Great utility knife!!
The knife has been great. The blade stays sharp for a decent amount of time. And being able to adjust the length of the blade is the best part. It has a great feel and balance in your hand. The only downside for me, and this is very minor, is that the blade is hard to snap on its own by just pressing it against something. I always have to use a pair of pliers to snap it.
ProsAlways have a sharp blade ready, Attractive, Durable, Easy To Clean

A great multipurpose knife!

This knife is great. I do construction work for a living and have used this knife for just about everything. Scoring drywall, using the full blade for cutting thick fiberglass insulation, using as a screwdriver to take off switch covers and using as a pry bar for opening cans of paint are just some of the uses. The only problem is I don't have one for the shop yet!!

Best knife in the game
I've owned several of these and not because they've broke but because I've shown others in the electrical feild how awesome these are for stripping cable from 1000 Kamil down to #12AWG. The blade side for scoring the insulation and the tail which I believe is intended for opening paint cans for wedging in and stripping the Insulation off without breaking a blade!

Love buying quality tools!!

So far I have used the knife on 2 " insulation board, Love being able to cut clean threw with one pass, also great for Batt insulation. Used it for drywall a bit being able to score, snap, cut back paper with the longer blade. Like the auto blade lock for sure quick and easy! Which I could store a couple different blades in the knife for different needs!
Great knife with prying tool; black blade is sharp!

Everything I expect an OLFA to be. I started out with an OLFA years ago, and still preferred the click wheel. While the slide mechanism on the OLFA is well built and has a clicking feedback sound, I like the precise adjustment of the click wheel, with the blade position secured from any accidental adjustment while in use. OLFA knife lasts forever.

It's worth getting a few.

This right-handed blade is nice, I have other OLFA products and don't have any complaints. The LA-X is a fair value and I like bright colors for my blades and tape measures. It's lightweight, comfortable and fits well in my hand (blade position). The blade is hard, it will cut into some tough material. The single body construction allows for a secure grasp and improved blade control. I don't like using the multi-purpose pick as a screwdriver. But, I do like it for tucking material in corners, scoring films so that I can crease the material on a cut line and as a detailing scraper. The tool is fine the way it is. But if I could offer a couple of suggestions. The inside surfaces are flat and parallel with the blade. It would have been nice if they manufactured it to standard US dimension 1/16, 1/8, 1/4. That way I could use it as a standalone marking tool. The comfort would have increase if the thumb rested on a flared section instead of flat.
ProsAuto Lock (Quick), Balance (Good across fingertips), Blade tip change (Quick), Bright color (easy to find), Comfortable, Hard blade material, Multi-Purpose Pick (Scoring), Multi-Purpose Pick (Scraping), Multi-Purpose Pick (Tucking), Safer to disposal of short, used sections.
ConsNo on-tool storage for additional blades

Olfa blades are legit
I have used my Olaf blade for everything from making cuts in thin sheet metal to shaving wood stripes for veneer everything that I've tried I've succeeded with using this utility blade. The design and comfortability of the blade is the best I've used. The integrated screwdriver/pry bar is a feature I've used quite a bit with no troubles.

I will definitely be purchasing more OLFA products!

I was a bit skeptical at first thinking that this was just another ordinary box cutter but boy was I wrong. The build quality of the OLFA LA-X is superb from the outside construction all the way down to the blade. The ergonomics and the anti-slip cushion grip of tool feels great in the hand and the precision of the blade is razor sharp.

Great knife

I use this at work opening boxes all day. It is good quality. The blade that came with it seems to stay sharp for a long time. I like the part on the back i can use for prying staples out of boxes. The only thing I do not like is that it doesn't have a pocket clip and that is why i normally just use a normal utility knife.

I am really impressed with this utility knife.

I am really impressed with this knife. I like that the dull tip of the blade is removable by snapping it off. The knife seems well built and sturdy and will last for a long time. I also like the pry tip on the back of the knife to use as a screw driver or a tool to pry with. I use it to open my paint cans all the time.

Excellent Knife, High Quality!

Awesome knife! The knife itself is quality, and the blades are the sharpest I've ever used. I really like the metal prying tab as well, came in handy more than I'd anticipated. I've been using the knife for hours each day processing inbound freight and breaking down boxes. It's held up well and the blade stays sharp.

First time I used this was to remove a tie knot dog toy caught in the mower deck. First I grabbed my old utility knife and struggled to cut it off. Then used the OLFA and it sliced through it no problem. I've used it to cut house wrap, foam board, insulation and many other items. Still going strong on the first tip.

Favorite knife

I've been carrying this model daily for over a year now and it's by far the best work knife for me that I've found anywhere. I'm a warehouse retail stocker and I use it frequently for various tasks from rough cutting corrugated box board to detail trimming and display setups. It's one light, strong durable tool.

Great Knife
This knife is great. It has a good quality feel to it unlike most breakable blade utility knives. The auto lock feature is great. The knife is extremely sharp, I recently used it to trim some rubber all weather floor mats to fit my car. It had no problem at all cutting clean and accurately thru the thick rubber.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product, it's my go-to in my shop. Stays sharp forever and when it's dull just break the blade and start fresh. The blade is very durable and can hold up to all the tasks I put it through. I love having the pry bar on the side, I don't have to reach for another tool. Great product, Just buy it already

First use was for removing a section of composite backing on my entertainment center. Not an easy task but the blade handled it like a boss. Only complaint was the locking system didn't seem to work well. As I was on the pull stroke the blade woulkd extend out farther than needed. Otherwise, it's a beast.

One of the best tools in my box!

I have always enjoyed using the Olfa products. This knife is very versitile. I use the blunted metal end for prying open paint cans, as a slotted screw driver, or mini pry bar. The black blades are extremely sharp and I’ve used them on almost every type of substrate. I highly recommend this product!

I used it for years now I can't use another brand it simply talks for itself better quality, better resistance to dust, sand, rust and better grip. The metal end helps alot to separate materials, open metal covers and lift finishing products basically a quick draw screwdriver. Give it a try.

I work as a technical representative for an automotive parts manufacturer. This is a great tool to have. I have deleted several tools from my tool bag and replaced them with this knife. It is very easy to use as a screw driver, pry tool, and as a knife that has multiple breakaway blades.

Better Than Expected

I had doubts about this knife until I had one in my hands. It looks flimsy and light but is actually very well built. I like the steel tab also. It is handy for opening paint cans. And the blade is razor sharp and so far holds an edge well. I haven't had to snap a new blade as of yet.

The Olfa 18mm I've been using is just great! Super easy to use with gloved hands and I haven't had to worry about running out and buying a new blade yet, thanks to the snap off design. It's super sharp out of the box and helped with several projects I've been doing around the house.

This blade setup works great for daily general cutting, opening packages, and breaking down cardboard. The biggest drawback is where to store it. If you drop it in your pocket, it falls to the bottom where it has to be fished out later. A pocket clip would be the finishing touch.

I’ve been buying these knives for about 6 years now. And I still really like this knife with its quick lock and the piece of metal on the back of it comes in really handy quite often. I believe I am still using the first knife I bought about 6 years ago. Really good knife!

I've had one of these for many years now and I have not been kind to it at all. I've done so many things with it that I'm sure it's not meant to do and it still functions as good as the day I bought it. This is truly a case of getting more than you paid for.
