I would buy this product again - Reliable !!!
I own a large number (20+) of Milwaukee tools and the chargers supplied, or that I purchased, have never failed or let me down. I have read all of the negative feedback posted and have to think that many of the people complaining aren't as smart as the battery. If you buy 3 chargers and they're all bad it's time to look at something other than the charger itself. Thank you Milwaukee for the fantastic and reliable product line.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Batteries do not fit in charger
I was excited to get the combo set of impact driver and drill after hearing so many good this about the M18 products. Do not believe the hype. The drill and impact appear to be ok but the charger is crap. The batteries do not fit properly and it registers as a faulty battery. I have got it work once luck when the battery seated correctly. ONCE. Never after that. I will be returning this product tomorrow.

Don't buy this charger. Failed after 2 months.
This charger came with a M18 compact brushless 1/4 in. impact driver with 2Ah battery. I have used this charger about twice a week for the past two months. The last time I used it, it charged my M12 battery, but eventually the light was off on the charger. Tried a new outlet, tried different batteries both M12 & M18, still doesn't work. There is no fuse to check accessible to the consumer without taking it apart.

Works as advertised, however gets very warm
a year ago
Works great, it charges batteries sequentially and is fast enough so that by the time one of your batteries is dead the other is charged in a manufacturing setting workflow. We have mostly m12 tools, however in the stations that we have both m12 and m18 we have one or two of these. When charging lots of batteries one after the other after coming back from a job the charger and batteries get very warm however.

Bad quality on charger!
Unfortunately, I'm having a similar problem to what many others are having with this charger. I got this charger and two batteries as a Christmas present and after only a few months, I'm having problems where the charger intermittently doesn't register full battery with green light. I have tried multiple batteries and same problem. Both batteries are fairly new so I strongly believe it's the charger!

New batteries will NOT charge!!
I was very excited when I received my new combo drill and driver set. But upon unboxing, I'm experiencing a HUGE issue with the batteries/charger! The two new batteries will not charge! I have tried to push the batteries into the charger port as much as possible but only get flashing red and green lights. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed with the quality and experience.

We have 2 of these chargers on our site. Both of them are about 2 years old and have quit working. We have old 14.4v and chargers from other brands that are much older and still going. Milwaukee should make an updated version of this and issue free replacement for these. I love my Milwaukee tools, but the low quality of these chargers will make me consider other brands.

This unit when working properly is very efficient. Unfortunately if it is used to charge a few batteries consecutively it overheats and does not work anymore. I have gone through two of these chargers in two years. The M18 Bluetooth stereo and charger only charge the M18 but has not failed in 5 years that I have had it. What exactly is a 5yr limited warranty good for?

Problem with charger
Redlithium XC5.0/CP2.0 charger starter kit purchased May 2020. After the 2nd or 3rd time using this charger (January 2020) the solid green light came on while attempting to charge 5.0 battery, which was drained, and would not charge. Tried charging 2.0 battery and same thing happened. Love the drill but hope this isn't an ongoing problem with chargers.

Weak link
This model came with an M18 brushless combo kit. Used it maybe 4 times before it quit. Never had this happen before to a charger of other brands. Now I have to wait for the local service centre to order another while my drills sit dead. Unfortunate to read bad reviews going back over 5 years yet this model is still being sold. Very disappointed.

Disappointing
I bought this as a gift quite a few years ago and decided against it. It was a combo kit with a pack out. It sat unopened in a temperature-controlled environment. Recently I decided to use it. Wouldn't you know it, batteries are bad, charger is bad and who knows if the power tools that come with it work or not because I have no way to test them!

Great tools-poor chargers
As the other reviews indicate, the chargers don't meet up to the reputation of the tools. I have 2 failed chargers, one with a 2014 manufacture date and the other a 2017 date. I may have to get an aftermarket as one post mentioned. It is sad because I have a very large selection of Milwaukee M18 tools and the weak link is the charging system.

