One thing missing -
il y a 7 ans
I have been using this saw fro a few months now. I love it. Fence is always dead on accurate and so fast to set up its amazing how well thought out everything is. JUST ONE THING MISSING. Electronic power switching keeps you from plugging in a saw that already has the power on. This means you can not lock it in the on position to power it from a power strip that also powers the dust collection. I use a shop vac that just sits under the saw but its a bit annoying to have to feel around for the switch on the vac. I like the electronic power switch, its a no-brainer safety thing, but why not include an aux plug that is powered by the same switch so my vac starts when I power the saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this table saw last summer and it is not just the best job-site table saw I have ever used....it is the best, most well thought out tool of any kind that I have ever owned. It is astonishing to me that other brands have not copied this fence design. It is SOOOOO easy and sooooo accurate. I have had cheaper table saws, and I have seen more expensive saws (such as the Bosch model within the same price range (about $100 more, actually). But how it is that this type of fence is not an industry standard is baffling to me. I have, within the past year switched over to all DEWALT power tools.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this saw for several months and the more I use it the more I am impressed and glad I purchased it. A lot of thought was put into this table saw the saw has a place to tuck away all the accessories that came with it and the safety features are spot on. I am amazed at the accuracy of the cut. On most other saws that I have owned it was measure and measure again, with this saw I sent it lock it and cut it and measures out perfectly. The table extensions and swing over fence makes cutting larger boards a breeze. I also like the way it folds up for easy storage and portability. I would definitely recommend this Dewalt table saw to anyone and everyone looking to purchase a table saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this saw a year ago, and am a hobbyist with a garage workshop. It is really easy to roll into place and set it up for my projects. Out of the box the saw only needed minor adjustments to bring things into alignment, and has stayed in alignment since then. The onboard storage for attachments is great, and I like the handiness of the push stick.
I really love the fence system, you don't have to worry about it being out of square front to back. I had to fight with my old Craftsman saw that this replaced. I don't think you will be disappointed purchasing this saw.
Motor works like a champ; haven't had any slowdowns whatsoever. If buying this for rough construction projects where being off by 1/128th of an inch isn't a big deal, this is the saw for you.
For people obsessed with 'perfect' cuts, however, it could use some tuning. Both my blade and fence came pretty poorly aligned, and required some extensive setup to get to that 1/128th of an inch precision. Aligning the blade is a pain, almost impossible to make incremental adjustments, and the fence does have noticeable shift even when locked down. This is a jobsite saw though, so those are minor complaints overall.
All in all though, I'm happy with the purchase. For your first table saw, this would be a great choice.
I'm mainly an advanced DIY'er, and use this mostly for non-Jobsite projects like dimensioning wood for furniture, cabinetry and replacing subflooring. However, this packs such a punch and is so portable, that when we had our roof replaced just recently -- the roofers' nail guns shredded the plywood under our roof and they needed to cut new sheets and replace the damage, but they didn't have a good saw with them -- so I just wheeled this thing up from the basement and ripped all the plywood for them and we got the job done quicker than them running out for equipment.
The saw and stand are a definite upgrade from the Craftsman that I had. The set up was fairly easy. The manual is not terrific even following the pictures did not help. Thank goodness I had watched some of the reviews and assemblies on YouTube.
I am very pleased with the fit and finish of the saw and the accessories. The fence out of the box was spot on. The miter gauge was accurate when I added the tape on the side to prevent the wooble that comes standard. There is a place to store most of the fittings. A place for a spare blade would have been a nice add-on.
Checked out a display and was not happy with the fence. It had been mishandled. Decided to purchase anyway and found the fence to be terrific. Once adjusted, the geared fence track ensures squareness to the blade without having to measure each end. Very nice features and accessories. The rolling stand is very rugged, takes 10 seconds to set up or break down and make it easy to move around. This is not a light assembly, larger and heavier than expected, which is great in my application. This is not the same saw as the 10" smaller bench top model. Much larger table.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this due to my small basement shop and lack of space for a cabinet saw. It's ability to quickly fold up and stand against the wall when not in use is a huge benefit. The fence is easy to set and, once calibrated, gives repeatable accurate cuts. It remains accurate even after the saw has been moved around the shop. I like this particular model due to the increased rip capacity and the ability to accept a dado stack. The blade guard and riving knife can be switched out very quickly and easily, which greatly reduces the chances of anyone making dangerous cuts without either of them in place. I also appreciate the storage of those items and the push stick being right on the saw. Can't recommend this table saw enough!
