Almost perfect. Get rid of subscription fees

Easy to install. No wiring needs to be done unlike previous brand I owned. Did need to reinstall on second day due to error. Have had it a couple weeks and hasn’t happened again, hope it does not. The required alarm is ridiculously loud and long when closing. Bought for use in car. Subscription fee for in car use was almost a dealbreaker and is unfortunate. Works most of the time on auto in car where it opens and closes automatically. Twice it has failed to close so I had to manually. Nice being able to see door status from anywhere.

Great accessory and phone app

I put this up for my double and single garage doors and the phone app works great! Also, the setting up of schedules is GREAT! Sometimes we would forget to close the door at night then see it in the morning. Now, I set an hourly nightly schedule to close the doors. I have them set on the hour from 8pm to 1am. So no matter what time we come home (prior to 1am) the door will close if we forget! Would've been a 5 star but the integration with the Apple Watch needs some work. Since I have an Apple Watch w/cell, I don't take my phone on runs. Every once in while (too often) it will just say searching for devices and never connect. So, I uninstall and reinstall on my watch and it works the next time I need it BUT annoying when I need it and it just searches.

So far so good!

I just installed today and it was very easy, as others mentioned. I mounted the unit to the ceiling since that is where my garage door was plugged into. I did use a smaller drill bit than in the instructions since I was tapping into a stud (and not using wall anchors. keep that in mind).. App works great and I just gave access to my Apple Watch. It seems to refresh pretty but i was at home on Wifi (will have to test over cellular). Looking forward to pairing with my Tesla.. whenever that comes. Main reason I bought it.

Love the function….when it works

Love my smart opener. Sometimes, it has WiFi connection and doesn’t respond to an in app trigger. It never times out and the opener records the trigger and continues to try. This results in my garage opening at 2am after being pushed at 1030pm, not working and then a manual open and closed occurring. If the unit can tell the difference between a manual open (push button) and an app triggered open, the software should be adjusted in two ways. One- if a trigger happens in the app and the garage doesn’t respond within a time (5 minutes max), a kill trigger should happen in the unit so the command prompt stops. Or Two- if a trigger happens in the app and the garage doesn’t respond, but the unit records the same trigger manually, kill the command prompt from the app.

Great device but missing one critical feature

I use this product myself and I install it professionally for my clients. I like virtually everything about it from the schedule for closing to the ease of installation to the wide variety of garage door openers it works with. My one and only complaint is there is no Alexa skill to allow you to open or close the door with your voice. I understand some safety concerns but I can unlock and lock my Ford F-150 and even start the engine with my voice so seemingly could use the same process to open it and close a garage door.

What a ripoff!

I bought a WiFi run opener from this company a couple of years ago. Never worked. Have a better WiFi signal so I thought I’d try again. I bought an opener system from this company a couple of years ago. It never worked. They kept telling me I must need a stronger WiFi signal. I upgraded my WiFi and now have a very strong signal, so I thought I would try it again. Now it says I need to buy another adapter. I wouldn’t buy something else from the company that sold me something that was useless in the first place.

Great for home security

Remarkably easy to set up. Easy to sync to my Tesla as well. I no longer have to worry about if I remembered to close the garage door. This product is especially nice for those of us that travel. The app is very user-friendly, and very intuitive. The whole experience has been great. I didn't find it necessary to use a drill like the video explains. If you use some strong double stick tape to the back of the hub that is more than sufficient to post your hub on the wall or the ceiling. its extremely light weight.

Nice idea but terrible wifi issues!

I was able to install it and get it working initially. I did have to disable the 5ghz band to get it to connect. But the wifi level has been poor ever since it was installed and goes offline occasionally. I have to climb a ladder and re-pair it. I don't understand it's weak wifi signal though. It's only about 30 feet from the router with one wall in between. I have a ring doorbell outside the garage, even farther from the router and outside an exterior wall, but it has a strong 2.4ghz wifi signal. So I have to buy a wifi extender to make up for the MyQ issues? My wifi sprinkler controller, wifi dehumidifier, 2 ring doorbells, and several other 2.4ghz devices, some ever farther away, have no problem. I'm beginning to think the genie controller may be better.

