Great Snips!
il y a 3 ans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are a great pair of snips. They are solid and well built. My pair has little to no play. They functioned smoothly with one handed operation. I had to do some siding repair on my detached garage. These snips cut through the vinyl siding with ease. Considering these are 12" snips, cutting through the vinyl was pretty effortless on my part. They cut clean and were easy to manipulate. For fun, I cut some left over coil stock I had just to see how these did with metal. All I can say is cutting through the coil stock was pretty easy as well. Crescent is putting out some great tools and this pair of snip is no exception.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before you jump to conclusions I think it is a terrible tool I ask you read it he entire thing. I am extremely hard on tools. And I’m probably using it on material that is too thick for it to cut through. That being said it feels really good in the hands, the handle is very open to allow easy use with gloves, and the construction of the sheets is fairly substantial. If I used it for what it was intended for I’m sure it would perform significantly better. I cut metal banding on packaging when I don’t have anything on hand. The blade has already seen a significant amount of wear and now has a plainly visible bur. I’ve had to tighten the nut a few times so far but all and all I believe if used for the intended purpose, it would preform excellently.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have another pair of unbranded snips that I’ve had for years. At first glance, these snips look similar, but there are several differences that make these a much higher quality tool. The two halves of the snip fit together snuggly which makes the cutting action super smooth. The blades are sharp and seem vary hard. Handles on a snips are important and these are reasonably comfortable. They are as good or better than others I have used. Overall, I’d recommend this tool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic product, service, and shipment. These Tin Snips are simply superb in quality. The cutting hinge works smoothly and easily tears through siding, roofing material, small nails, carpets, canvas and nylon padding/material. So far they have stayed sharp and the quality seems like they will last a many years. We need snips that do not have the very heavy bend at the tip so that they can get into small spaces to make cuts. These snips are best used for straight cuts.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These tin snips are very strong, solid, and durable. However, they are a tad tight to open and close.
I used some white lithium grease on the joint to loosen them up, and that seemed to do the trick.
The handles are nice and wide for my big hands, and feel comfortable enough for prolonged use.
I only had one small project with some gutter repair that needed these in the short time I've had them, but they worked flawlessly. Would definitely recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The snips perform well on 20 gauge galvanized mild steel sheet. Straight line cutting and mild curves are easily acheived with these metal snips. The large handles accommodate gloved hands and the foece to cut is pretty low. I did have an issue with the finish of the snips as I had to file off excess swarf on one handle before use. After removal of the sharp metal edge, they have performed flawlessly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for snips when I got these. Let me first say they are heavy duty. They are much more robust than aviation style snips. Having said that for my usage they were great. Because of the length of the handles you can get great leverage to allow good cutting power. They are also very sharp. They are comfortable to use and I feel they will be very durable as they are solid constructed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will admit I don’t cut tons of thin metal in the shop. When I have it’s been with very old worn out snips so I have a permanent bad feeling about getting a good result. I will say this, these 12” snips have the throne from now on. A solid investment here will last me a lifetime and no more mangled cuts. Plenty of leverage and nice clean cuts from these. Really good addition to my DIY shop.
