No ants seen in our house this year.

Last year we had a lot of ants both inside and outside of our house. It was literally driving me crazy. I did not know what to do. So in May of this year, I purchased Ortho Home Defense Max and sprayed inside and outside of the house. The product really works. Just to be on the safe side, I have resprayed the outside perimeter of my house again after very heavy rainfalls. I have not seen one ant in my house this season (It is July as I write this review. Last year at this point in time, the ants were everywhere). The product does not kill bugs on contact. It takes a bit of time. For this reason, I rate it four stars rather than five. But if you use the product as directed, it does work.

Not sure why there is so many 1 star reviews, it works well, and obviously it won't work instantaneously. Poison can't legally be sold in a high or strong of a concentration to kill immediately, also who would want something that powerful to be used indoors.
It lasts a good length of time on carpet and tiles, a solid 2 to 4 months with no change in strength, maybe some will wash off faster depending where its used. You can see how physically slow insects move if you see them after you spray and they're not already dead.
I can see how a battery pump breaking would be annoying, so just buy the manual one. The formula/product works great and it's nice being able to use the same outdoor perimeter bottle inside.

Not like it use to be

First, the only one I could get was with the battery operated sprayer. Used it once, tried to use it the following week, had power but sprayer wouldn’t work at all. Second, I’ve been using this for years, it doesn’t seem to kill anything anymore. Before when I would spray along the bottom of the walls inside my basement, the next couple of weeks we would find dead bugs a foot from the wall. This time, nothing. Even sprayed some ants outside, they walked right through it and kept on going.

Please ensure that the connector at the end of the hose is firmly attached to the cap by "clicking" it into place. If your bottle has a spout, please ensure that the spout is strait up. If your bottle has a twist cap, please ensure that the knob is turned to the "ON" position. It is possible that some product may have crystallized in the sprayer tip preventing the product from spraying. To combat this, please soak the sprayer tip only in warm soapy water to dislodge any residue. You may need to re-prime the sprayer and siphon tube after unclogging the tip.

This is a must have for any home owner

Rented a cottage and it was infested with spiders. We left the next day but discovered a bunch in our home after we returned/ unpacked (my nightmare). We sprayed this around the baseboards and over the next few weeks I found so many dead dock spiders and centipedes by the edges where we sprayed. This spray saved us! We will be using every season.

We have an Elm tree and there are a a ton of Elm seed bugs all over the outside of the patio and some get inside my house. I bought this product and sprayed it all around the patio door and around the entrance door in the evening and the next morning there were dead Elm seed bugs all over. This product works great and would recommend it.

Had some spiders used this product now I'm infeste

Infested after using we live on the Niagara river and had some spiders and bought this jug used it all up within a week now I'm infested like they loved the stuff and multiplied with it can spray directly on spiders they still live on dousent kill ants ither I'd like my money back time's two since the bugs dubbed with use of this crud

Disappointed. Doesn't seem to do much.

I started to see cockroaches about a month ago, so I bought this and sprayed very carefully and thoroughly both inside and outside the house. However, I still keep finding cockroaches, and now other bugs like Centipedes. I've seen them crawl in and out of the areas I sprayed, so they don't seem to dislike it much.

I Purchased two 4L containers to spray all around the exterior of my house. I don’t want in both of these containers did not work even when I replaced the batteries I had to dump it into a garden sprayer and use it that way. Totally a waste of money because I would imagine the sprayer wand adds a lot to the cost
