Confused by application rate

I bought this product, and applied it to my yard. The rate listed on the bag is 2 3/4 for the broadcast spreader. However the rate on the this website is the 3 and 3/4. I did my 4000 sqf yard, and found I had a lot left over, so I had to do more passes, and likely got an uneven application. Even if this product works great, the conflicting application rates are confusing, which is why I am giving it 3 stars. Which setting is correct for this product?

The Worst Product That I Ever Used

I had a very green front yard till last summer (2020) and we were proud of that within our neighborhood. Then I used this product (Scotts Fall Lawn Food) according to the direction that I read from the package last fall. And this spring (2021) after melting the snow I faced with entire dead grass. Now I lost thousands of dollars that I spent on our beautiful grass and I even don't know what to do with it. So embarrassing.

This product did exactly what it was support to do

I got this two week ago a 17.5 Kg bag and used the hole thing on a 40'x40" front lawn. Needless to say 75% of the lawn is now dead. I have been watering it twice a day to try and flush out the salt. Is there any product I can use to help save the lawn? Will it even come back? please help

Not for my climate!

Why no phosphorus? That should help with root strength. In fall, we don’t really need much nitrogen. Potassium level is ok. We’re cold up here in Alberta! Need more to withstand cold winter, the thawing/freezing cycles, and snow mould in the spring.

Customer Care
We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Fall Lawn Food and appreciate your feedback. Phosphorus is most important to grass when it is initially germinating. When seeds are germinating phosphorus is used for root development. Our research has shown a significant difference between using a fertilizer that has no phosphorus at the time of seeding versus one with phosphorus. Once the grass is established the need for phosphorus great declines. We have removed phosphorus from all of our lawn fertilizers except our Starter Food products. We left phosphorus in The Starter Food products due to the importance of phosphorus when establishing a new lawn. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Terrible, after 2 weeks lawn has yellow patches

I applied the product about 2 weeks ago and my lawn is quickly getting worse with yellow patches and streaks. I read and followed the instructions on the bag but the results are terrible, I am so disappointed.

Awesome Fall Fertilizer from Scott’s

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Just put the Scott’s fertilizer on my lawn. What a great product with one small bag did the whole yard. Set the spreader to instructions on the bag did a great job. No burn spots from the fertilizer

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fall Lawn Food And It Works

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My experience has been a good one. I noticed the grass really started to grow thicker after a week or so after applying. Could tell the difference between my lawn and the neighbors who didn't use

Yes, I recommend this product.
