lock on. The change mechanism beats all other brands out the that I've tried.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a corded tool like the this one when they first came out with them and used it all the time. But when I replaced it with the Dewalt Cordless 3 speed it was like a whole new world of uses opened up. You can get into more places do more things and this tool works better and is way easier to change blades.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly i have been a avid dewalt user my entire career and when i first got the oscillating tool wasnt sure how much i would use it but honestly now is my most used tool literally gets used every day it takes a beating constantly amd still runs like the day i got it i recommend for any crew out there
I bought it for DIY projects in my house. It's perfect in performance and quality. Sometimes I think it's more than what I need. I'm happy with it, by the way. I tried that out with 2ah battery but I'm thinking to get more powerful battery just in order to enhance my tool's performance.
I have had this tool for over a year and it is one of my favorite tools. Use it all the time to cut PVC that already has wires in it and have never damaged a wire. Also great for trimming anything plastic like gate roller covers that are dragging the gate making annoying noise.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own several other brands of this type of tool and even though this might not be the fastest and most powerful, I still grab it first because of the great ergonomics and the variable speed trigger control. The variable speed trigger is the most important feature to me but I also like the light and the quick blade changes. The trigger can be locked into full speed with a small switch above it which can easily be reached with one hand while in use and can be locked on by pushing it in from either side or in other words, either direction, kind of like changing directions on a drill but it only has the function of locking the trigger on. I didn’t think I’d like this tool as much as I do after reading comparisons but in use, I can’t discern any difference between it and my other oscillating tools that have better recorded performance. I also find that the 3 speed controls are good for slower speeds and being able to slowly increase OPM gives outstanding control for cutting things like plastics or aluminum with slower speeds.
I just bought this for a project that I did this past week. I needed to do a to. Of undercutting and it worked super well. With the quick change feature and multi speed options, it really performed great. Thank you for such a great tool design.
I have had this tool for over a year now and this tool is AMAZING!
When increasing my tool inventory my dad said (aside from a drill) the oscillating tool is the tool he uses the most. And for me, that is true too.
THE GOOD:
This has a light on the top so you can really see what you are doing, which is nice.
Cuts is various angles (if blade is installed that way).
Really gets into the hard to reach places that a saw cannot get to.
Had a deal that you get a free battery with it and that is great. Some deals at the time had the standard economical battery, others had a slightly higher end battery that had a charge indicator, which is nice.
THE BAD:
Not much.
I would say, I did buy the blade kit and sander attachments. When you use this thing so much you really each up the blades. I wish they would have included more blades and the sander attachment with the tool itself as they are nice to have with it.
All in all, Dewalt makes good, quality products and this is just that.
You will not go wrong by buying it. This is the MVP tool.
Finally picked up my own and I was very impressed! Easily outworked alot of corded models I have used in the past. This saw rips threw wood! I love the tool free blade change, makes changing a blade sooo easy! Keep up the good work Dewalt!
