Air admittance valve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been renovating my bathroom and built a closet to install a compact washer dryer. I needed it to vent out in order to meet zoneing codes, however I did not have the ability to vent it diredtly out of the house nor was I able to tap into the existing vent line. This is where this Sure-Vent comes in. It attaches directly to the elimination line to allow air in and smooth water flow out without gurgleing, and it does not allow the fumes of the elimination line in the house, and does this by a single way valve. This is a great product, and it saved me a ton of time and money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For some time, I occasionally noticed a stinky odor under our sink that couldn't traced to a leak or spill. Then when replacing the faucet, I noticed a small device nestled up high behind the sink bowls on top of a pipe attached to the drain. When I checked it out further, I realized I had what it called an air admittance valve. It lets air into your drain system whenever there's a vacuum created when a bunch of water flows through, like when you dump out your dishwashing pan. It had failed, and was allowing sewer odors to seep past. This "Sure-vent" product was the fix for this, and was easy to install. It has a threaded end, just the like defective one I had, and you just apply some Teflon tape and screw it in; no glue or primer needed! The odor is gone now and I didn't have to call a plumber.

Sometimes a standard roof vent throughout a home is not feasible and these work great for that. My husband gives these a huge thumbs up!

It's an easy install, and it made a huge difference after doing dishes, and unplugging the sink to allow it to drain. I would highly recommend this product if you have a slow draining sink, I wish I would have bought one of these a long time ago.