I am a professional contractor and this review is long overdue. The DeWalt DWE7491 10" table saw is the best I have used in my 25+ years in the construction industry. It's fence system is accurate and easy to use, it has plenty of power and is super easy to transport and store. I use, and review a fair amount of tools and the DWE7491 10" table saw is the first tool that I have not one negative thing to say about. I mean I usually have at least something a manufacturer could do better. Not with this saw, it's perfect out of the box. This is the second one I have purchased this year, I was so impressed with the one I purchased for my business, that I bought one for my personal use. I highly recommend this tool.
Great job DeWalt
This was the third DEWALT 10" Jobsite Table Saw that I purchased as the first two both had fails with the arbor nut within 30 days of purchase. This one had a new failure mode. The Rail Lock Lever suddenly had no tension in the lever and the rip fence was stuck in position. I tried fiddling with the Rail Lock Adjustment per the instructions but could not resolve the issue. This was the third saw with a quality fail. Very disappointed in DEWALT lack of quality manufacturing at this point. Returned this saw as well and will be shopping for a new brand.
No, I really didn’t and I wouldn’t have bought it for myself. You see back in 1952, my mother gave my father a Craftsman table saw for use in our new house. Over the years, that saw became mine, and was perfectly adequate. However, my wife never trusted it with its exposed blade. So for Christmas in 2016, my wife surprised me with this table saw, a gift I never considered. However, it didn’t take me long to realize just how superior this DeWalt saw was. Now, every time I use it, I tell my wonderful wife how much I love that table saw. Thanks, honey!
First off I just have to compliment the build quality of this machine. The blade came perfectly square right out of the box! That's a huge plus for me. My favorite feature of this saw is the rack and pinion sliding fence. It makes it effortless in keeping the fence perfectlysquare, literally effortless because you only have to roll the dial to the left and right to move it. This really takes the guess work out of it. This saw is plenty powerfull, I've had no issues cutting anything wood that I've put through this beast. Overall it's a 10/10 for me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw over a year ago and use it very regularly in my small woodworking shop. I love the features of this saw, the fence is very accurate and easy to move with the precision wheel and locks very tight with the locking lever. The rip capacity is very good for a compact saw like this. The ability to use a dado blade was also important to me which it does with ease. Finally the stand that comes with this saw is a must have, very sturdy and stores very compact which is important in a small work area. Overall this saw is a great product!
I just set up the jobsite table was with the rolling stand. I was a bit annoyed by the very small print in the assembly instructions and had to magnify the diagrams to see how to put it together. Table top is a bit larger than my 20 year old saw, and the fence is well designed. I was pleased to find this saw has a riving knife which my old saw didn't have. I"ll have to get used to the legs on the stand as they cover a larger area when extended, but make the saw really stable. It sits a bit higher off the ground than my old saw which I like. I also like the way the throat plate attaches to the table top, so I don't have to mess around with little hex key settings to get it level. Well designed, solid construction will last a very long time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used the saw for a flooring project and worked great. I then used it to build a table top and noticed something was off. I went back to the table saw and checked it for square to the table top and this is where the problem lies. The actual aluminum fence is twisted. To double check, I took the fence apart and laid just the aluminum extrusion piece on a flat surface and this confirmed that it was twisted and therefore impossible to make accurate cuts. If you want a saw for anything more than rough construction, do not buy this one.
I just purchased this saw and I love the features and quality. I wish the assembly instructions where more discriptive as it took me a while to get the stand together.
The only problem I have is the storage of the accessories. I think a more descriptive instruction would be great. A web site with a close up video showing the assembly and storage of accessories would be helpful. Until I can figure out where things go I'll be hanging them on my garage wall. Maybe after I find the storage places I'll change my rating to five stars.
As a dabbler in woodworking I needed a replacement for my 60 yr old Craftsman. This fits the bill perfectly. Stores neatly as my dabble shop is in my basement. I agree with the other reviewers on the miter and storing the accessories but for me this is just a minor thing to overcome, adding the locations to the manual would be a great help. Easily assembled and put to use within 2 hours (including breaks). Adapting my Shop Vac to the dust collecting ports was small hassle but easily overcome. Great saw and well worth the cost.
This thing is a money maker, plain and simple. I was tired of making long rips with my skillsaw, so finally broke down and bought this and have ZERO regrets. The fence is always accurate, the saw is super easy to use, the kill switch is nice and big, and the rip capacity is awesome for such a compact size. The stand is a must as well. It folds up super easy, and I can slide it in the back of my rig no problem. I love DeWalt saws because their value is awesome! I've used multiple Bosch saws at work, and this just feels better!
