Great bbq
We bought this bbq after trying another brand to use for camping. The other model we tried was larger and significantly heavier than the Webber Q1200. The slightly smaller grill size and lighter overall weight was far more appropriate for our purposes. The bbq cooks well across the entire cooking surface with no major hot spots.
As mentioned somewhere before, the right hand hold is very difficult to hang onto. This is because the mechanism where the propane bottle attaches is mounted to high and interferes with the hand hold.
Overall we are enjoying the bbq and are very pleased with it. Only time will tell how it holds up in the long term.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Stopped working after minimal use
This grill stopped working after minimal use. I called customer service who advised me it was under warranty and needed a valve/regulator This was sent to me. There were six pages of instructions about how to replace this part, very complicated and requiring considerable disassembly of the grill. Six different tools were required for this job. I have only one of the required six tools. I called back to customer service and was told there really wasn’t anything they could do. The woman hung up on me because it was “ the end of [her] shift and the supervisor was walking out the door.” Don’t expect much from this grill or customer service.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Weber Q 1200 is a great grill for a small family.
The Weber grill specifically the Q 1200 is extremely portable. It can be taken anywhere whether you have a car truck. I just cooked a whole chicken in a weber Q 1200 and it turned out great. I love the fact that it can be put on a picnic table or you can use the stand which I purchased, and wheel it around. I make sure I take care of my grill and clean it each and every time after I cook, some people think that’s a little extreme but as a product that I know will last I will help ensure that it’s safe and clean and will last if I follow that process. Also you can purchase an adapter for the weber Q 1200 so you can use a larger tank of gas.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Never buy the Go-Anywhere grill. They suck.
I bought the Q because the Go Anywhere Weber grill was constantly blowing out. Took up to 40 - 45 minutes to cook two steaks because I had to constantly stand over this sorry excuse of a grill and re-light it. And the ignitor will never last more than one season, those are garbage too. But the Q hasn't blown out yet and has always ignited. Strange how one Weber product is such a disaster and the next level up is so much better quality-wise. Maybe because it's three to four times more expensive? Hmm.... Well, thanks for the Q I guess. Saving on my blood pressure, anger levels and timing the steaks with the potatoes since it doesn't blow out.

New Weber customer
Grill cooks evenly and the temp so far has been able to be adjusted pretty good although I haven't had the need to cook at lower temps so I don't know how low the heat goes with the burner on low and the lid closed. I purchased the Cart/Stand with this and glad I did but the cart/stand is a little wobbly especially when brushing the grate after use. My real interest will be in how long this lasts. I take care of my grills and if I don't have to replace any parts for 5+ years, I will be really impressed! I have only had 1 other grill that lasted and it was a Coleman. I ponied up the extra $$ for this Weber so I expect this to last for years!

Handy Grill for Trips and Smaller BBQ Meals
4 years ago
The Grill does a great job barbequing meat & vegetables and is a perfect size for preparing meals for our family of four. It is also easy to bring along on car camping trips or weekend getaways.
The only complaint we have is with the stand that we bought with the grill. When we need to move the grill and use the extending handle on the stand to lift the grill/stand and roll it on the wheels, the whole stand tends to try to flip over. It is easier to just take the Grill off the stand and move the two separately.
If you have a table or raised area you plan to dedicate to placing the grill on while using it, I would recommend not buying the stand.

Turtle Green Grill
I bought a 'turtle green' Q1200 this summer to replace a Q1000 I have been using since 2005-it was time for the little Q1000 to retire like me!
Our new Q1200 is working flawlessly so far. The new Q1200 has several improvements over our retired, senior Q1000: it has the handy folding shelves on each side and the electronic igniter works easily and quickly to start the grill. The small, compact size is just perfect for the wife and I for our frequent grilling efforts.
Plus, both my wife and I love the looks of our little green turtle looking grill.
If our new Q1200 lasts as long as our previous Weber, then we will be very, very happy.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Cooks like a Weber, four stars for a design flaw.
While it cooks like a Weber should, it gets four stars for a design flaw. It's supposed to be a portable grill but - you can barely grab right side handle because the regulator where the gas bottle screws in is in the way. Serious design flaw as the grill is NOT light. I'm not sure how this made it past prototype. It's a great handle and the left side is solid and comfortable to hold but there is no way to get a good solid grip on the right side. We bought it as a coach grill and it will serve that purpose well as there isn't a need to move it around once set up. It cooks well, we've done burgers and chicken on it and look forward to years of use.
Yes, I recommend this product.
