SHOCKWAVE RED HELIX Titanium Drill Bit Set - 23/Pkg

Have used Milwaukee tools and Accessories for years and have been satisfied with their performance so expectations were high with the shockwave drill bits. I started to use the drill bits for a barn I was building pre drilled into some wood and in less than five minutes the bit snapped grabbed another not five minutes later snapped again. Later when installing the metal roofing and pre-drilling again the same sad story but worse. Unfortunately I had purchased two kits so I was able to witness every snap of every bit I used. If this is the state of Milwaukee tools I won’t be purchasing anything with them ever again. On a side note I also used the Milwaukee 1/4” magnetic nut driver to remove some metal siding and within 1/2 hour it was stripped out...

Needed to drill some steel for a project for my daughter 14th Birthday. I work sixty hours a week don’t have much free time. So as I’m bout to use the bit it falls to floor and shattered into pieces!!!! Couldn’t believe it. Tried next one that snapped 40 seconds in!!! The third didn’t even last two minutes!!! Very disappointed with Milwaukee on this one!!!! There tools are top of the line but there bits sure aren’t very sad and so was my daughter her birthday was ruined.

Each drill bit is good for a hole or 2, and then they are dull or break off in your project. I needed to drill 12 total 1/4" holes in some grade 8 washers. The 1/4" bit was dull after 4 holes and then I was able to drill the other 8 by stepping up slowly from 1/8", dulling all of those in the process, with 2 actually crumbling apart in the steel at the very tip of the bit. 720 RPM (about 1/2 recommended speed) with oil. Threw the rest of the set in the trash.

Brand new set. Put the 13/64th in the drill (M18 Milwaukee drill that I love) and started drilling the first hole in soft steel. Didn't finish the hole before the drill bit snapped right out of the base hex base. Took a second bit to finish. Total of 4 holes and 2 bits. Reading thru the other reviews this seems to be a common failure. I don't expect these to last. Time for a redesign and/or better materials Milwaukee!

I was using this kit to drill holes for Rivets in H14 soft aluminum for my hot rod. I’m about 20 holes, I had 4, yes FOUR, bits snap as I drilled pilot and finish holes. These are not safe for any kind of metal work. H14 is very soft and malleable and it snapped off a 15/64, two 1/4”, and a 5/16” bits in 0.080 H18 aluminum bar stock. These weren’t cheap and I’m disappointed they didn’t hold up to such workable material.

I am a long time user of Milwaukee power and hand tools but was upset at the poor performance of these drill bits. I was drilling pilot holes for hex head screws in 18-gauge metal roofing panels. The bits cut cleanly but less than ten holes with the 7/64 drill bit it snapped at the shank where the twist section of the drill starts. I thought their may have been a flaw in that particular bit, but the same thing happened with the second 7/64 bit in the kit. I then switched to the 3/32 bit and less than twenty holes later that bit snapped at the same location on the bit. I found an old set of Craftsman drill bit in my truck and used them to finish the job. I would not recommend these bits as they snap at the shank where the twist starts. I had to move the wooden purlin twice because the bit broke off and a second hole in the metal roof panel can cause leaking. I regret not reading the reviews on Red Helix drill bits.

I am really disappointed .... I use my drill bit kit for one of the first times and the bit breaks so it no longer fits on my drill. I do not drill into very solid things so I do not understand why your product which is supposed to be of superior quality is not better than mastercraft ... I have several Milwaukee products and this time I am totally disappointed

I bought this product to easily drill out a bolt that cracked and snapped off tried to start with one of tue smaller bits it never made a mark was very dull. I tried a few more bits and they also did not perform like my previous set that I had for several years and put through several years of hard work. Very disappointed in the product this time
