Great 18mm knife
I bought this knife a couple months ago because i needed a tough knife and since its made out of die cast aluminum its TOUGH! at first i was hesitant about buying it because ive been so accustomed to the olfa 25mm but the knife is pretty heavy and feels great. 5/5 would recommend!

Nice tool

I received this tool as a gift. It has even more of a sturdy feel than normal Olaf’s but you do pay for that in weight. With that being said it is a go to for long periods of work with a knife due to the comfort of the handle.

Will it cut?
Yes it cuts. I've had other olfa knives that are not on the same level. I find the yellow handle knives often fall out of my pouch but this one stays put when I need it to. Easy to break the blades and feels great in my hand.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Finetune your cutting depth. (MXP-L 2019)
Tactilely pleasing and one-handed operation, this utility knife is an extension of your hand that can cut through so many things. OLFA even paid attention to simple design aesthetics with hexagonal shapes and complementary 60-deg angles hidden through the design. The MXP-AL weighs about 4.25 oz., is center balanced and locks into two positions for each segment (except for the first one.) The auto-lock is easy to use, audible and solid for both extension and retraction. When nesting the blade for storage, a dimple prevents the blade from backing out of the stainless-steel guide. It takes a deliberate action to release/change the blade. If needed, you can extend the blade up to 3.25" which is much further than the alternative. Also, the hole in the back of the handle is good for hanging or as a tie-off when working at elevation. The beauty of the OLFA brand utility knifes is that there are numerous types of blades that you can purchase with this handle. The specialty blades that fit this utility knife offer application benefits that just aren't available with trapezoidal blades. If you're applying film to glass, use a silver blade; If you're cutting rigid foam insulation, use the enhanced coated speed blade; If you're cutting batt insulation, use the solid insulation blade; If you're cutting carpet, use the snap-off hook blades; etc. Snap-off blades let you do more than a trapezoidal shape. These are not the flimsy ones you've avoided for years; they are a Contractor Tough line. Also, blade disposal is much easier because the break off sections are about 1/5 the size. I always wrap my spent blades to avoid someone accidentally cutting themselves when handling the construction debris. OLFA makes a disposal container that safely disposes of the sharp bits quickly.
