Must Have

This thing is an absolute must-have accessory for any charcoal grill. Gone are the days of tasting lighter fluid in your meat and veggies, its not required here! The price is reasonable considering the money you will save on lighter fluid. In the instructions, it says to use the starter cubes or news paper. The cubes are nice since they don't throw ash but newspaper works as well. Unfortunately I don't buy newspaper so here's a tip: keep your empty charcoal bags, they make great starter kindling too.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Allumage rapide!

Perfection itself

I have used this 2-3 times per week for years. I wore one out through heavy use and am on a second one. Works great. Two pieces of paper (ideally newspaper, but so rare these days so I often use ad inserts) in the bottom and charcoal up to and you are ready to grill in 15 minutes. This is the invention of the decade. Back when I was a kid, dad used to soak charcoal with loads of lighter fluid. I shudder to think of what we consumed. But here that is completely avoided.

My favorite charcoal starter!

I've never found a better way to start a charcoal fire! I like this so much that I bought a friend one for her grill, and she loves it. Never fails to light the charcoal. And without the smell, chemicals, or fire risk of expensive fluid starters. A few crumpled paper sheets cost nothing. And, if you have the 22" Weber kettle, filling the starter to the top provides what I think is the perfect amount for most cooking work. And it has lasted for 20 years.

Rapidfire Chimney

Having struggled for years to light the Webber, only to find out hours later the beads didn’t ignite I took the advice of a friend and brought the Chimney. Well what a difference, first time was a charm and couldn’t believe the struggles I faced prior to the Chimney and a relief of knowing all the beads were igniting as they should. Perfect heat and solid quality construction, I didn’t have to worry about the unit falling apart being so hot.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works a little too good

Bought this recently and underestimated how well it would work compared to previous chimney starters. Got the coals going with a lighter cube. Went inside to prep my food. I’m used to it taking several minutes for a full chimney to be ready and I don’t know what I did differently this time but when I came back out the charcoal was so hot it had melted the rubber on the handle. Keep an eye on this thing and don’t turn your back on it

Indispensable Accessory!

This accessory us indispensable. Growing up I disliked charcoal grills due to the copious amounts of lighter fluid or impregnated briquettes people used. I researched extensively and learned the legitimate grill masters use charcoal chimneys to light their charcoal quickly and efficiently with no lighter fluid taste imparted to the food! In my opinion, this accessory is a must have in addition to a Weber charcoal grill.

Works great if you have newspaper

I love these things! They are simple to use and work great to get the coals going quickly, just crumple a few sheets of paper, set them a blaze and come back in a short while to grilling ready charcoal. My only complaint (not against Weber) I am finding it harder and harder to get a newspaper these days. Our local has gone electronic only now and the larger "regional" papers are no longer delivering to our town.

Yes, I recommend this product.