The charger with my drill/driver combo was defective right out of the box. I bought a second one to go with the replacement I got under warranty, and now one of them has quit working after only about 3 months. That's 2 out of 3 bad. Hey Milwaukee, please fix this. It should be embarrasing. The tools are great, the Chargers are sad.

Fix for flashing red/green lights is in the box!
Due to the believably bad connection between a brand new M18 Red Lithium XC5.0 battery and an equally brand new Milwaukee M12 - M18 charger I was having visions of returns and hassles before I could use my 16ga. finish nailer again. But, after coming here and reading some reviews I realized that the issue was just sloppy engineering. Sitting on my desk beside charger were the multi-language instructions for the battery. I picked them up, folded them 1 more time, stuck the battery in charger, tipped it forward to make proper connection and stuffed the folded instructions underneath. The second light just came on as I'm typing this so it appears to work. Seems it took the boys in packing and shipping to solve the issue of the testers being out the day this unit was approved for sale to the general public. That's what you call essential workers. I would give it a forth star but this design making it to my door shows a failure by too many people to deserve it.

Got this for Christmas as I now have many m12 and m18 tools. The 3rd use I tried to plug in a m12 while a m18 was in it and all the lights went out and now it's a brick. I bleed red tools and this is the 1st time it left me stranded on a job. I would not get this until th ey fix or update it. Now I have to delay a job.

Charger malfunctioning right out of the box.
Received this charger from a pack out kit and like others have mentioned, the red light indicator never goes away. The meter on the battery shows fully charged and plugging the battery in another rapid charger shows the fully charged status correctly, so there must be something wrong with these multi-voltage chargers.

Nothing special here

The M18™ & M12™ Multi-Voltage Charger it is a regular charger that I can charge M18 and M12. It is small in size. It charged a M18 5Ah in about one hour and 30 minutes. But it is noisy and get quite hot. The R&D department should make better calculation for the transformer parameters’ to avoid the noise and the heat.

I use this to charge M18 Red Lithium XC5.0 batteries and never had any problems. If the environment im working is extremely hot/ cold I try to get the charger and battery to a decent temperature before charging. I also think its important to keep all contacts clean and make sure to have a clean & ventilated area.

Does not charge M18 XC Forge batteries
The product claims to accept all M18 batteries, but this is not true. My M18 XC8.0 Forge battery does not fit the charger, making it impossible to charge with this device. Now, I have to research and purchase a new charger for the battery, despite already owning several 48-59-1812 chargers that have worked well.

I bought the 48-59-1812 charger in a bundle last year. I only used M18 packs with it. All worked well. Yesterday, I bought a 2475-20 M12 inflator, and a 48-11-2420 M12 battery. I put the battery into the M12 charging port, and all it will do is flash red-green-red-green. It will not charge the new battery.

Not wanting to charge new battery
I just bought the M18 drill combo kit a day ago and wanted a bigger battery, so I just bought the 4.0 battery and when I went to plug it in it would charge for about 20 seconds then start flashing red and green. The battery pack doesn't want to stay on the charger properly either and has a bunch of play to it.

These chargers have issues. Sent one back under warranty and the new one I received is doing the same thing the first one was doing......Nothing ! Going on 3 weeks waiting with dead batteries that I can't use. Very unreliable. Would not even consider buying again since the first charger was used maybe 6 times.

Options are always good

It's a nice option to be able to charge either 12 or 18 volt batteries. I have the charger mounted in the back of my work truck plugged in to a inverter with an on/off switch in the cab, so I can easily charge batteries for my driver/impact (M12) or vaccum/hackzall (M18) on the way to a job site and back.

I have 3 M18 batteries and all have the same issue with the charger. The batteries connect with 3 different tools. The batteries don't seat well and need to be adjusted to get to charge. The charger blinks red/green before the charge is completed. Won't full charge the batteries. Is becoming useless.

Just got this up at work with new impact driver. Plugged in, inserted battery to charge it, and charger flashes simultaneous red and green lights which, in the OEM book, states that indicates a faulty charger. Have used Milwaukee for years and first issue I've had with any of the tools.