As a jobsite table saw this does the job just fine, but for a more permanent solution it will fall a bit short. The blade is not perfectly perpendicular to the table, the left rail is .760 while the right rail is .750, making it hard to make jigs for it. The side notches make it difficult to attach extension wings (home made at least). Other than that the table runs fine, there is also a known issue when lowering the blade from the highest point, it gets stuck around 3/4 down. I'd say it's a bit overpriced for what it does.
I’ve owned this saw for more than two years now (my model is actually the 7499, essentially the same saw with a different power switch). It is a terrific saw. Easy to operate, easy to move, easy to clean, easy to store, and full of excellent safety and operating features. A large table with a ton of rip capacity. Perfectly flat table, perfectly aligned blade, slot, and fence. Great dust port.
I would recommend investing in an after-market, high-quality miter gauge, and the best blades you can buy for your intended use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with this saw and its features.
Storage for all accessories, the rolling stand is easy to set up and very stable.
I have yet to have it bog down on any cutting job.
Very accurate, I really like the knob fence adjustment and locking mechanism.
Very easy to change the riving knife and blade guard.
The miter gauge is spot on.
The only reasons I didn't give it a perfect score is that the fence has a very slight bow and you can't lock the blade height (which is only an issue if cutting dados.)
I was in the market for a compact table saw 2 years ago because I have very little storage. My dad has an older model of this saw and we never had an issue with it. The saw did cost more than others, but it was worth the extra money. The main selling point for me was the "dual cam" style adjustment for the fence that keeps both sides moving evenly. Most saws I looked at didn't adjust "squarely." Right out of the box I to make one minor adjustment to the measuring adjustment, but the rest was right on. My only complaint/request is that the saw come with or offer an optional soft start for the motor. Quite a few miter saws have it now, and I would really like that option to eliminate the inrush current of the motor. I just feel it could be easier on components of the saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this saw for about a year, and I am very pleased with its performance! The dual option rip capacity with easy adjustment and locking works very well. It seems to have plenty of cutting power. I cut mostly oak, but I have also ripped treated lawn timbers. I am particularly impressed with the dust collection system when I am ripping lumber. With a vacuum connected, nothing hits the floor. I have a smaller shop, so the fold-up option with the roller stand for compact storage is really appreciated.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw was great right out of the box. Packed very well, set up wasn't too bad, set up instructions are not all that good, the miter gauge(only by name) is near to worthless and the saw blade that comes with it is cuts wood and that's about all that I can say about that too. Miter slots on the table are also on the sloppy side.
The saw is powerful, the rip fence is awesome, and the on board storage is very nice. Love it so far and most of the bugs that I found are pretty easy to overcome. Very good saw!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For a jobsite saw, this one takes the cake, it sets up and tears down quick. The adjustments are easy. The location of features is intuitive. It is stable.
That all said, the fence is the best. No item in my shop has saved me more time than this fence. Once I got it dialed in I don’t have to measure at all for basic framing cuts. I can use it and trust it’s within spec.
Do I think this saw should be used for a professional cabinet maker? No. But for what it is designed to do, it’s a champion.
I have owned this saw for little over a year now, it truly is an awesome saw not to mention a work horse. my buddy and I do anything from handyman work, trim carpentry, Framing just to name a few with this saw, It has yet to let us down !
Never for get anything bc its all always attached or integrated into the saw.
Love the bigger tires to get some the truck into work area !
Solid motor - I have ran a Dado Stack on this saw too !
Fence has Rack and pinion for quick accurate adjustments
While in the market for a table saw I came across this table saw with rolling stand. It checked off all of the most important aspects I was looking for in regards to a quality saw including at least had a 32” rip capacity, 10” blade, easy to adjust angle, precise accuracy, and that it would be easy to transport. Both the saw and stand feel as though they’re designed to last a lifetime! 10 out of 10 would recommend to family, friends and any contractor in need of a reliable and durable saw.
First, the precision is there as you'd expect. The folding stand with wheels is designed to allow easy and quick setup and storage. It's not a huge chore to get the saw set up for just a couple cuts. The on-board-storage of components is also very convenient and solidly designed. I've been a design engineer for over 30 years and I know what goes into making a well designed product. DeWalt obviously has some excellent design engineers and they really nailed it with this saw and stand combo.
Great features,I especially like the folding stand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about six months ago, I do not do much carpenter work so I debated whether or not to spend the money for this saw, it was the best money I have ever spent on a power tool. The saw is versatile and very accurate and the folding stand is super. This saw saved me a lot of time and aggravation. I have used or tried to use other brand cheaper table saws and there is no comparison to this saw, especially in getting straight accurate cuts. Bottom line, it was worth every cent.