Cry me a river

If you own a particular brand (Lanier) of garage door opener - this product will not work as advertised. That fact is not clearly stated sufficiently (in my opinion) in marketing materials, resulting in a completely useless purchase. The incompatibility (as I understand it) arises out of a tiff between legal departments at the two companies, cry me a river. Just be upfront and prominently say in the marketing materials the facts of the matter rather than inconvenience the purchaser. It is petty and stupid.

Disappointed

Although it is very easy to install and use via my cell phone (when not driving), I am very disappointed to find out that I can’t use it through CarPlay. This is not what I signed up for! If I just wanted to have a different remote, I would have purchase one - now I need to remove my eyes from the road if I wanted to use my cell phone which is not allowed nor secure for my surroundings. This was a waist of money and I do not recommend this product until the company sorts out their business model.

Works like it says!

So happy I purchased this. I was nervous at 1st, I thought it wouldn't work for mine, it wouldn't open or close from anywhere but it works perfectly as advertised. I can open and close it from work and I also added the Garage Camera and it's really impressive. My garage door opener is a 2008 chamberlain with a purple learn button. Really easy to setup. The app walks you thru the process. If you scan the qr code in the instructions it will take you to a couple videos you can watch beforehand too.

Terrible

Setting up, pairing and even connecting to my wifi was simple. It even operated through my phone several times. The next day when I left my house the app was showing my garage door was open even though it was shut. Without a camera there’s no way to really know but I had watched it go down when I left. The door sensor repeatedly drops a connection. Fast forward about 2 mos, my garage door remote battery dies and I finally use my app for the first time since the initial test. Nothing! It wouldn’t open, I had to run inside the house and use the bottom on the wall. I tried the app right afterward and it connected. Frustrating is putting it mildly. Despite the terrible reviews I bought it anyway and I’m now one of the many who know first hand what an inconsistent and useless product this is.

This is a must have

I encourage everyone to get this ASAP. Wish I would have known about this sooner. I am now able to remotely open and close my garage. I am able to check the status of my garage anywhere in the world with a peace of mind. And the bonus part is, it all works with the ring app as well if you already have ring cameras. Install was pretty simple and connectivity was very easy. Highly recommend, if you’ve ever wondered is your garage still opened or closed while you are away.

Temperamental

We’ve had MyQ for about two years. About a year ago one door began opening on its own. We had to ‘lock’ it every time we closed it. We worked with customer support and read hours of articles and thought we resolved it. About two days ago it started again. I was standing in the house & heard the door open thinking my husband came home early except he did not. Yesterday I came home to the door opened again with nobody home & then it opened again while I was in the house.

myQ upgrades

The opener and myQ all worked really well, until yesterday. At that time I noticed myQ didn't function. I realized I switched internet providers so I attempted the switch over. Still not working. I contacted Chamberlain and they asked if I had a 5G router. I do and was told myQ doesn't support 5G. 5G has been around for several years and apparently Chamberlain hasn't upgraded the myQ to handle a 5G router. Overall a good opener with belopw average software.Wake Up!

My garage door open/close icons disappeared

bought and installed the Garage Hub and also the Video Keypad. Both worked flawlessly for 2-3 weeks. My wife and I accessed it on our phones with no problem, opening/closing the garage via phone. The the Garage Door Open/Close icons within the app disappeared. There was no way to open or close the garage via the phone anymore. Have found nothing helpful thus far. Have tried to re-connect the hub, deleted and reloaded the app, no idea what to do now.

Not bad, but have some issues.

My phone is Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. Product itself in not too bad, but app and hardware needs to be adjusted and updated. Problem 1: Warning "low battery" for the garage door position sensor in the app shows just an orange line with several dots with the biggest icon size option (after update). Problem 2: "Low battery" warning comes when battery is far away from low level (tested with battery tester, not multimeter). My older MyQ device worked with "low battery" warning for about 3 years. Installed new, everything still the same. Working more than a year with "low battery" battery so far, tester shows good condition. Problem 3: some times MyQ app hangs on non stop search and I have to end task the app and start it over or ask me to put my credentials 100 times (doesn't accept it), just end task and start is helpful in this process also.

90% OF THE TIME DOSN'T WORK 100% OF THE TIME

Difficult to keep connected to the internet OR just will not connect when needed. Having this for over a year I have been locked out of the house at least 2 times waiting for my wife to get home. Constantly will not connect. Kind of stupid of me to keep the darn thing. Yes, I have tried to upgrade, reset, replace battery and there is a great connection to the home wifi. I would not purchase again. BTW does not connect to Amazon Alexa.

