Decent but limited magnets work good with it
a year ago
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The instructions call for 3 coats of the magnetic primer, but i found it needed more. 3 coats can hold thin magnets but wont hold paper to it, 6 coats on my other wall and a decently strong magnet was able to hold much more. Prior to using it needs to be thoroughly mixed in order to disperse the magnetic particles and mixing between each coat and during use is optimal. Sometimes clumps may happen, but lightly sanding helps eliminate that. Overall, i would opt for a peel and stick magentic sheet instead of the magnetic paint. Picture of first attempt is 3 coats magnet and 2 coats chalkboard. Didnt get a picture of the other attempt with 6 coats and 2 normal top coat.

Messy

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received this product for my honest opinion. Firstly, I would like to mention that it came damaged and most of the primer had leaked. I kept the box on my white counter top not realizing how much of the product had spilt and it stained my counter.
Now coming to the product itself, I did my research before using it and mixed it with a big wooden spoon and applied multiple coats to create a magnetic chalkboard wall but it did not hold up any magnets. And even if it did, it would come sliding down. Wouldn’t advise purchasing it.

Actually magnetic!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We were extremely excited to try this product and were left amazed by how versatile it is. You can use this item on a wide range of surfaces and create magnetic options all over your house! What was most impressive was the magnetic power, this primer works great and is true to the product purpose. We received this as a gift from Influenster and would recommend it to a friend and consider purchasing again if we run out.

I’m m going to pass this to a friend with kids

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) After reading countless reviews about this product I am not going to ruin a wall testing this. It needs many layers, has a very strong scent. From the reviews I read and watched it wasn’t a strong enough magnetic force. I will pass this along to someone who can use it for something, but I couldn’t find a space that was appropriate. Might be fun for a kids playroom

Not the easiest to use.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) So this product is probably best suited to a more intermediate DIY-er. It's not the easiest product to apply. You have to make sure that you shake it up or stir it really really well. Like stir for a good 10 minutes before you use. You want to apply at the very least 3 coats. But make sure that the coats aren't overly thick. Super thin coats, stirring in between dips as well. Like really stir it up. If it's not strong enough magnetically, add another thin coat. The can is only supposed to cover 16 square feet so it's not meant to go really far. So make sure you are using enough coats and stirring it super well. If you can do that, you'll get a decent result. It is quite smelly, but it's paint so I mean that's to be expected. I like that you can use it under something like chalk board paint. Just remember, be patient. Stir, stir stir, and super thin even coats.
Side note: if your wall is not straight, the magnets will slide. Womp womp.

Needs several layers for its full magnetic effect
a year ago
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The magnetic wall primer defintely takes at least 3 coats to have a proper magnetic effect. Dry time is average, I used it on my kid’s bedroom door so they can stick their drawings and they are pretty happy about it. It terms of odor it dissipates with time, just make sure you are in a well ventilated area just like regular paint.

Stinky and it doesn’t work
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Was excited to try this out but was extremely let down. There were a lot of steps to the process, which I followed thoroughly, and no magnets stick to the paint. It was EXTREMELY foul smelling (we had to open all the windows and doors in our house for hours.) The drying time was relatively quick, but disappointed in the results.

Very easy to use and works wonderfully
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The primer is very easy to use. I used the paint on a wooden photo frame and then layered it with a gloss black paint as it is easy to cover gray base. I gifted it to my niece with a couple of flower shaped magnets on it . She is loving it and switches the magnets on it to give a new look every day.