The best of all I have tried

I have tried other types of garage door openers that connect to my iPhone. MyQ is the easiest. The best install, no wires, simple instruction with an excellent video. I initially bought one for Garage door 1 and quickly ordered another for the other garage. Its interaction with my car is also very simple. Nice to just touch the car smart screen and garage door opens immediately. Price was reasonable. Delivery was quick.

Great and well priced product.

Great product that fitted in seamlessly with my existing opener. Had the older one in a prior house and loved it. Gave me some expectations that led me to try and get hold of customer service to check why my white LED does not work (assume because the door opener flashes the main lights). That proved impossible.. which is bad as my issue could have been much more important to the install or function of the product.

Really need native HomeKit integration.

Next version (or Firmware update) of MYQ-G0401-ESMC MUST have HomeKit integration. The MyQ works great in its own App, but we need to be able to say “hey Siri open garage door). I understand that there is an”add-on” hub to do this but hundreds of reviews say it’s a huge pain to install it to work with MYQ-G0401-ESMC. We need next version of MYQ-G0401-ESMC to integrate with HomeKit easily and natively. Thank you.

Continue to have issues with controller offline

I have used myq for many years. I have had the black controller and now the white one. Each of these devices have had repeated issues going offline. I can't tell you how many times I have had to reset and rejoin them to our network. I have a wifi extender located in my garage specifically for these controllers. I'm not sure what to do. If our Tesla did not need this to connect, I'd do away with them both.

Openers With Yellow Learn/Reset Button

Package arrived with very noticeable label stating "Not for use with openers that have a yellow learn/reset button" like mine. This is not clearly mentioned, if mentioned at all, on the website when I purchased. Spoke with tech support and they said it should work but no guarantees. Went ahead and installed the unit and, so far, it has worked good. Easy install and simple straight forward connectivity.

unpair

the device unpairs from the internet and the garage door opener often. When will the app be available to other vehicles like the Nissan Rogue and GMC why limit the access to few select manufacturers. Nice add on but real time notification isn't really great and if there are two homeowners they both should be able to have the same access I want to purchase for my mom but I have to make sure I can use it

They have access to view and control your myQ devices, view history logs, set up and receive notifications, create or modify schedules, and can invite other guests to the account. DO NOT BUY!

I have a garage that required me to buy an additional piece for it to work with the app. The installation was difficult. Less then a week of use and the device no longer was available and I had to reinstall. This is time consuming and frustrating. IT DOES NOT WORK RIGHT consistently. I have used another system in a Jeep that was easy to set up and had no problems. This myQ system has a lot of issues!

I found myself in a position that requires my parking tithe driveway rather than inside the garage. With my car in the drive I could not leave a door operator in the car or program the home link from my car from a security standpoint. I decided to get the myQ device and give it a try. This works very well from my IPhone satisfying the need for a door opener and security of the home. Highly recommended.

Superb product

I bought this last week. Installed it in minutes. Works perfectly. I open the app and open the garage door from anywhere. If someone needs to come in the home. Or if I want to check if I left my door open. I can open and close the door from anywhere. It lets me know when it is has been opened or closed. I can share control with friends and family. It doesn’t work with Alexa if that’s your thing.

Good WHEN it works

Have a myQ hub and door sensor. Have had since 2020. The myQ worked well for a year+. Now it only register when the door OPENS (via notification on my phone). It takes a good hour+ for the hub to notify (via the app) that the door has closed. And just this morning, i now have to go in and re-pair the hub which has NOT been a good experience. I have tried several times and have NO success.

Great to use on an older Chamberlain garage door o

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife side of the garage had a 9 year old Chamberlain garage door opener. With this module that I purchased instead of a whole new garage door opener saved me over $200. So far we've had it 2 years and no problems And the app displays both garage doors open or closed when needed. I also liked it automatically the garage door's clothes at 8 o'clock at night if we inadvertently left them open

Old ladies have short memories

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to getting MyQ install them my garage door every time I would leave for a short or long trip I would constantly worry that I had forgotten to close the garage door. That is no longer a problem. If that worry pops up now I just look on my smart phone or my pad and I can see usually that the door is closed and if it’s not, I can close it immediately.. I am so thankful for this app.
